* It's a strange world we live in where Miley Cyrus beats out The Boss for song in a movie. Who sang it better: Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" fromHannah Montana: The Movie...
...or Bruce Springteen's "The Wrestler" from The Wrestler?
* Sasha Baron Cohen joins Steven Colbert in the big brass balls club.
* As I was watching the whole freak show unfold, I can fully understand why Thom Yorke of Radiohead hates MTV.....its nothing more than as, Lester Bangs from Almost Famous would say, "an industry of cool." How did MTV go from being part of the X-generation to a part of the souless, vapid, and shallow culture that glorifies talentless eye candy? For years i've wondered why I've never totally fit in with the pop culture of my generation....tonight I understand why: I have no connection with it.
* Twilight sucks. The craptastic movie swept the awards show, and they're making another one, titled New Moon. Fuck that. I'd rather sit through <Armageddon and Pearl Harbor than pay money to watch a bunch of Abercrombie and Fitch pretty boys run around with their shits off. 'Nuff said.
This whole incident to me is equally sad and eye opening. Some real good can come of this. We can see the pro life frauds for what they are and what they are is anything but pro life.
Until the kid is born they shout about their beliefs from the highest roof tops and then once he's born they no longer care.
Where once his life was a precious thing now it's just a drain on their pocket books. The same people who preach about the sanctity of his life now bitch about the cost of his health care and his schooling and his well being. Why should they have to pay? Pro life must have it's limits you know.
Then when the child reaches 16 or 17 he's hungry he robs a store and the robbery goes wrong and he kills a clerk. The very same pro life warriors are the first at the court house with signs yelling KILL HIM! KILL HIM! FLIP THE SWITCH! these people are a sick joke on America.
WICHITA, Kansas - Wichita police say that abortion provider Dr. George Tiller has been shot and killed at his Wichita church.
Tiller has been among the few U.S. physicians performing late-term abortion. His clinic has repeatedly been the site of protests for about two decades.
The Wichita Eagle was reporting on its Web site, Kansas.com, that Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the congregation. The newspaper reported that witnesses and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim.
So far, Fox News seems to be mum about the fact that Dr. George Tiller, shot and killed while at church today, was a repeated target of Bill O'Reilly. O'Reilly made such inflammatory statements as calling him "Tiller, the baby killer" as well as "murderer," "barbarian" and "disgrace" for years on television. How many more deaths will occur before Fox News forswears its hate?
And the right wing pro lifers don't give a shit. From Ellen's thread...
LOL ... so what is your point? If you don't want the truth, you should read mainstream news.

Late Edit: If anything good comes of this it will be that we will learn that these sick mother fuckers who pass themselves off as pro life are anything but.
Is there any public record of what hospital Obama was born in?
Was he even born in a hospital?
The secrets contained in that Long Form Birth Certificate of his that he won't reveal will do more to destroy the Dems than any of this prattle of Nate's should worry the GOP.
I am convinced that Obama was spirited into the country after his African birth (either on a Kenyan passport or without one at all -- back in the day nobody cared about a baby in arms). His mother then registered his birth after the fact, falsely claiming he was born at home.
Mrs. Obama was not careful I suspect in this. Her goal was not to assure his ability to be president. She was simply concerned with establishing his rights to the welfare that she intended to become her primary means of support.
Powerful forces are opposed to this man whose overweening sense of self confidence will be his downfall. Billionaires are having passport and birth registries checked in Paki - E - Stan, Kenya and Indonesia (his adopted country). Malevolence and greed reigns supreme in such places and it is only a matter of time before those who would destroy Obama will bribe the right person and all hell will break loose.
Conspiracies do happen for a reason.
Again, let him prove his heritage; let's start with the name of the hospital.
petekent01 (on twitter)
We don't know anything at all about this shadowy period in the President's life.
Tell me again what hospital was he born in?
Did he mention it in his two (count 'em 2) memoirs?
Why all the secrecy? It drives folks nuts -- just release the Birth Certificate.
It's all gonna come out and soon. Now he has the CIA on his azz, I suspect, as well as all the billions behind Wall Street who really don't need his protection from pitchforks! This is after all still America -- tho sadly a worse place since Obama's inauguration!
petekent01 (on twitter)
Sure make fun, but just give me the name of the Hospital. We can start there. Maybe his mother found him in a basket beside the Nile River -- but again that would make him inelligible to be Prez.
petekent01 (on twitter)
By the way check out Pete's Twitter page. He really is that fucking stupid.

In a cost-cutting move, three Big Ten schools have decided to stop printing media guides to their sports teams.
Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin announced on Thursday that they will stop printing the guides immediately. The information will be available on the Internet.
Michigan and Ohio State issued a joint statement that said the schools estimate that together they will save more than $250,000 per year.
In a separate announcement, Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez said that the move will save his department up to $200,000.
In February, Major League Baseball stopped printing the green and red guides to the National and American leagues. A pdf version was made available to media.
Hopefully Nebraska never stops priting theirs...but they will. As somebody who has every Nebraska football guide going back to 1964 this just makes me kinda sick.

As for athlons they have been shrinking their magazine for years. Some years it's bigger than others but if you get an Athlons Magazine for the late 70's or 80's ( and I have some) compare it to a edition from the past...oh 10 years. See how much larger it is heighth and width wise. And even though pages counts are similar notice the ads and the size of the print. Compare the quality of the paper. Paying more for less. It seems to be the way of the times.
Now that I am done bitching Open thread :)

Sonya Sotomayer. Honestly before a few days ago I never heard of her. Or if I had I didn't take note. I do not know what her views are but I do know that some of the most obnoxious and ignorant people in this country seem to dislike her that works in her favor. One thing I do not understand why is it that the media and Democrats never raise the same level of noise about the right wing activist judges that Republicans nominate? You know the ones who are far more biased and activist than the moderates Democrats nominate. Even Harriet Myers didn't get dropped because she was a right wing hack. She got dropped because she was a hack.
On the other hand it leads to a tough question do I want to buy these again? Once upon a time I loved the Beatles. maybe not like I currently love Sinatra or not as much as my friend who named his son Jude, but I loved them none the less. I had all of these CD's and played them quite often. Now I do not know where they are. I gave some away I think. There are still Beatles songs I love but not nearly as many or as much.
So Do I buy these new CD's? The answer now is some of them for sure others maybe. The First 2 Beatles Albums Please Please Me and With The Beatles are the same damn album. Both are quite good neither are great. Will I buy either? I don't know.
Now comes the Beatles peak period. Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, (Yes I know this album gets bashed more than any other Beatles album I like it.) Help, Rubber Soul and Revolver are all certain purchases. Revolver and Help are to these ears the Beatles best two albums.
Next comes the slow decline, Sgt. Pepper is ok but massively overrated. Magical Mystery Tour is a better Album than Sgt. Pepper. Yes I said it. The White Album is the Beatles biggest strike out. There is some good stuff there but there is also a whole lot of pure D. Shit. Number 9 Number 9 Number 9. Spin it anyway you like much of it is trash. Yellow Submarine is dispensable. All of these CD's are in the questionable leaning towards not buying them again catagory.
The Beatles made a bit of come back with Abby Road which was their best album in years. Then they end it with the decent but not earth shattering Let It Be. Again if I don't buy them all I can see myself passing on these as well.
Finally the 2 CD's which collect the singles will be on 1 CD this time around. This CD will have some really good and some not so good but will probably be a purchase for me. Bottom line is Usually when I am on the fence I buy since these come out September 9th a day before my birthday I'll get somebody to buy them for me.
P.S. Act Naturally is a Buck Owens song covered by the Beatles not the other way around. Never mind that Buck recorded 2 years before the Beatles or his version is oh... a billion times better, somehow some still consider it a Beatles song.

The Cavaliers live to see Game 6! They beat the Magic, 112-102 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Now all L.A. needs to do is win Game 6 tomorrow and the first part my my dream NBA Finals series will be in motion: Kobe vs. King James. I just think that'll be a series for the ages.
Yea, the 911 conspiracy is much less far fetched than showing a $10-$12 original BC. You guys are team partisans, you've been had

Chris, if he was not born here, then he lied right? That would ruin him politicaly, correct? Ok, now what if some other entity, say Russia, Say Iran, via Pakistan (from his travels there earlier in his life), knew this valuable information and could produce evidence showing Obama a fraud, not natural born, dont you think they would play that hand and would we as a country not be vulnerable to extortion, bribary etc? The truth must be know no matter what? Arent we Americans?

Please dear God don't tell us what images you "phreak" over.
Regardless of the contraversy surrounding this issue, Gibbs nor the Obama administration have answered 3 simple questions that could end much of the contraversy:
1. What hospital was Obama born at?
2. What is name of doctor who deliverd Obama?
3. What witnesses attended Obama's birth.
The American People continue to wait for these answers.
James | 05.28.09 - 7:41 pm | #
It matters not. Obama still has not answered those 3 questions regardless of what his birth Certificate contains (although his vault copy birth certificate would contain that information). Again Obama has yet to state what hospital he was born at, the doctor who delivered him and the witnesses to his birth.
In an end note, Gary Kreep in radio interview a while back did receive information that a person from the State of Hawaii did actually see the Long Form Birth Certificate indicating he was born in Mombassa, Kenya.
The radio interview has been removed for obvious reasons, but someone saved a partial transcript of it:
“Joe? Can I break in for just a minute? Ok, Gary, I will tell you this much. I have a member in Hawaii who works uh… something like title research. You know what I’m talkin’ about?
“He has actually seen Barack Obama’s vault birth certificate. Dennis tells me that this vault birth certificate has nothin’ but his mother’s signature on it.
“It also shows that he was born in that uh… coast town… I can’t remember what the name of it… Kenya.”
Gary Kreep interjects, “Mombasa.”
The toothless Bubba continues:
“Mambosa, Kenya. Right.
“Uh, he tells me that’s why Obama will not release it and that’s why nobody’s gonna get it because when that comes out it’s gonna show that he was not born in America.
“That this birth certificate is actually produced by his mother. There’s no hospital uh, signature, no doctor signature, nothin’ on it.”
The American People will continue to Dog Obama over this issue until he releases his Vault Copy Birth Certificate.
The American People continue to wait for Obama's answers and actions.
TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA….CONTINUE TO ASK GIBBS THE FOLLOWING QUESTION:
When will Obama release his long form birth certificate showing the hospital and identity of the doctor who delivered him.

No James we the American people honestly don't give a shit. We elected him to clean up your mess.

Now what in the blue hell does the the part of the article have to do with the tragic death of this man's daughter? Mike Tyson is a train wreck no doubt about it and most everyone knows he won't win many citizen of the month awards but this is not the time to rehash this shit. Let the man grieve with out kicking him in the nads even more.
PHOENIX -- The 4-year-old daughter of boxer Mike Tyson died at a hospital Tuesday, a day after her neck apparently got caught in a treadmill cord at her Phoenix home, police said.
Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead just before noon, police Sgt. Andy Hill said. She had been on life support and police have said their investigation showed her injury on Monday was a "tragic accident."
"There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus," the family said in a statement. "We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal."
Police said Exodus either slipped or put her head in the loop of a cord hanging under the console. Her 7-year-old brother found her and told their mother. She took Exodus off the cord, called 911 and tried to revive her.
Responding officers and firefighters performed CPR as they took the girl to the hospital.
Former heavyweight champion Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident and flew Monday to Phoenix, where he was seen entering the hospital.
The family's home is in a modest, quiet neighborhood. Neighbors say they saw Tyson there from time to time and the children played outside regularly.
Dinka Radic, who lives across the street, said Exodus would ask her if she had any chocolate. When Radic gave her some, Exodus would hug the woman's knees and "kiss, kiss, kiss."
"She'd say 'hi' to everybody. She was really friendly," said Abdul Khalik, 53, who lives next door.
He said Exodus rode her bicycle in the neighborhood and often played with his two children and his niece. He said his 14-year-old daughter had cried all day after hearing of Exodus' death.
Ben Brodhurst, 20, who lives across the street, said Exodus' and her family went trick-or-treating at his house the last couple of Halloweens. She was "very lively, very enjoyable to be around," he said.
The neighborhood contrasts starkly with the lavish lifestyle Tyson had through his tumultuous years of boxing, when he spent tens of millions of dollars and says he had millions more stolen from him by unscrupulous associates. During two years at the height of his career, he earned $140 million.
The death of his child in such an unusual accident adds an awful chapter to the boxer's troubled life.
Tyson first began boxing in a facility for juvenile delinquents in upstate New York at the age of 12. Eight years later, he became the youngest heavyweight champion ever when he knocked out Trevor Berbick in 1986. But in 1990, he was defeated by James "Buster" Douglas in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, and soon after was convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant in Indianapolis.
Tyson, who still denies he raped the woman, served three years in prison.
A few years later, he served three months in jail for beating up two men after a minor car crash in suburban Washington.
As his career continued, so did his bizarre behavior. He bit off a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear during a boxing match and once threatened to eat the children of heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.
Although Tyson's children had lived in their unassuming neighborhood for several years, he purchased a separate home in the tony Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley in 2005 for $2.1 million, selling it two years later for $2.3 million.
In November 2007, Tyson spent 24 hours in Maricopa County's "Tent City" jail after pleading guilty to one count of cocaine possession and one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence. Police found the drug when they pulled over Tyson's car after he left a Scottsdale night club.
According to police, Tyson said after his arrest that he bought cocaine "whenever I can get my hands on it."
At Tyson's sentencing hearing, nearly a year after the arrest, his attorney David Chesnoff said his client had taken 29 drug tests without a relapse and was attending Alcoholic Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
Tyson had become an example of how one overcomes problems with drugs, a violent past and poor upbringing, Chesnoff said.
"He's tried his hardest," his attorney said, "despite coming from almost impossible beginnings."
News agencies like to do with their stories adding on information to their stories that do not have any place in the story. Long after Lawrence Phillips was no longer associated with University of Nebraska AP stories would call him "University Of Nebraska" Or "former University Of Nebraska running back Lawrence Phillips" And then always add what he did while at Nebraska even though it had nothing to do with the story they were writing about.
You can shrug and say well who cares Tyson and Phillips are two degenerates, but keep in mind this is the same AP who does this kind of reporting in the political arena as well. Mike Tyson is not a good guy but tonight is not the time to beat him about the head with his past when he has more than enough to grieve about.

With the Lakers getting their asses kicked all night by the Nuggets Bennett Salvatore (known Tax fraud) called not 1 not 2 but 3 bogus Technical fouls on Denver down the stretch and got the lead cut down to 10 with 3 minutes to go. But instead of getting pissed this time Denver got even and closed this thing out winning 120-101. Denver you're the better team dammit! It's going to take some work but you can win Wednesday in LA and then close this thing out on in Denver. How sweet would it be to have a Magic-Nuggets NBA finals after having Kobe and Lebron 's Testicles shoved down our throats?
Baseball question for Jonathan. Not being a baseball fan I have to ask. How do you blow a 10 run lead? That's like being up 56-0 in a football game. How would you like to be one of the thousands of people who left the ball park early? assuming they showed up to begin with.
Edit From The Count: I hope you don't mind Jonathan:
Never a dull moment with partisan hack extraordinaire Matt Margolis of Blogs For Victory.com. Today's faux outrage against President Obama? He went golfing on Memorial Day!
Really, Barry? Really? According to a White House pool report, posted on Drudge Report:
Subject: Pool report 5/25/09
POTUS is, reportedly, golfing with Marvin Nicholson. No actual glimpses of the presidential golf game. Aides say POTUS paused at 3 p.m. to observe a moment of silence.
The jerk won’t let Memorial Day get in the way of his golf… sounds like Bill Clinton, who passed up the chance to get Osama bin Laden so his golf game wouldn’t get interrupted.
The president's agenda on Memorial Day:
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama begins Memorial Day hosting a breakfast at the White House for families who have lost loved ones in military service. The Gold Star family members will be honored in the State Dining Room.
Later this morning, the president will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.
Afterward, Obama will deliver remarks at the Memorial Amphitheater at Arlington.
Now it is true that the president played some golf today, but Matty left out one important detail: this was after he performed his mandatory rituals on Memorial Day!
FORT BELVOIR, Va., May 25 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama relaxed on the links Monday after taking part in a Memorial Day service at Arlington National Cemetery.
Aids said the president spent about 4 1/2 hours on the course at Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County, Va., out of sight of a pool reporter who was kept in a roped-off area of the base PX food court. He then returned to the White House.
Obama's aides said the president paused at 3 p.m. to observe a moment of silence.
Obama ventured out on the course despite rain falling as his motorcade arrived on base. It wasn't disclosed who accompanied the president on his outing.
So not only did President Obama play some golf after taking part in the traditional Memorial Day service in Arlington, he even paused his golf game at 3p.m. to honor a moment of silence for the fallen veterans of the U.S. Military, just like he asked all Americans to do the same.
But since Matt wants to play the outrage game, let me throw him a 'what's worse scenario:'
What's worse? Obama playing a few founds of golf after he completed his traditional duties.......
....Or former President Bush playing the guitar and his Secretary of State Condelezza Rice going shoe shopping while the citizens of New Orleans were drowning in their homes and dying when Hurricane Katrina hit?
Please, spare me your false outrage, you fucking hypocrite.
It's pretty clear. Win tonight and this series is still yours to be had. Lose and well it's over. I still do not understand why the Nuggets are so damn scared of LA since they are clearly the better team. it's obvious to everybody but them. Yes you are going to get fucked from Stern's storm troopers but you have to play through it. So here we go... Kick LA's ass or keep being the Nuggets and wonder what if.
Edit From The Count: I evoked executive privilege and changed the layout. I want a layout that you can post bigger pictures and videos with out having to refit everything. That's a pain in the ass.

My Padres, after dropping six straight on the road a week ago, have swept the Reds, Giants, and have taken the first two games against the Cubs, now going for the sweep and extending their win streak to nine games. So why the heck am I not convinced that they're playing great? We're now 16-8 at home; 3rd best home record in the National League, but its the road games that scare me: an abysmal 5-16 road record. I'm not expecting much from the Friars, mainly because there's not enough on the team. The starting five lacks depth and consistency besides Jake Peavy and Chris Young, Brian Giles just doesn't have much left in the tank at right field, and the offense (excluding Adrian Gonzalez and Scott Hariston) is a joke. Maybe in three to four years Padre fans, like myself, can expect great things from this young team, but we're just living in a fantasy if we keep on thinking we're gonna give Manny Ramirez and Joke Torre a run for the N.L. West. It's not going to happen.
There's something about the losers; the loveless, socially awkward, bumbling species of young male teenagers I can relate and sympathize with....probably because I belong to that group, but I digress. Every time there's some show or movie that lays out the classic earnest-but luckless male teenager and the trials and tribulations we encounter with the female species and growing up, I can't help but say, that's me! I can totally see myself in that guy! The anime show Love Hina, is no different. The bumbling youth is Keitaro Urashima, a twenty year-old lad who's failed to enter Tokyo University twice on his entrance exam, and all-around luckless loser whenever he's tried to set his mind to anything.....and yet he's still a happy-go-lucky optimist! When his grandmother leaves for vacation, he's been given the job as manager of an all-girls dorm, but Keitaro's not welcome with open arms. The show's down-right hysterical and relate able.
That's all I got. Have at it.

Got the auto feeder out for the cats and for whatever reason the instructions weren't with the feeder. After the Contessa scoured the house I finally said why wouldn't they be in the that brief case where you keep all the instructions to everything else? They were. Anyway I got the thing loaded and set and for reasons known only to her she decided the food wasn't "even" enough in the jug and spilled it all trying to even it out. I got the food picked up and back in the machine and told her if she spilled it again I was kicking her ass. (This was an idle threat for any of you who are worried) She said if I spilled it again I would kick my own ass.
One Thing more about The Celtics. It turns out that according to Red's Army Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins were playing hurt and have to have surgeries as well. It's quite amazing this team went as far as it did with all of it's injuries.
Anyway I say all of this, except that part about the C's, to say that I am going out of town tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday. I have two requests...
Don't allow any posts from Ranger Bob to stay no matter the subject

I do watch CNN as well as FNC and many other news programs. I've come to the conclusion that CNN is a clone of FNC: same smears, same lies, same pretty much everything else. The men are younger and handsomer, the women less so. And that's about it.

By the way, it was Richard Armitage who blew Valerie Plame's super-duper top-secret cover. Special Prosecutor Patty Fitzgerald knew this, but ordered both Armitage and Novak to keep quiet about it - and then he went after Libby for perjury instead. Atheism is an attitude - a self-centered, elitist conceit about one’s supposed intellectual superiority coupled with a desire to have this alleged superiority acknowledged by others.
And Mark knows this because he's spent time with hordes of non-believers....right....
Meanwhile, we’re just sorry for them; and we’ll keep praying for them. Its so hard to see some of our fellows so cut off from reason and love - so unwilling to first admit to the superior and then realize you can endlessly draw upon this superior for whatever it is you need.
One thing that really turns me off about religion: how people like Noonan act so condescending towards others who don't share their beliefs as lost souls that need to be continued to be prayed for and that one day, they'll see the light and beg for forgiveness. Mind you, i'm not an atheist (i'm agnostic), but reading condescending shit like this really pisses me off.
The sad part is that Mark could have addressed how both sides - the hard-liners of belief and non-belief - do each other no service by legitimizing the viewpoints that Christians are a bunch of brainwashed morons who look down on others or that atheists are arrogant pricks who enjoy boasting how intelligent they are from everyone else, but instead he just legitimizes the former.
Spike Lee made a documentary for ESPN Called Doing Kobe Bryant...No Being Kobe Bryant... Um Kobe Going To Jail...Work something. Ok Spike Lee made a documentary on one of the most popular basketball players on the planet and it's on ESPN that I don't have a problem with, the problem is it's on all fucking night! ESPN/DISNEY which is suppose to be an unbiased sports news network is running an infomercial for the Lakers on the eve of a game 7 that their networks are covering. Don't you think this hurts your journalistic integrity just a little?
Imagine if a news network that was promoting itself as being fair an balanced had been continuously running a documentary fawning on The President Of The United States. Ok that's easy to imagine...Fox News. Congrats ESPN you are the Fox News of sports.

"I can’t quite picture myself explaining assault charges to my family after an altercation with a sesame street viewer I met on the internet."
I know not a lot of you are Basketball fans but I have to mention this. Wayman Tisdale who was a great player for Oklahoma when I was growing up and went on to a 12 year career in the NBA then made a name for himself in the world of Jazz Music has passed away after a 2 year battle with Cancer. He was only 44 years old. Very sad news.
We can say anything we want and if somebody is offended it either violates my freedom of speech or is a case of political correctness. However if a Liberal says something I find offensive he/she should should be hung in a public square.
Nothing Rush says should ever be questioned because he is only an entertainer how ever acts like the Dixie Chicks should never be allowed to perform again for things that they have said.
Oh hell here is basically the belief one has to have to be a conservative...
I should be allowed to do and say anything I damn well please without any repercussions you shouldn't be allowed to do and say jack shit.

Right-wing think tank the Independence Institute is hoping that Joe the Plumber drops his wrench long enough to be the keynote speaker at its seventh annual Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms Party on June 20.
Better known as "Slam It, Smoke It and Shoot It," the day-long gathering celebrates all things politically incorrect at Kiowa Creek Sporting Club in Bennett, beginning with skeet shooting, followed by lunch, whiskey, cigars and a speaker or two.
Institute boss Jon Caldara says he's thisclose to closing the deal to have Plumber (a.k.a. Samuel Wurzelbacher) as the speaker. Plumber would join a distinguished roster of former speakers, which includes Christopher Hitchens and Fred Barnes. Westword named the party the "Best Place to See a Drunk Conservative."
One problem. Joe the Plumber announced last week that he was quitting the Republican Party because he is outraged by GOP spending.
"Well, I agree with him on that," says Caldara. "It would just be fun to have him there."
You got that right. Among the repeatable quotes from Joe the Plumber: "Back in the day, really, when people would talk about our military in a poor way, somebody would shoot 'em. And there would be nothing said about that."
He's also said things I won't write in this column, but I still hope he comes to the party.

This Is Earl Benjamin Nelson and he's a Democrat (not really) from Nebraska. Earl is an embarrassment to the state and to the Democratic Party. Now with Arlen Septic calling himself a Democrat Earl is no longer the shittiest Democrat in the senate. he is second shittiest. Earl was one of 20 chicken shit Democrats who voted against capping the interest rates from Credit cards at 15%.
Earl is also against Obama's health care proposals.
Nelson’s problem, he told CQ, is that the public plan would be too attractive and would hurt the private insurance plans. “At the end of the day, the public plan wins the game,” Nelson said. Including a public option in a health plan, he said, was a “deal breaker.”
Earl also likes to block the President's nominees.
Roll Call reports that conservatives look poised to successfully block the nomination of Dawn Johnsen to head the White House Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) declared that his hands were tied without the assistance of a few Republican votes:
Senators opposing Johnsen include new Democrat Arlen Specter (PA), who announced his opposition to Johnsen on the day he decided to switch parties, though he has yet to explain why he opposes her. Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) has said he “is concerned about her outspoken pro-choice views on abortion.” Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) insists that Johnsen “has not demonstrated the seriousness and necessary resolve to address the national security challenges we face.”
Ben...err...Earl need not worry about what I think of him. His chickenshit politics guarantee him a re-election in this state. That and the scary right-wing hacks that run against him. I am beginning to wonder if Earl isn't paying the likes of Pete Ricketts to run against him. Anyway I will not vote for him again.
On the local political front Omaha came through again and elected Jim Suttle over Hal Daub for Mayor. Now will Suttle be any good? I doubt it. He maybe be and empty suit like the last guy we had as mayor, Mayor Fahey. But one thing is for sure he isn't Hal Daub. Daub was mayor from 1993-2001 and he was literally the worst mayor in the country. It's tough to say what Hal's biggest accomplishment was. Was it calling Council Bluffs a "XXX" rated city when the Casinos went up and Nebraska revenue went with it turning Council Bluffs from a complete shithole to a shithole with a brand new store going up everyday all on Nebraska's dime?
Or was it his smooth move of paying the tree removal people by the pound after the freak blizzard in October 1997 which actually lead to the tree removers cutting down live trees?
Suttle did two things I give him credit for that surprised me. 1. He ran with Obama's imagery in his commercials promising to get all of the "bail out" money coming to Omaha and he had the guts to ask in his Commercials "Why would you want to go back?
It was a close election Suttle won with only about a 1,500 vote margin.
Now I must say I like Hal. Yeah he's a douche and a terrible politician but he did do something that deserves much credit. He ran the McCain campaign in Omaha and managed to lose it for the Republican party. Good job Dauby. Man First the district goes to Obama, then the Tea Bag party draws a whole 150 people now we elect a Democratic Mayor for the 3rd straight time. Fahey twice (Not much of a Democrat) and Suttle ( probably not either)
Boston played like complete monkey turds for 3 and half quarters and pretty much looked as if they had mailed in this series then in their darkest moment a hero emerged.
Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy made odd decision after odd decision, Orlando chocked, Stephon Marbury had a huge fourth quarter and Ray Allen who had played so bad for most of the game I wondered if he had taken a bribe to throw the game but he made a 3 pointer with less than 2 minutes left which topped off an 11 point run and gave Boston their first lead since the first quarter. Boston held on to win 92-88 and take a 3-2 lead in a series that Orlando has to believe should be over. This was a much worse loss for the Magic than Sunday. Sunday Boston controlled the game and almost chocked down the stretch tonight Orlando controlled the game and DID choke down the stretch. If Boston finishes this series off and plays Cleveland for the Eastern Conference finals ( even if they don't) You can't deny they have balls the size of church bells. To keep winning with the injuries they have is amazing.

Mr. Steele you are right to tell Norm Coleman to hang in there. The people running the election in Minnesota are trying to pull a fast one in the hope that Norm Coleman will pull the plug.
I believe the truth will in the end come out to show Norm Coleman won the election and that the left is placing more votes in the ballet box which should never have been there. We know that the Democrats stack the deck this past election with people voting more then once using phony ID and addresses. The Demon_Rats will do anything that their leader Barack Hussein Obama will do to win and election.
You know the God like figure which the Democrats now worship with adulation. They believe he is the one. The only one which should receive adulation is Jesus Christ but Obama feels he is more deserving then Jesus Christ. Water walking Obama uses planks under the water to do his walking. Liars always dress the part. His defiant smile gives him away. The jutting chin shows he is a proud man. We know pride will follow the fall. It is just when God has enough of Obama that his fall will come quickly.
Most of you that do not believe in God here but believe in your idol Obama, you can spend eternity with the deceiver. Have fun in Hell!!!! Demon_Rats!
If any of you ACTUALLY listened to Limbaugh's program you would realize it is more intelligent than anything Wanda Sykes (who is that?) ever could or ever will conceive. It is amazing how stupid many progressives actually are. The hate from the left has always been just as bad, if not worse, than that of the hate from the right. The left just acts like they work for the little guy. The only sensible place to be is somewhere in the middle. Hating Rush Limbaugh shows your pettiness and that you can be distracted while actual level-headed debate and issues pass you by. It's easy for many of you to sit in front of your computer and act like you are high and mighty, when most of you haven't done jack in your lives. Have nice empty lives.
**That about sums up the collective intelligence of the left. Very hateful people that claim the other side is hateful in order to mask their own hatred of themselves and their pathetic existence.
- Are you a Community College Professor?? Seriously, is vulgarity all you have? You must do really well for yourself.
"Plus, to suggest that an American is responsible for 9/11 is not off the mark. 9/11 was indeed an inside job. Limbaugh's friends, like the War Criminal Chenney, have their hands covered with american blood and thermite! Not to mention that the War Criminal Chenney was in charged of NORAD on that day!"
-This site is priceless... where disillusioned commies come to die is it's motto.
Lol... Count Istvan... your theories I'm sure are right up there with evolution and relativity. I simply have actually listened to Rush, and he while I don't agree with him on everything.. I don't hate him just because I find him threatening. Its called free speech, isn't it? I don't hate Olberman or anyone on the left either. They have a right to say what they will, and let the chips fall as they may. Why so much hate??
It's funny to hear idiots spew their vile while actually thinking they make a difference.
Do you think your vulgar debate would work in real life?? What do you actually accomplish. Obama won the election... there's no reason to be so hateful.
Right, the same empathy, generosity, compassion, acceptance, honor, justice, and forgiveness you show to people with differing opinions. Do you actually ever see the hypocrisy?
Do you guys see how hateful you are?? Seriously... everyone would laugh at all you guys if they actually knew you existed. Why don't you go run for Congress or something?? Oh yeah... you wouldn't actually be able to hold legitimate debate without calling someone a "terrorist" or some other derogatory term if they disagreed with you.
I'm trying to help you guys... you all have serious problems. Limbaugh exists precisely because the industry understands that some will love him, some will loathe him... and a certain percentage of both groups will listen to him.
Yeah... the big people who can make no actual points.. you are a comedian yourself... you should have replaced Wanda Sykes.
What’s the difference between a puppy and a liberal?
A: Puppies stop whinning after they grow up.
You are still allowed to have differing opinions. There's a difference between whining incessantly on a message board and actually making a point about taxes and spending. Isn't there a military funeral for you guys to protest at??
-That is the type of stupidity that makes people hate the left and right. Have some right-wingers done horrible things... certainly. So have left-wingers (like bombings and environment vandalism and killings). The actual percentage of people that would do this on either side is miniscule.
-Your rhetoric is no different than that of Limbaugh's except from the opposite view, and with far fewer listeners.
Ok.. the Left "DOES" protest military funerals. Are you daft, man?? I'm saying the far left and the far right are both stupid positions.
-And the left brain just plain doesn't work.
I AM A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT, BUSH BAD! BUSH BAD! OBAMA GOOD! OBAMA GOOD! I AM ORIGINAL!!!! I REALLY CARE ABOUT PEOPLE WHILE AT THE SAME TIME I PUT EVERYONE DOWN WHO DOESNT AGREE WITH ME!!! BUSH BAD!!! BUSH BAD!!!
BUSH BAD!!! BUSH BAD!!!! I HATE LIMBAUGH!!!! ANTI-AMERICAN ANTI-AMERICAN!!!! LOOK AT ME!!!! THERE ARE 10 WHOLE PEOPLE ON MY MESSAGE BOARD!!!! BUSH BAD!!! BUSH BAD!!!! I AM RIGHT!!! YOU ARE WRONG!!!! BUSH BAD!!!! BUSH BAD!!!! I HAVEN'T LOGGED OFF MY COMPUTER FOR 3 WEEKS!!!! BUSH BAD!!!! LOVE OBAMA!!!! BUSH BAD!!!!
I AM A BLOGGER!!!! I MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!! IT TAKES A VILLAGE!!!! BUSH BAD!!! BUSH BAD!!! WINDMILLS ARE THE FUTURE!!! NOT IN MY BACK-YARD!!! BUSH BAD!!! GLOBAL WARMING IS MY RELIGION!!! SAVE THE EARTH!!!! BUSH BAD!!! BUSH BAD!!!! ROBERT BYRD!!!! KKK!!! SAVE THE DOLPHINS!!!! BUSH BAD!!! BUSH BAD!!! AL GORE IS SO BRILLIANT!!!! BUSH BAD!!! BUSH BAD!!!
being briefed about the torture tecniques that were being used on detainees....and js02 basically slams him for agreeing with him!

First of all, I would love to see Pelosi out as Speaker. There are so many more qualified people in the Dem caucus that should be leading over her.
Second, what the heck does DeLay have to do with this?
Third… just because Pelosi supposedly was briefed doesn’t make it right. It makes her as bad as the Bush administration on this issue.
I don’t get this “well some Dems knew about this”. So what? If it was wrong, it is wrong regardless of the party you belong to. A few Dems that were supposedly briefed on this doesn’t all of the sudden make it all ok.
May 11th, 2009 at 11:38 am
we know pelosi is an idiot…and only a mental midget would come to her aid…its no dispute…
May 11th, 2009 at 11:40 am
Who exactly came to her aid?
Do you actually read the posts or do you just assume because a liberal posted something it must be to defend her?
May 11th, 2009 at 11:46 am
ya right…backpeddal all ya want…we can see right through ya…(notes how liberals constantly squeal here)
May 11th, 2009 at 11:50 am
Fine. Don’t read the posts. Just keep talking out of your ass. I can’t make you read if you don’t want to (or don’t know how to).
That is a prime example of a 'class A' fucking moron, if there ever was one.
His counterpart at the House Republicans’ committee, Representative Pete Sessions of Texas, may indeed face an uphill fight with his argument that Mr. Obama is not trying to create jobs. In an interview, Mr. Sessions cited rising unemployment in asserting that the administration intended to “diminish employment and diminish stock prices” as part of a “divide and conquer” strategy to consolidate power.
Mr. Sessions, in his seventh term, said Mr. Obama’s agenda was “intended to inflict damage and hardship on the free enterprise system, if not to kill it.” By next fall, he predicted, voters may regain appreciation for the era of Republican governance when “many dreams were achieved,” the size of the economy doubled and employment and financial markets hit record levels.
Polls offer little evidence that Americans are prepared to accept those arguments. But voters anxious about the economy do tend to blame the party in power.
Its way to easy (and lazy IMO) to just simply dismiss Representative Sessions as a fucking retard from a state that's full of dumb honkeys who continually vote aganst their own best interests, becasue I don't beleive he's this dense(willfully ignorant that his party's platform of deregualtion and handing out tax breaks to the richest 1% of Americans with the idea that the wealth will 'trickle down' to the general population is what got President Obama elected in the first place? You betcha!). Remember who he's pandering to: the 21% who buy this kind of 'Obama is a power-hungry socialist!' rhetoric.

Amazingly his blog is called Alan Keyes Loyal To Liberty. I guess my idea Alan Keyes Crazy Mother Fucker wasn't excepted then.

Quoting CBS Golf anal clown David Feherty:
From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this, though: despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death. I've never met a soldier who didn't love this president and this country, and I've met a bunch of them, at home and abroad, in hospitals and in theater. At Walter Reed, Bethesda Naval Medical Center, and the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, I have visited dozens of patients, and I always ask of them before I leave: "What do you want to do when you get out?" No matter how broken or burned, or how many limbs they are missing, they give only one answer: "I want to go back. I want to rejoin my team, to finish our mission." They are rightfully proud of what they have done and want nothing more than to be with their brothers and sisters in arms, because they know the consequences if their job is left unfinished.
Why do Republicans hate America? why must they act out their hatred in violence? One thing we have seen over and over since November Conservatives hate America and everything it stands for. For what it's worth I don't see Feherty losing his job not with CBS. The Conservative Broadcasting Company
Late Edit. Feherety is a crazy drunk.
Feherty still isn’t sure if he drank because he was depressed or was depressed because he drank. For a long time he didn’t realize what was wrong, that he had a mental illness. But he now knows those two sick bedfellows conspired to lure him down an alley so dark that his family’s foundation cracked.
Alcohol and depression tend to hold hands. And so it was that Feherty, a self-described “spectacular drunk,” medicated himself with the wrong tonic, the hard kind. He spiraled downward to the point he needed a second bottle of whiskey “just to get a buzz,” to the point that watching grim developments on the nightly news made him sad for days.
“I felt I needed to drink to get rid of the pain,” said Feherty, the former European Ryder Cup player turned CBS golf announcer. “Depression is when you lose hope. I just couldn’t see a way out.”
The long trail of empty liquor bottles over those three to four years, though, has led to a happy, reformed present. Down about 40 pounds, he has reclaimed a joyful home life, far different from those dreadful times when his wife, Anita, says she was on “pins and needles” and kept the kids away from him.Oh those Christian Conservatives.
Regarding the recent flap regarding Miss California answering a question honestly. The same leftwing zealots who wail and carp “People in this country have a right to speak out when necessary” etc. are wailing over Miss California. What a bunch of hypocrites-SHEESH- She was asked a question and gave an honest answer that she believed that marriage should be between a man and a woman. I bet if she gave a slobbering answer praising Obama, people and sites like this would say she is a geniusWell according to CNN Exit Poll a majority of voters AGREED with her and so did a majority of Blacks and Hispanics, and Asians split 50/50. A recent CNN Poll showed that 55 pct of Americans agreed with her also. Miss California is a beauty pageant contestant just like another well-known conservative woman. I guess if both of them were involved with ACORN and engaging in vote fraud the leftwingers would call them ‘enlightened’ It’s interesting that leftwingers don’t like conservative women-I know the real reason they don’t--at least the men that is. The men that don’t were the types that these gals wouldn’t give the time of day in high school and so they still can’t move on.
Why do leftwingers want to give international terrorists U.S. Constitutional rights, then whine when Americans that don't agree with them participate in the Tea Parties on April 15th?

I had to search this guys posts. Not only does he do stand up like all good Repulicans he does Irony...
Anyone notice that while Swine Flu is spreading badly, Obama is out playing golf instead of being on the case? Oh that’s right, according to loudmouthed, fat, ugly thin-skinned leftist Canadian dickhead, Oklad, Obama is a multitasked. I guess Obama is the first U.S. President that actually can do that. But imagine if Bush or any Republican president was playing golf while Swine Flu was being spread what the left-wingers response would be? They’d be hysterical and angry and foaming at the mouth. Thin-skinned Obama-bot MJ loves to foam and praise Obama but will probably say what is wrong with Obama playing golf you wing nut? I didn’t say he should play golf you jackass. Leftwingers thinking there is nothing wrong with Obama playing golf while Swine Flu spreading are engaging in a DOUBLE STANDARD
Why do leftwingers want to give international terrorists U.S. Constitutional rights, then whine when Americans that don't agree with them participate in the Tea Parties on April 15th?

By the way NO I don't get your siggy. It's us Liberals who believe you should be able to teabag anybody you please.
Glenn Beck comes with facts and figures in hand. He is very articulate and specific with his arguments.
Again, the first rule of debate, is to address the issues being presented. Instead of smearing one and wishing them dead, I challenge Liberals to make specific arguments against his specific points. You can't.
This is elementary debate, every 10th grader knows this.
The point is, Liberals never stay on point and address the arguments, point by point. Why? because they cannot. The man from Acorn was the one talking over with diversion tactics and not answering any of Beck's specific questions.
Which proves the point. Liberals are dumbed down who think with emotion and not intellect.
Beck is a learned man who speaks with clarity and a he has a great sense of humor.
The angry miserable liberal will never get it, and men like Beck should stop casting pearls of wisdom before ignorant swines.

yep, my GF & I do have our fun ;)
and the wingnut southern socials will legislate & adjudicate our HETROsexual consenting behavior to advance their homophobic (& anti-women, black, hispanic, & scientific) agenda.
This is how the southern socials DESTEROYED the reagan coalition by driving-off conservative dems, centrists, indies, & moderate gop.
in doing so the gop has utterly collapsed at the federal & state level outside the old south.
No, you’re dead wrong, ohioorrin.
The GOP hasn’t collapsed at the state level, we’re still at the same level that we’ve always been.
The reality of America’s situation is that - Americans, God’s people in general, have abandoned God’s law, and have also let doctrines of demons to be taught in our schools for over 50 years.
So with 50 years of atheist, secularist, revisionist history in our schools, as time continues to pass under this type of government rule it will eventually come to head and God will say enough.
To you, ohioorrin, it’s all about party lines…because you are a reprobate…
I know, I shouldn’t be trying to explain that to you, because you’ll never understand it…but ya will, when reckoning day comes…you’ll see what a big mistake you’ve made. God will show you!

Earlier today, I detailed Mitt Romney's rather offensive remarks about Sarah Palin's inclusion on Time magazine's list of most influential people. Here's Mitt:
"I think there are a lot more influential Republicans than that [Time list] would suggest," Romney said. "But was that the issue on the most beautiful people or the most influential people?"
Zing! Well, as Tommy Christopher noted yesterday, Palin's supporters over at the site "Conservatives4Palin" have just released a new internet ad titled "There's a Bore in the Woods" that puts varmint-hunter Romney squarely in the crosshairs. This is getting ugly. Enjoy:
BACHMANN: Well, I tell you what I am concerned about are the current 19 and 20-year-olds that are going to hold this debt. And it’s the mother of all ironies, John and Brian, that the kids who voted en masse for Barack Obama are the ones being fitted with shackles and chains. And they’re going to wake up one morning and find out that their tax rate is 65% or higher. Who is going to get out of bed in the morning if you realize that two-thirds or more of your day is spent earning money? You are working for Uncle Sam and you keep very little.
This woman is bat shit crazy.
Joe the Plumber speaks out on same-sex marriage.
“I personally still think it’s wrong. People don’t understand the dictionary–it’s called queer. Queer means strange and unusual. It’s not like a slur, like you would call a white person a honky or something like that. You know, God is pretty explicit in what we’re supposed to do–what man and woman are for. Now, at the same time, we’re supposed to love everybody and accept people, and preach against the sins. I’ve had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn’t have them anywhere near my children. But at the same time, they’re people, and they’re going to do their thing.”

As obesity has become a growing problem in recent years, McDonald's and other fast food chains have been under increasing pressure to revamp their products and advertising with healthier alternatives. As part of this campaign, McDonald's has agreed to discontinue marketing to children under the age of twelve.
This to me is complete horseshit. Yes obesity is a growing problem but no McDonalds and fast food are not solely to blame. In fact they are a small small part of the blame. Kids have been eating McDonalds and drinking pop for ages and why is it that obesity is started to become a problem now? Because instead of eating the fast food and drinking the pop and then going out and running off the pounds in play Kids today come home and park their ass on the TV to play PS 3 and XBOX 360 or they are on the computer.
Kids eating habits haven't changed their physical activities have.

WASHINGTON -- Jack Kemp, the ex-quarterback, congressman, one-time vice-presidential nominee and self-described "bleeding-heart conservative" died Saturday.
His spokeswoman Bona Park and longtime friend and former campaign adviser Edwin J. Feulner confirmed that Kemp died after a lengthy illness.
Kemp had announced in January 2009 that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He said he was undergoing tests but gave no other detail.
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell called Kemp "one of the nation's most distinguished public servants, Jack was a powerful voice in American politics for more than four decades."
Kemp, a former quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, represented western New York for nine terms in Congress, leaving the House for an unsuccessful presidential bid in 1988.
Eight years later, after serving a term as President George H.W. Bush's housing secretary, he made it onto the national ticket as Bob Dole's running-mate.
With that loss, the Republican bowed out of political office, but not out of politics. In speaking engagements and a syndicated column, he continued to advocate for the tax reform and supply-side policies -- the idea that the more taxes are cut the more the economy will grow -- that he pioneered.
He was dead wrong of course. Still He was a good guy and as a football fan I have to make mention of this.
Restaurant manager Brenda Martinez says more than 100 people have flocked to the small town of Calexico on the California-Mexico border to gaze at the likeness of the Virgin Mary since it was discovered as the griddle was being cleaned.Among the awe-struck was a group of masked Mexican wrestlers who arrived Thursday for an exhibition at a nearby swap meet.
One, known as Mr. Tempest, says: "This is amazing. It's a true miracle."
Since the discovery, the griddle has been taken out of service and placed in a shrine in a storage room.

liberals think they own intelligence yet they cant even manage our economy and national security. how two years has made a difference. they go around telling people they can or can't succeed. they're very cliquish and material people. obsessed with money.
government school test scores! what a measure of intelligence. when you liberals stop finding ways to pit one group against another, including legislating the cutting off of success to people you feel are below you, let me know.
just wait until the liberals advance science and technology - that means it'll be easier for a mother to find a fault with her baby and abort it!
nobody gives a shit about wasteland blue states by the way. people are flocking to the south just in case you didn't know.
