The View From My Ass

Dare To Be Different

As most of you know I use a Donkey icon on these little editorials that I call The View From My Ass. Well somehow that icon went missing and was replaced with an Icon that featured Crayons one of which was a different color and the captioned Dare To Be Different. Now it was a pretty Icon but it wasn't my Donkey so I made a new Icon form the same picture. I didn't like it. So this is the new The View From My Ass icon. Welcome it.

Speaking of Live Journal icons I have 80. Most I don't use. For the life of me I don't know when I'll ever use my Sir-Mix-A-Lot icon

I can't even tell you why I have a Sir-Mix-A-Lot icon or if he's still alive.

There's My Sarah Santorum Icon My Sarah Palin icon I even have one for Giada De Laurentiis Which somebody made for me. Seriously when will I ever use it though? If I talk about food? The Why wouldn't I use this?

Maybe It's appropriate Sarah Palin loves Ronald Reagan. They could have started a new dance craze...

Not Sure They Didn't Have it Easy

So last night Nebraska lost to Missouri 52-17 in Lincoln. It was the first loss to Missouri at home in 30 years and the worst home loss in over 50 years. Now that I have had a night to digest it I am still not sure what to make of it. Did it suck my left nut? Or was my left nut just kicked repeatedly until I no longer could feel it? Either way I didn't bother to read the paper this afternoon. I was awake to witness my fellas getting kicked continuously I really didn't need a play by play recap to refresh my memory. About the time I was ready to retire for the evening I found one of those history of Russia shows on one of the 50 History channels we have and they were talking about the Romanovs and the fall of the Dynasty in 1917. Somehow a show about dynasty's falling seemed oh so appropriate for the evening. Of course the Tsar and his family met a violent ending when the new government shot and killed them like cowards so they didn't have to sit and watch their Dynasty fall any more after last night I am not so sure they didn't have it easy. Saturday night was the second time in 3 days I would have given somebody good money to do the same to me. Saturday night because of the game and Thursday night because of .

Oh and thank you ESPN for making wait until 8 O'clock to see that shit. Thank god next weeks game, which will be just as bad against Texas Tech is on at 2. I can wake up watch the team lose and then get on with my day. And about Missouri Chase Daniel. What a punk ass bitch pussy that mother fucker is. Funny Joe Ganz didn't complain about Missouri constantly giving him late hits after every play ( none of which were called) and yet this punk ass has the gall to cry about Nebraska after his ass was protected all night long? What fine young Republican that punk ass bitch is. Oh and quit showing the cocksuckers Mother. She's just as ashamed of him as everybody else. Fuck Chase Daniel..

For Christ Sake Rich We Don't Care.

I have NOOOOOOOOOO problem with a guy admitting he watched a program because it pleased his pecker but NeoCon asswhipe Rich Lowery took it a step or 50 too far. Thursday night when Sarah Plain did this Lowery blew his wad. THEN WROTE A NATIONAL COLUMN about it. Come on rich and have some dignity man.

A very wise TV executive once told me that the key to TV is projecting through the screen. It's one of the keys to the success of, say, a Bill O'Reilly, who comes through the screen and grabs you by the throat. Palin too projects through the screen like crazy. I'm sure I'm not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America. This is a quality that can't be learned; it's either something you have or you don't, and man, she's got it.

Really Rich just some dignity.

This Is Why The Count Doesn't Do Get Togethers

So last weekend or was that two weekends ago since it is now Monday? The good folks of Newshounds off topic had a get together in Hartford Connecticut . I thought about this on Sept 27th as I sat in my chair Watching Nebraska-Virginia tech and randomly screamed "fuck' at my TV and thanked God I didn't go. Here are a cupple of reasons for this. Money, ( I hope this statement isn't taken wrong) I am nervous about meeting people I only know from the internet, And finally the biggest reason I am glad I did not go The Count. It takes me 4 days to get comfortable around strangers which isn't good on a 3 day get together and I just don't have the temperament for it either. Last Saturday night while the group was, at least according to the pictures laughing and having a good time I was in my chair nervous as hell dropping F-bombs at a TV set. Can you imagine the reaction from people who don't really know you to seeing you sitting and cussing a sport and letting it affect your mood for that evening? I guarantee you if I were there I would have brought that whole thing down to the toilet and had to apologize later. So yeah I kinda wish I could have went but trust me you were better off not having me. Imagine John McCain only a lot more Liberal and about 40 years younger. Oh yeah and I wouldn't call anybody a Cunt. Plus honestly most of the time I am really a dull son of a bitch.

And Finally...

We are in the home stretch of the election and looking good. Anytime one the Republican candidates has to come to Omaha to campaign you know things are looking good for The Democrats. is a fucking joke but she plays well here. McCain pulled out of Michigan but told the ground workers there to keep working. said "golly gee do we haveta?" The Emmett County GOP chairmen called it " a dumb ass stunt"...

"If you are going to end visits to the state by McCain/Palin, do it," Emmet County GOP Chairman Jack Waldvogel replied, copying a list of Michigan Republicans. "Just don't formally announce that you are 'pulling out' of Michigan, and then come back two days later asking the base core of support to 'keep working.' What a slap in the face to all the thousands of people who have been energized by the addition of Sarah Palin to the ticket. I've been involved in County Party politics and organization for 40 years, and this is the biggest dumbass stunt I have ever seen."

And The Republicans are down to the last bullet in their gun. Did you know he's a Ni**er? And he knows other Ni**ers? And that his kids are Ni**ers as well? The Republican desperation is so intense that tonight the McCain news network had an hour long special hosted by Shemp Hannity called Barack Obama dangerous Ni**er. The Obama campaign, which has been sharp through out was poised and ready for this last ditch Conservative bullshit effort. That's why they are in the position they are in. Hopefully they don't let the foot off the gas pedal.

Before I go I have to mention RIP. Paul Newman and condolences to Joe and Jill Biden tonight after the passing of her Mother.

That's about all.

I just watched Hannity's special, and it was positively side-splitting. Hannity is now in the same league as Ralph:

Sergei I have always felt that there was a thin line between The Hannity's and The Ralph's of the world. But much like the chicken or the egg I am not sure what came first. Do the Ralph's make Hannity or does Hannity make the Ralph's?

Tell you what, Count, you would have felt right at home as we all watched the debate together on Friday, heckling noisily at every turn, and with Sharon deploying the voice box of Wee Nelson's howler monkey Salvador at every McCain groaner that deserved it.

I think I can speak for most of the NHers who braved Hartford in saying that at the core we are all pretty private people and not inclined to raise a ruckus (except when engaged in fictional adventures on the Series Of Tubes). But after initial butterflies it really wasn't scary at all to meet in person, because we all already know one another. There's a kind of instant recognition that everyone is exactly the person you expected him or her to be, and that you can all just be yourselves.

Lest it be thought that this is just an "old guard" thing, I felt the same way in Chicago in '06.

This is a rambling way of saying that I hope we'll see you next time Con resurfaces, Brigadoon-like, somewhere near Omaha.
