College Football National Championship

VS

All thoughts on the game go here. BTW Notre Dame's cheerleaders are um...well let's just say in that phase Alabama has them beat to hell.

Counts Krystal Bawl

Alabama 23
Notre Dame 14

I think Alabama provided they're motivated (and there is reason to believe they are not) is just too good. However Notre Dame's defense will keep this game close. I am guessing it will not be an aesthetically pleasing game.

OK It's 28-0 Alabama at halftime. So yeah here's a picture of Alabama QB AJ McCarron's girlfriend Kathrine Webb. She's a Miss Alabama

35-0. Pretty soon I'll be taking request.

35-7 do you smell a comeback? Me neither.

Final score 42-14 Alabama.

2012 San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl Benefiting The Make A Wish Foundation.

BYU Vs San Diego State.

Announcers Carter Blackburn and Rod Gilmore so I may need my headache pills.

It's been a heavy troll day over at Newshounds. If they leave some goodness I will post it in Bold like this

Lynn Braddy commented 9 mins ago · Flag
I didn’t realize my comments were immortalized by the left. Gee you guys must be bored never having to defend your fraud-n-chief. Why no comments about the 600 blacks murdered in Chicago? Where has Obama been? It’s his community that’s being disorganized. A fraud and liar.

Oh Joy and racist Jemelle Hill on the sidelines.

It's 20 degrees and there are 7 inches of snow on the ground so why  not watch some football?

Unlike San Diego State BYU game of yore this one is going to have lots of running and defense. SD State has alread thrown a pick and BYU just almost threw one.

Kind of a shame there are so many empty seats with San Diego State playing at home.

What the world needs now is guns more guns. That's just one thing there's just too little of.-Tomorrow's NRA Press conference.

OK where is the flag on BYU? With what I have seen called on Nebraska how that is not a penalty?

And there is a field goal. 3-0 San Diego State.

And Gilmore and Blackburn start to bring the suck.

Lynn Braddy commented
Ellen, are you afraid to put your last name to this tripe you write?

Right now San Diego State is gouging BYU on the ground.

Time for some Bronco Mendenhall dick slobbering by Blackburn, Gilmore and Hill. That Bronco Mendenhall is such a great guy.

If this game continues like this BYU will be dragging ass  in the 4th quarter.

Back to Bronco Mendenhall. It is so great that a coach nobody else wants is so pure about looking at other coaching jobs.

San Diego State is really out playing BYU but they aren't taking advantage of it so far...but they go for it on 4th down and they pick it up.

You know if the Apocalypse happened now, it is the 21st in some places I would go watching football what are the odds?

Well another field goal for SDSU. 6-0. But they should be ahead by much more.

No Carter Blackburn you ARE NOT calling the Holiday Bowl.

Carter Blackburn thinks Bronco Mendenhall is Brad Pitt. I am not making this shit up.

Hey Joseph, can you prove you’re not George Soros? More probably, you are David Brock, Media Matters idiot. Or you might be the father or son that was stalking Palin. Or maybe you are that Cornell kid that hacked Sarah’s email account. Liberals are good at skirting the law. Isn’t it interesting that we’ve been able to read Palins 59,000 pages of Alaskan emails and we’ve yet to see Obamas transcripts, visa, college loan activity. college admission requirements. Obama is a fraud and liar.
And I wake up and San Diego State intercepts a pass and returns it for a touchdown but...block below the waist so SDSU gets the ball but not the Touchdown. A score here is already huge. BYU isn't going to score much in this game.

Why are you people trying to advertise on this site? You don’t even believe in capitalism. You should be bleeding the taxpayers out of their money, like NPR.

No points for San Diego State. They should be ahead 21-0 and they are up 6-0. Will they rue it later?

BYU has some offense! 38 yard pass down to the 6 yard line. 9 seconds left.

And of course BYU has to settle for a field goal which they make. 6-3 San Diego State at halftime. San Diego State should be ahead much more.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Uk huh what? BYU blocked a punt.

BYU going for it on 4th and 10.

Why do you call a timeout to punt?

If San Diego State can score a TD this game is over.

BYU is on something of a drive. if you notice I haven't been updating it's because this game sucks.

And BYU's drive fizzes.

And it's 6-3 San Diego State after 3.

With the score 6-3 and SDSU having to punt from it's own end zone Rod Gilmore thinks the door is open for BYU.

BYU gets to the San Diego State 3 yard line and SDSU get an interception at the goal line. that might be the game.

OK why in the blue hell did SDSU call a pass play there? Why? Why? Why?

The call on the field stands! So thanks to some really shitty play calling the BYU Cougars are now up 10-6 in a game SDSU should be up by at least 14 points.

I hope these 3 stooges talk about how the head coach of one of the greediest universities in America is so against greed.

OK San Diego State is just imploding now.

And of the fumble another BYU touchdown.

And a game that San Diego State dominated for 3 quarters and didn't score is now 16-6. BYU missed the PAT.

Oh Carter Blackburn fuck you and your damn fight songs.

Oh for fucks sake catch that.

And now I am eating my cold cut from Subway.

Oh by the way all the people in Massachusetts are liberals, just sayin.

I’ll be back next year when all you liberals are washing dishes at Dennys, and shaking salt on the fries at McDonalds. Can’t wait for Clinton to recover from her fake concussion and give us the truth on Libya, although she’ll probably say I don’t recall. I hope you guys make it through tomorrow so we can continue our discussion in 2013.
One thing BYU has done really well tonight is punt the ball inside the San Diego State 5 and keep them backed up.

Goodnight thank you for participating.BYU intercepts and runs the ball back for a touchdown.

And San Diego State throws another interception. Did he catch it? Do you care? I don't.

NO interception.

OK another Interception and this one counts.

And BYU in the victory formation 23-6 BYU. Uh...great game.

BCS National Chammpionship Game Thread

LSU
VS

Alabama

And it starts with the worst national anthem I have ever heard sans Carl Lewis or Rosanne. Kathy Lee Gifford you are off the hook.

So far we have 3 punts and one pulled Hamstring.

We has points. A long punt return sets up a Field Goal for Alabama 3-0 Bama.

3-0 Bama after one. They look much sharper than LSU. A lot of people bitching about this game because has predicted it's started low scoring, but in all honesty I'd rather watch this than say the Alamo Bowl. but then I thought the first game between these teams was good.

Alabama's woeful Field Goal kicking could be a factor. Bama droce down the field thanks to a fake FG that just barely picked up enough.  Replays showed he may have been short but it didn't matter because Alabama's 42 yard field goal was blocked. 3-0 Bama.

This is another game that feels like the team dominating the first half is going to do a lot of ruing after they lose the game. Alabama could be up 17 or 21- to 0 and they are only up 6-0.

That's a pretty big field goal to end the half for Alabama. They were totally dominant but lead only 9-0. Still 9-0 looks pretty good right now.

At halftime some schmo had 60 seconds and 5 tries to make a 40 YD Field Goal for a cash prize. He got 3 off and missed on all of them badly. If that were the Contessa She would have made it. I've seen her make 50 Yd Field goals so 40 wouldn't be a problem.

Alabama comes out and...kicks a field goal. 12-0.

I am going to go through this slowly to explain why Oklahoma State DOES NOT BELONG IN THIS GAME.

LSU was undefeated playing in the toughest conference in the country They obviously earned their way into this game.

Alabama is dominating the game. So they obviously belong in the game. Ipso Facto if Both these teams belong in the game Oklahoma State does not.

Alabama interception. LSU is going to have to switch QB's.

Alabama misses a Field Goal. totally dominate still only leads 12-0.

Another field goal! This one dead center from 44 yards.  15-0 Alabama.

OK The Game sucks here's Giada's Twitter Avatar.

LSU crosses the 50 but penalties and their usual fuckups lead to a 4th and 18 which of course they fumbled back to Alabama.

Alabama SCORES A TOUCHDOWN! REALLY! Then they miss the extra point of course. 21-0 LSU!

Thank Merciful heaven it's over! 21-0 Alabama Final

Late edit by Jonathan: There should have been a boxing ref to end this bloodbath. LSU can make any excuse they want, this was an old-fashioned, passionate ass-whuppin. What a stunning, almost beautiful, bare-knuckled performance by Alabama's defense.

Could not have put it better Jonathan.

Final Score And January 2nd Bowl thread

30 13

Well That Sucked. Anyway All thoughts and other Bowl Games Will Go Here. Well for Jonathan (if he chooses) and I. Sadly the comment section is out of commission until further notice.

Thank You Yogafrog Blogspot for the Picture of Lovely Ilia Calderon. It is her expression not her appearance that this game reminded of.

Edit From The Count: Apparently I am "on crack" according to on Twitter. My offense? Saying this:

Watching the Rose Bowl It's clear to my that at least one participant is highly over-rated. Erin Andrews.
Edit From The Count:

Well what started out as a day with a couple of clunkers ended with 3 instant classics. Penn State just wanting to get the season the hell over lost badly to Houston 30-14 though honestly it was a little closer than I feared. PSU is headed for some real trouble in the future with the Sandusky scandal still looming in the wings.

Nebraska totally out played South Carolina  in the first half and should have been ahead by a couple of touchdowns but a blocked extra point ran back for 2 pts, a fumble, and interception and a Hail Mary later a game that should have been 27-9 Nebraska was 16-13.  The second half Nebraska imploded and South Carolina being the better team got comfortable and dominated.

Didn't watch the Ohio State-Florida game so really have no opinion. I know the final was 24-17 Florida. Ohio State also has had a shit-storm of a year though their future looks much brighter than Penn State's.

Michigan State came back from a 16-0 deficit to beat Georgia in triple OT 33-30 in the Outback Bowl and saved some dignity for the Big 10. Kirk Cousins had his typical game. Lots of great play with some head scratching decisions but he made the play he had to make. Speaking of head scratching Georgia settled for a 45 yard Field Goal and didn't try to move the ball in the first OT. The field goal was no good. Very odd decision to not try and advance the mall and make the kick closer.

Oregon and Wisconsin played in a classic in the Rose Bowl and Oregon with their space aged uniforms won 45-38. I will argue with anybody who says this game hurt the Big 10. Wisconsin played even with a great Oregon team. They may have lost the game but they weren't failures.

And finally in a  game that just went final Oklahoma State beat Stanford in overtime 41-38. Proving the BCS got it's national title game correct and also proving it made some really good match-ups this year in bowl games. I know I'm suppose to hate the thing but hey it's the truth. Anyway Stanford had a short field goal to win in regulation and the kicker missed it BADLY. In overtime If you follow me on twitter you know I was saying Don't send him out a again. Well Stanford had three odd conservative play calls and guess what? Kicking is a mental thing. If you have a kicker still thinking about a kick he just missed a minute ago and he's got to kick it again he's going to miss again. And he did. Not quite as bad but it was still off. Then OSU hit a pass that was first ruled a Touchdown then down at the 1. From there OSU ended the game with a field goal of their own.

Let me just say this about the Stanford kicker. No football has ever been lost by one man...ever. You win as a team you lose as a team. He missed those kicks but if you watched that game you know everybody for Stanford did something to lead to that loss. Of course his Facebook page and (twitter if he has one) will be blown up with classy insults and even death threats. Anybody that does that crap to a college kid is a bigger loser than that kid will ever be and excuse my language but  FUCK YOU!

When your team loses it sucks. Yes there's a hurt there that non sports fans will never understand. All these hours later ask me If I am still pissed over Nebraska. Hell yes I am. But I would never bombard a college athletes with classless insults or worse death threats over a game. Anybody that does can rot in hell.

I'm Just A Little Wop Isn't Going To Buy You're Way Out Of This Joe.

I Know Nothing!

Saint Joe Paterno retired today as a horrid sex scandal brings down Penn State University. Joe for is part wasn't a part of the act of raping 10 year old boys himself but he did almost nothing to bring it to the attention of the authorities. The question now is does Saint Joe survive the rest of the year before he retires? 1000's of idiot Penn State students marched on his lawn in support of the coach sending the message loud and clear that pedophilia is fine and dandy at their college as long as they're winning games. Now we know what becomes of the children of people like Blackflon and his little Iowa buddy they go to Penn State and cheer on enablers to unspeakable acts. As somebody who never did think Joe Paterno was all that damned classy to begin with as horrible as I feel for the victims, the real victims not Joe, I am enjoying just a little the vindication. Even though I never thought Joe was half the hero he snookered others into believing he was even I didn't think he was this much a choad.

Update: Joe Paterno is out as head coach of Penn State University.

With all the support the child rapists apologists are getting tonight at Penn State you should rename it Blackflon University.

Saturday College Football And Whatever Else Thread

It's a bye week for Nebraska so I've got Saturday to sit back and enjoy with out having to get nervous or upset. Actually I kinda hate bye weeks. but alas we have to put up with them. Any I'll be back periodically through out the day to add thoughts on the days action. Note to troll(s) If you feel the need to post under the name of Bye week fan this week don't bother I will erase the posts as soon as I see them.

EDIT Denard Robinson just threw a pick 6 that may have sealed the game for Michigan State. The funny thing is the announce David Pasch had a shit fit. THAT TOUCHDOWN SHOULDN'T COUNT!!! THAT TOUCHDOWN SHOULDN'T COUNT!!!. He's clearly wearing his Maise and Blue. BTW how impressive is Mike Golic? To do Mike and Mike in the morning and be the head coach of Michigan! Impressive!

First Ever Big 10 Predictions. Week 1.

The honest truth? Most Big 10 teams are not taxing themselves in the opening week. That is true with most big time teams across the country. Yes there is the stray Oregon-LSU game on the docket but for the most part week 1 is pretty weak across the country. The Big 10 is no different. Who cares? I am just glad football season is finally here.

There are 2 notable exceptions to the rule of Big 10 teams fattening up on patsies: Minnesota and Northwestern. Northwestern is playing at Boston College which is pretty much a pick 'em game if NW QB Dan Persa plays. If not BC would appear to have a clear advantage. I am going with BC in a close one. The other exception is Minnesota, most likely the worst team in the Big 10, Opening up the Jerry Kill era by more than likely getting killed by USC at the Los Angeles Mausoleum . This is not vintage USC But they should handle the hapless Gophers with ease. Indiana is not great but they should handle Ball State. That game is being played at Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis though one suspects any Indy high school stadium would have been big enough. I also think Purdue could...could have some trouble with Middle Tennessee but should win the game with points to spare. Everyone else should have a fairly nice and easy walk through the park.

Anyway Here are the picks. As always take them for what they are. If you make any money off of these picks my fee is 60%.

Wisconsin 41 UNLV 6
Michigan State 49 Youngstown State 10
Nebraska 45 Chattanooga 14
Ohio State 37 Akron 7
Penn State 52 Indiana State 10
Purdue 34 Middle Tennessee State 21
Iowa 41 Tennessee Tech 3
Illinois 38 Arkansas State 17
Boston College 31 Northwestern 28
Southern Cal 38 Minnesota 14
Michigan 49 Western Michigan 24
Indiana 37 Ball State 17
