EtJ is A Teabagger

The basic tea party goer is what our Founding Fathers would be quite proud of. Our Founding Fathers would be classified as terrorists today. Fool americans deserve what is happening to them. The boob tube had turned the majority of fool americans into basic boobs. Looking for a little attention with no capability of thought. Between the boob tube and special ops, the tea party patriots have been infiltrated and made out to be a devisive bunch for the good of the criminals in charge of america's destruction. Our Founding Fathers had suggestions for what Patriots should do. Immediate action is recommended at this time. Or kiss your sorry asses good-bye.

Congrats to the Franken. We will now see if power and money will corrupt him... Failure to comply(America is more like Nazi Germany everyday), will see his demise. Classic MO for the true powers, that actually control america today.
Meanwhile americans will reach for their remote, root for their team of choice, eat, drink, or drug themselves silly. Let us not forget quibble over which party(one party system boys and girls) is gulity of america's destruction.
All is well fool americans, your brain-washing is complete. CHEERS !!

Senator Franken

MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - The Minnesota Supreme Court on Tuesday declared Democrat Al Franken the winner of a tight U.S. Senate race over Republican Norm Coleman, which should give Democrats the 60-seat majority they need to overcome procedural obstacles and push through their agenda.

Coleman has said in published reports he is unlikely to appeal the state court's decision to the federal courts. Under state law, the court's decision gives Franken the right to occupy the seat, which has been up for grabs since last November's election.

Minnesota Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty has said he will certify the election winner based on what the state court decides.

If the decision holds up, Democrats will control 60 of the 100 Senate seats -- enough to overcome Republican procedural roadblocks in a clear boost to President Barack Obama's agenda.

Democrats hold a solid majority in the U.S. House.

Bad news.

So we get the universities

Afraid not. We’ll just have to shoot it out and see who wins.

No.

We’ll just shoot it out and see who gets America.

We tried that. It was called the Civil War. It sucked. But the North (consisting of the industrial, commercial states, currently most of the Blue Northeast and Great Lakes states) won. The South (currently solidly red and hating Obama for the color of his skin) lost.

Jesus and his Father might want to slap a restraining order on the Reverend, just in case, he's one of the extreme right-wingers who (God forebid) decides to pump a few rounds into a person or persons that share a different viewpoint than him, then claim he did it for country and in the name of Christ and the Heavenly Father, both will have no known ties to this fundamentalist lunatic.

Mark Noonan Wants a Divorce

I didn't know we were married. Anyway, here's Noonan characterizing us traitorous, left-leaning commie worshipers and "real Americans." (What the fuck does that mean? I thought we were all Americans?)

We don’t like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we’ll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.

Hey, asshole - everyone hates war. What I really hate are unnecessary wars that are fought for profit.

You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell. You are however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.

How the hell did Oprah get thrown under the bus?

We’ll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We’ll keep the HOT Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO’s and rednecks. We’ll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.

On this, we agree. Ms. Palin is all yours!

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we’ll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we’ll help provide them security.

We’ll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We’ll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We’ll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We’ll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I’m sure you’ll be happy to substitute Imagine, I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We’ll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we’ll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Jerkoff....this is our country, too. Disagreement and difference of opinion is something to be celebrated, not seen in simple terms of us vs. them, good vs. evil. You would realize this, if you pulled your head out of your ass every once in a while.

The King of Pop has died.

This is fucked up. First First McMahon, then Fawcett, now Micheal Jackson.

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.

La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Update: Can't watch the news anymore, or TV for that matter.

Also: the jackasses at BFV are now pissing on his grave.

RIP Farah Fawcett

Farah Fawcett Passes Away

LOS ANGELES – Farrah Fawcett, the "Charlie's Angels" star whose feathered blond hair and dazzling smile made her one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1970s, died Thursday after battling cancer. She was 62.

The pop icon, who in the 1980s set aside the fantasy girl image to tackle serious roles, died shortly before 9:30 a.m. in a Santa Monica hospital, spokesman Paul Bloch said.

Ryan O'Neal, the longtime companion who had reunited with Fawcett as she fought anal cancer, was at her side, along with close friend Alana Stewart, Bloch said.

"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away," O'Neal said. "Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."

Man such a wonderful day I almost hates to go away...well not really. :)

Ok I don't know if I have time to tell this story or why you would even care but here goes. There is a Celtics blog called Red's Army that I frequent from time to time and really love the place. But I guess not everybody loves Red's army because a website popped up called Red's Army Is A Joke. You know the "Democrats" who call Rush and always agree with them? Well this guy claims to be a Celtics fan yet he calls himself Kobe after Kobe Bryant. No self-respecting Celtics fan would ever call himself Kobe. It just would not happen. I am proud to say that I have been called out and name checked on Red's Army Is A Joke. It's a real point of pride for me. The guy who runs it is...pardon the term...a real pussy. Also apparently a stalker. He follows members of Red's army everywhere they go. That is when he isn't whining about how hateful we are or bitching about our name calling or calling us names. "Kobe's" Latest bitch is that somebody else actually uses the name "Kobe" only in this case it's not in a "jeez I would love to wash your balls Kobe" manner that Kobe does...

They took a total of five callers including “jester00″ and who else? “kobewearsapurplethong.”

This guy is really a piece of work. He actually introduced himself as “KWAPT” aka “kobewearsapurplethong.” Didn’t he realize they had a real guest on the show. Classic stuff, even “jester00″ left the “00″ off when he introduced himself. Anyways “kobewearsapurplethong” asked two questions one being about some European guy that even Jessica couldn’t really talk much about. My opinion is he tries really hard to sound like he knows a lot and this might be one of those times and this time. Anyways Jessica quickly made the point about the European players that have spent anytime in green have been busts and pretty much shot down his idea with a quickness.

Now KWAPT is a friend of mine and he has posted here before I am pretty sure that he finds his name check as thrilling as I found mine. And like me I bet KWAPT wonders just how fucking unstable this guy is. BTW why dear God does "Kobe" insist that we who post at Red's Army are Right-wingers? I mean sticks and stones and all that but Right-winger? Right-winger? Me! It's obvious in addition to being a nut and a stalker he also has no clue what a right-winger is.

"Kobe" A Lakers Fan who calls himself a Celtics fan and a nutty cyberstalker.

Finally I am Not going to be around for a couple of days. I am going hiking in the bluffs. No actually I am letting some people use my house for a couple of days and the Contessa and I are going to a hotel until Saturday. I made the necessary arrangements to make sure I don't get robed of house and home. Hell If I have to do this I figured I might as well get a little R and R out of it. Plus since my boss is the reason I am losing my house for two days he kinda had to agree to pay me for not working Friday ha ha!!!

Transformers: The Worst Movie of the Summer

The good news: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen doesn't totally suck. The F/X department went all out on the look of the battling alien robots, the Decepticons (the baddies) and the Autobots (them's the good guys); they even brought in some new characters. Megatron - voiced by the great Hugo Weaving (Mr. Smith of The Matrix trilogy) - gets more screen time. And director Michael Bay knows how to put together an amazing spectacle of shit blowing up. He's like a kid who's been given the keys to a toy store, allowing imagination to run wild with ecstasy.

The bad news: Revenge of the Fallen wasn't very good, either. The charm that Shia LeBouf had in the first movie as the bumbling award teenager, Sam, is absent from the picture; along with the comic timing of Sam's parents (the 'family discussion' about Sam supposedly beating off in the first Transformers movie would do the writers of American Pie proud). That feeling in sharing Bay's excitement and kid-like, starry eyed wonder in the first blockbuster hit has turned his marvelous creations into a head-pummeling madhouse of horrors where things are constantly being destroyed for the sake of destroying. Even John Tuturro, back portraying his role as Simmons, who took the lines that were given and turned them into sheer delight and near-perfect comic timing, looks tired and embarrassed to be in this mess.

Revenge of the Fallen sends Sam Witwicky to college, departed from his hottie girlfriend, Mikaela (Megan Fox) and his Chevy Camero/Autobot guardian, Bumblebee, while Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots forge a alliance with the U.S. military to hunt down the remaining Decepticons. The 'plot' - you really can't call this horseshit of a script from Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who penned May's stellar reboot of Star Trek - takes Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots to Egypt to stop the Decepticons from finding an ancient device that can power another ancient device that can destroy the sun and harvest the lifeforce of the alien robots. You buying any of this crap? Didn't think so.

To paraphrase Peter Travers, movie critic of Rolling Stone Magazine - "Revenge of the Fallen has everything. Everything loud, dumb, violent, racist, and misogynistic that director Michael Bay can think of puking up onscreen." The action sequences serve little purpose but to leave a trail of destruction an becomes stale and unoriginal. Bay's movies aren't know for its solid acting chops, which I have come to accept, but this time 'round was so hollow and emotionless that it makes bay's other disasters - the insulting Pearl Harbor and the appalling Armageddon - look like they have been robbed by members of the Academy.

Fox was sizzling in the first Transformers flick, but was never cheapened to porn star status. Her, and Isabelle Lucas - a college student with the hots for Sam and a wicked tongue - could have been replaced by adult film stars Jenaveve Jolie and Jenna Haze and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

And the shameless, ignorant black stereotypes portrayed in Autobot newbies Skids and Mudflap (get this - both are illiterate, both love talkin' jive and street, and one of them have a golden front tooth) almost made me hang my head in embarrassment of the spectacle that was taking place in front of the screen. You can hear Bay shouting to the cast and crew: "Hey, more explosions! Megan, show a little more ass, toots! Shia, Josh [Dumael], and Tyrese [Gibson], less dialogue, more yelling you're lines! Megan, what did I tell you? Less talky, more jiggling your tits! And where the fuck are the explosions I asked for?! This is what my audience wants to see!"

There's still a long ways to go before the Razzies, but I won't be surprised if Revenge of the Fallen leads in all major categories in the end. It's Michael Bay at his worst, only this time dragging Spielberg (executive producer) and his kick-ass alien robots with him thought the grime and cow shit.

Ok, I take it back. Transformers 2 really did suck.

I know you have hear this on Countdown already but here is the email:

“One, tomorrow leave at 5 a.m. for New York and meetings. Will think about you on its streets and wish I was going to be there later in the month when you are there. Tomorrow night back to Philadelphia for the start of the National Governor's Conference through the weekend. Back to Columbia for Tuesday and then on Wednesday, as I think I had told you, taking the family to China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Thailand and then back through Hong Kong on world wind tour. Few days home then to Bahamas for 5 days on a friend’s boat for the last break of the summer. The following weekend have been asked to spend it out in Aspen, Colorado with McCain - which has kicked up the whole VP talk all over again in the press back home ...

Two, mutual feelings .... You have a particular grace and calm that I adore. You have a level of sophistication that so fitting with your beauty. I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificent gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the night’s light - but hey, that would be going into sexual details ...

Three and finally, while all the things above are all too true - at the same time we are in a hopelessly - or as you put it impossible - or how about combine and simply say hopelessly impossible situation of love. How in the world this lightening strike snuck up on us I am still not quite sure. As I have said to you before I certainly had a special feeling about you from the first time we met, but these feelings were contained and I genuinely enjoyed our special friendship and the comparing of all too many personal notes ...

Lastly I also suspect I feel a little vulnerable because this is ground I have never certainly never covered before - so if you have pearls of wisdom on how we figure all this out please let me know... In the meantime please sleep soundly knowing that despite the best efforts of my head my heart cries out for you, your voice, your body, the touch of your lips, the touch of your finger tips and an even deeper connection to your soul.”

I have a theory as to the trails he was really hiking up but since obviously I can't prove anything let's just say if it turns out he's a typical family values Republican politician I won't be shocked.

If the people of South Carolina care about their state they should get rid of this douche and replace him with Fred Sanford.
Well Now I can prove it can't I Marky? Let's see the Gov disappears on Fathers Day, Gov's people say he went on a nude hike...for 5 days no less! The Wife says oh fuck him I am not worried! He's a Republican a FAMILY VALUES Republican at that! Really it wasn't hard to see this one coming.

When this story first broke the Contessa asked me what I thought Happened and I said Margie's At The Lincoln Park Inn and he knows why she's there. Little did I know the Lincoln Park in was Buenus Aries.

WASHINGTON — On Jan. 23, 1973, when the Supreme Court struck down state criminal abortion laws in Roe v. Wade, President Richard M. Nixon made no public statement. But privately, newly released tapes reveal, he expressed ambivalence.

Nixon worried that greater access to abortions would foster “permissiveness,” and said that “it breaks the family.” But he also saw a need for abortion in some cases, such as interracial pregnancies.

“There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white,” he told an aide, before adding: “Or a rape.”

Well, let’s see … if you type in “Obama’s brother $1 a day” you come up with 1,120,000 search results … that’s One Million-One Hundred and Twenty Thousand.

So it must be true. He lives in Africa.

That would be like me saying that Bush was behind 9/11 because there's 24,300,000 hits on Google (actual count, btw) that say so; therefore, it must be true!

Are You Ready To Pay For The Health Care Increase Cynthia?

Credit the great folks at Think Progress

How stupid are Republicans? Meet Cynthia Davis State senator from Missouri (R) naturally.

In her June newsletter, State Rep. Cynthia Davis (R-MO) provided several “commentaries” to a press release from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services on a summer food program.

Who’s buying dinner? Who is getting paid to serve the meal? Churches and other non-profits can do this at no cost to the taxpayer if it is warranted. [...] Bigger governmental programs take away our connectedness to the human family, our brotherhood and our need for one another. [...] Anyone under 18 can be eligible? Can’t they get a job during the summer by the time they are 16? Hunger can be a positive motivator. What is wrong with the idea of getting a job so you can get better meals? Tip: If you work for McDonald’s, they will feed you for free during your break. [...] It really is all about increasing government spending, which means an increase in taxes for us to buy more free lunches and breakfasts.

Now having more than my share of experience with Missouri I can't say I am surprised they vote for idiots like this. But I have a few questions for Cynthia.

Are you willing to pay for the health care increase that will happen if kids are eating free McDonald's everyday?

Do you realize one meal a day from McDonald's wolfed down on a 15 minute break will not cure Hunger?

Furthermore, what you are proposing is considered a crime against humanity, according to International Crime Court.

For the purpose of this Statute, "crime against humanity" means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack[14]:

(a) Murder;
(b) Extermination;
(c) Enslavement;
(d) Deportation or forcible transfer of population;
(e) Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law;
(f) Torture;
(g) Rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity;
(h) Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender as defined in paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissible under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court;
(i) Enforced disappearance of persons;
(j) The crime of apartheid;
(k) Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.

Saturday Night Trolling

thank god for fox news

ACORN sucks, pretty simple they suck, commit voter fraud and just are a waste of taxpayers money,

Anytime a post starts like this next one you know some good old fashion trolling is about to commence.

What I see in these comments is a lot of name-calling, personal attacks, 'wearetheonlyarbitersofthetruth', and vitriolic viscousness without much in the way of facts being presented.

For the record, I believe that there is way too much name-calling and twisting of half-truths on both sides of the left/right debate.

Here's some facts that I do know:
part of the money I pay in US Federal taxes goes to ACORN (millions of our tax dollars);
ACORN refuses (to this point) to account for exactly where this money goes and how it is used;
among the followers of Saul Alinsky (author of "Rules For Racicals") were Wade Rathke and Barack Obama;
Rathke went on to join the SDS and later found ACORN;
Obama's community organizing in Chicago was based on Alinsky's methodologies ( http://bit.ly/19Zkwx );
Obama is bailing out the banking industry, the automobile industry, and the insurance industry;
with each bailout, the Federal gov't get a bigger piece of the bailee's pie;
Obama wants to socialize healthcare;
and
the Democrat-led congress wants to loan 100 billion of our tax dollars to the International Money Fund (can you say 'global bailout'?).

So based on all these facts, am I a conspiracy nutjob or are you happy to become more of a socialist country with every Czar that Obama appoints and every bill that Congress passes?

Both political parties have made way too many major mistakes that will cost us as a nation dearly now and in the future.

I know that most of you do love your country, as I do.
I would hope that every person in this country would start investigating on their own to find the truth; start thinking on their own; and realize that there is way too much being passed off as truth by both Democrats and Republicans when neither one is right.
Most of the truth is not on the left side of the box or the right side of the box -- it's outside the box that politicians create to keep us all from the truth so they can get more power over the people they are suppose to serve.
I hope we all wake up before it is too late.

Honestly after the cliched "name calling start" I didn't bother with the rest of the nonsense.

Some more...

Glenn Beck has more sense in his little finger that the pitiful brainpower of all the authors and readers on this pathetic site combined.

Give it up for Christ's sake. You look stupid!

Another reason why i'm a Democrat

Mark Noonan's post is just one more aspect of the current Republican party i've grown to fundamentally dislike about the party: This misplaced pedestal these self-righteous frauds place themselves on and the smugness they carry around, acting as is they and their policies are vastly superior to another when the people within the party are just as flawed and as fucked-up as the politician across the aisle and their politics. Just look at the title of Noonan's post: President Obama Finally Starts Acting Like an American. Excuse me, but who deemed you the judge on who's being a true patriot?

Paul Begala > Megan McCain

Confession: I'm a liberal who grown to like Megan McCain. At least she realizes that the GOP needs to be more inclusive and drop the family values charade they pull on American voters. That said - and as childish as it sounds, there's no other way to put it - Paul Begala flat-out slapped Megan McCain around. Easily one of the worst beatdowns on Bill Maher's show i've seen.

For taking a possible explosive incident and making SURE it turns into an explosive incident Ayatollah Ali Khamenei this Buds (light) for you!

How dumbassed is this!?

I don't get pro-life Catholics. I can understand their opposition to abortion, but teaching sex education to kids - the very thing that can prevent teen pregnancy and the number of teenage girls getting an abortion - that's a huge no-no?

Somehow or another, humanity managed to impart knowledge of sex to people without sex education for thousands of years. Somehow or another, people without the benefit of sex education yet managed to have sex. It seems to me that sex education cannot be other than propaganda in favor of ever earlier sexual activity, necessarily outside the bonds of matrimony. In other words, what we’re doing is diligently enslaving children to lust, and telling them that its a good things - we’re making slaves who will think that they’re ability to have sex makes them free. Meanwhile, real power will be held by those who pull the education strings. Its small wonder that people fight hard to defend their “privacy” (ie, ability to get away with illicit sex), but don’t raise a peep about plans to, say, have government decide their health care for them.

We need to stop this nonsense - sex education is a bane and free people don’t need it.

*Raises eyebrow*
So you would rather have an entire generation clueless when it comes to sex and relying on urban myths like 'the rhythem method?'

On this point I agree with you: There was no longer a point to this protest. Letterman's 2nd apology was acceptable (his first one totally sucked), Sarah Palin accepted the apology. This episode is over.

Gees Now I guess David Letterman can sleep at night.

Anyone find this really disturbing?

So I found this on a porn star's comment me page, and no, I wasn't watching this porn star's 'work,' if that's what you're thinking. I was only admiring the pictures on said site, nothing more. Don't judge me!

Question: Bree [Olson] I could sit and play with my d**k all day watching you do your thing, as a matter of fact i some times skip work to do it. How does that make you feel? As a matter of fact i am doing right now watching you f**k in the alley. You are f**ing hot. I think of you when f**ing my girl. How does that make you feel? I love when you talk dirty while doing your hot stuff. Your p***y rocks! You are one of my favorite. Can you one day do a scene with Brandi Belle. i love her too, i would love to join the two of you, while my girl watched. We could tie my girl up while i f**ed you, and brandi could lick my girls p***y, and you could lick Brandi's p***y. This sounds very hot... What do you think. XOXO your favorite fan Greg Keep talking while f**ing, it makes my d**k so hard and it makes me explode, i would love to drp aload in your mouth one day. later take care ?

First - I like watching xxx movies just as much as the next red-blooded male, but i'm not going to skip work to watch a porn star do her thing.
Second - This is why I don't leave comments on a porn site, no matter how much I 'admire' her work.

I'll Save This So I Can Bring It Out For A Laugh In 2012.

Left By The Ranger:

Barrack is way over his head. I think we can all agree on that one point folks.

He will be a 1 term president. You heard it here first.

Who is Barrack?

BTW Sergei somebody is using your name to post. I am 99 1/2 percent sure it wasn't you.

On President Obama

Let's get to the obvious: it's great to have a president who is articulate whenever he gives a speech. Its also damn refreshing to have a Commander-In-Chief that is willing to listen to all sides of an issue, rather than say its my way or the highway all of the time. The United States has been subjected to eight long years of an administration who's idea of diplomacy and the exchange of different ideas was basically do as we say or you're with the terrorists (in certain cases, if you disagreed with the agenda, you were either outed by Robert Novak, Scooter Libby, and/or Dick Cheney).

Having said that, Here's my take to my fellow liberals and President Obama himself:

To the liberals: I know you're disappointed that the President hasn't done some of the things we wold like (the defense of Defense of Marriage Act, not getting tougher on the banks, waterboarding-gate and not going after Bush administration officials, are some examples). I share your frustration, but we also have to remember one important detail - it's been almost six months since Barack Obama took office. The problems we're facing - from a recession to a health care crisis - won't be solved by Obama stealing Harry Potter's wand, and enunciating, 'Reparo,' and the economy will be thriving and Adam and Steve will be able to say "I do," legally. My honest guess is that he's picking and choosing his battles (e.g. - fix the economy and get Americans affordable health care now, get re-elected and tackle gay marriage and reforming how Wall Street does buisness in term two, possibly).

To the President: I know you're trying to get past the partisan and political divide that has poisoned the national debate for years by running as a president who'll reach out to both sides of the aisle, but in order for bi-partisanship to work, the other side must unclench their fist. The GOP, thus far, has been unwilling to do so. It's time to let the Republicans know that bi-partisanship is still on the table, but until they make the effort without acting like vindictive, shallow pricks, leave em' be. You have 60 votes (whenever Minnesota will seat Al Franken) in the Senate, a huge majority in the House of Representatives, not to mention the public on your side and an enthusiastic base eager to change our country. The Grand Old Party is, for the moment, irrelevant.

Also, I understand you're trying to the president for everyone, which is a noble goal, but at some point, you're going to have to take a strong stand on key issues we liberals voted for you on. In order to get health care and other legislation passed, you have to draw a line in the sand and say, 'this is what I, and the American people want, and this is what we're going to do. Don't like it? Tough shit.' In order to get done what needs to get done, sometimes you're going to have to risk pissing people in Congress off.

Why I Thnk PETA Is A Joke

WASHINGTON - The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the flyswatter in chief to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he's bedeviled by a fly in the White House.

PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

"We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals," PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. "We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals."

I have said this many times I agree with many of the aims of PETA but I think on the whole the group is a joke for these very reasons.

Dubaya's back!

We've missed you, Mr. President - not.

"I told you I'm not going to criticize my successor," he said. "I'll just tell you that there are people at Gitmo that will kill American people at a drop of a hat and I don't believe that persuasion isn't going to work. Therapy isn't going to cause terrorists to change their mind."

I'm not going to criticize my successor....but i'm going to criticize him anyway!

"Government does not create wealth," Bush said. "The major role for the government is to create an environment where people take risks to expand the job rate in the United States."

And yet, your policies helped make millionaires, Wall Street, big business, and defense contracting companies get even richer while single-handily blowing a billion-dollar surplus and transforming it into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

What Have Sarah Palin Wrought?

Here's videos of Palin supporters protesting David Letterman.

Translator Needed

Here we go again monitoring comments not the site.

Pointing out how FOX (O'Reilly) bashes left wing blogs for comments not the site would be relevant ,but right wing sites can have comments too IMHO. What is Daily KOS, Huffington only people aloud to comment?
Can I cite you for exclamation point abuse if we giving out tickets?
Its a simple debate about monitoring COMMENTS on Fox Nation blog vs. exposing their bias on their website or TV.

HUGE DIFFERENCE

You don't have to make it personal and bash me .

And NO I don't like FOX News or any of its personalities except there newest addition Tucker Carlson.

Another Bob Another Fool.

Ranger Bob, Suicide Bob now Bob from Brunswick. Who I am guessing is "suicide" Bob.

Note to Gooch and Satan. Your comments are in Italics to show they are not the ramblings of fools and are posted to make sense out of BFB's quotes.

To bad the Salon article ignores the fact that the military is also infiltrated by gangbangers, you know the type, bloods crypts, MS13.
NBC did an segment on his some time ago.
But leave it up to the biased media to only show the "blue-eyed devils".
The obvious hate for all things Angles, Celtic, or Germanic permeates through out the left wing media.
Salon magazine, what a joke to call this journalism
Every criminal organization in the country knows that the best prospective members are current or former military personel.
GangBangers, Outlaw Bikers have been recruiting members from the military for decades.
Seems that Salon is participating in fear mongering, ignoring the truth and showing that they are willing participants in journalistic racism.

.

They've been growing up new members without tattoos and obvious marks in order to infiltrate the ranks of normal soldiers. Once discharged they carry the training and know how into private life. There is the seed of the upcoming wave of Rightwing domestic terrorism,

Wow,you sure know alot about the right-wings plan to over-throw the goverment, maybe a litle to much?

Enlighten me o liberal tool. Exactly what is the connection of Fox Nation to the Nazi movement.
And dont give me any lame ass cut-n-copy of what someone else posted on Fox Nation.

Judging from the comments on here, I can really get a sense of the Fear that the left has of these "toy soldiers".
As your dear leader marches this country towards fascism, taking over buisnesses, banking institutions, and the medical field. The left wing media provides a smokescreen of race baiting and fearmongering.

Remember dear commrades, Hitler was a communtity organizer too.

I'm sorry for you, It must be difficuclt to live in fear all of your days.
When you learn to judge people by the content of their characters and their open-handedness, maybe you will learn not to be afraid of people of European descent.
They are both groups of white people who blame all of the world's ills on non-white people (and liberals), intentionally fomenting anger and hate within their ranks so that hopefully someday they can use this build-up of hate as a force to establish white dominance over all the non-white cultures of the world. (At least that's what I've gathered from my own personal observations.)

Now that is a truly Racist remark.

You sir, Are consumed with fear, one can only feel sorry for you.
Michael Richards better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld does make
a good point.

This was his defense speech in court after making racial comments
in his comedy act.

He makes some very interesting points... Someone finally said it...
How many are actually paying attention to this?

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans,
Arab Americans, etc.

And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and
sneer in my direction.

You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,'
'Whitey,'
'Caveman' ... and that's OK.

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King
Day.
You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have
Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have the NAACP. You
have BET...
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be, racists.
If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR, lives
we'd be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce,
and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays
for that??
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but
any color can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students
scholarships ...You know we'd be racists.
There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US . Yet
if there were 'White colleges' That would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for
your race and rights.
If we marched for our race an
d rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not
afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
I am proud... But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites
can be racists??
That's why we have lost most of OUR
RIGHTS in this country.
We won't stand up for ourselves! BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!
It's not a crime yet . but getting real close!

Racism Run Rampant

Been following the steady trickle of unabashedly racist asides from GOP stalwarts in the direction of the Obama administration and family alike?

First we had the South Carolina GOP activist who compared Michelle Obama's ancestors to a gorilla...later issuing a non-apology-apology to "anybody who was offended" and claiming that he was referring to her position on evolutionary theory - a matter upon which she seems never to have stated an opinion publicly.

Then we had an aide to a Tennessee GOP state senator sending out an e-mail photo collage of all 44 U.S. Presidents....except that the final position in the collage is a black box with two eyes peering out from the background, and nothing else. Ha, ha, ha - how funny is that? And not even a non-apology-apology this time: only an admission that she "sent it to the wrong list." Oopsie.

And then back again to that bastion of good taste and interpersonal aplomb, South Carolina, where another "GOP operative" tweeted that Obama will tax aspirin at 40% "because it's white and it works." At least he had the good grace to issue a "real" apology...though under the circumstances, its sincerity can be considered dubious at best.

What is feeding this flurry of the kind of comments that used to be beyond the pale, no pun intended? Is it that having a black President in office is drawing all the latent racism in the country to the surface, like iron shavings to a magnet? Is it the talk radio inflammatory speech making these people - all in party or government positions, notably - think that it's OK to express themselves in this fashion? Is it the free-wheeling nature of e-mail and Twitter and Facebook meeting with people of innately poor judgment? Or some combination of all the above?

I'm not sure I know the answer, but I do know that there seems to be a marked rise in all of this, lately - and not just from the likes of Michele Bachmann and her ilk - and I wonder why. What I do know is that it bodes nothing positive...

Helen Boosalis 1919-2009

From The Lincoln Journal Star

Helen Boosalis, pathfinder, trailblazer, Lincoln’s first female mayor and 1986 gubernatorial nominee, died Monday.

Boosalis leaped hurdles, tore down barriers and wrote history during her 89 years.

Beginning with her election to the City Council 50 years ago, Boosalis walked point -- or, more accurately stated, ran point -- for women in politics.

After 16 years on the council, she was elected mayor in 1975 and served two terms.

Boosalis was the Democratic flagbearer in the first-in-the-nation matchup of major party female gubernatorial candidates in 1986, losing to Republican Kay Orr.

After that defeat, she continued to play a leadership role in national and state organizations as diverse as historic preservation, consumer advocacy and Arbor Day.

Boosalis was chairwoman of the board of directors of the American Association of Retired Persons in 1996-98.

“I want to help encourage people to go beyond what they think they’re capable of doing,” she said during an interview six months after losing the gubernatorial election.

“That’s what they did with me,” she said.

“You can accomplish what you didn’t dream was possible. Take a little risk. Be prepared. Set your goals high.”

Her defeat in the 1986 gubernatorial election to the horrid Kay Orr was disastrous for this state and America.After 4 years of Orr making mistake after mistake the state was on the brink and elected Earl B. Nelson Governor. I need not tell you the thorn Earl B. Nelson has become in our sides. RIP Helen B. She was one of the good ones.

2008-2009 NBA champions

Yes it's not over and I suppose this could turn into one of those Dewey beats Truman deals but let's be honest.

Now it's official.

Congrats Jonathan.

They're as mad as hell and they're not going to take it anymore!

I, or course, am talking about David Letterman's joke about Sarah Palin's kid getting knocked-up by Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees. Now the conservatives want him.....(drumroll, please)......fired from his gig as hos of The Late Show on CBS.

Sebastian Gray at HillBuzz has been giving lessons this week on how to get David Letterman fired for his rape jokes about Gov. Sarah Palin’s 14-year-old daughter, Willow.

Today he has a post explaining that Republicans do not have the same tenacity as Democrats in working the system to get what they want — in this case, persuading CBS to fire David Letterman. He is correct. However, there is a bonanza of empowerment in it for Republicans if we make this a fight we are determined to win.

Sebastian says it will take 30 days of daily letter-writing to CBS and Letterman’s advertisers. That’s because for the first two or three weeks, they’ll just wait for the tempest to blow over. Not only do we have to keep it up, we have to make it build. This is our line in the sand. Letterman MUST BE FIRED NOW!!!

So I take it Jay Leno and Bill Maher should be protested as well? Both comedians have made jokes about the Governor of Alaska and her daughter, Bristol.

Furthermore, Letterman didn't mention Palin's 14 year-old, Willow when making that joke. She did that all on her own. Letterman's joke was tasteless (IMO, political leader's kids are - or should be - out-of-bounds), but Palin is out to make this bigger than what it needs to be.

Game 5 Of The NBA Finals

Ok I can't think of one good reason to watch but maybe you can. As Jonathan suggested maybe I could watch to bitch at the 2 1/2 hour blow job the announcers will give Kobe but even that is getting old.

Um anyway here's the theme to Branded. Not sure what it has to do with the game tonight but it's pretty damn cool

Time to Put Pat Buchanan Out to Pasture

OK, for all that he's allowed to free-range rant on Tweety's show, and Rachel Maddow's occasional tolerance of "Uncle Pat" on her program (he seems mercifully to have disappeared permanently from Countdown)...is it time finally for Pat Buchanan to leave MSNBC, if not the pundit scene in general, for good. The confirmation process for Judge Sotomayor's nomination to the Supreme Court is exposing his old-school bigotry to the bare bones, and it's not pretty.

From a Saturday 6/12/09 article on Human Events.com (apologies for linking there, and h/t to Think Progress for the heads-up):

Though the Obama media have been ballyhooing her brilliance -- No. 1 in high school, No. 1 at Princeton, editor of Yale Law Review -- her academic career appears to have been a fraud from beginning to end, a testament to Ivy League corruption.

Two weeks ago, The New York Times reported that, to get up to speed on her English skills at Princeton, Sotomayor was advised to read children's classics and study basic grammar books during her summers. How do you graduate first in your class at Princeton if your summer reading consists of "Chicken Little" and "The Troll Under the Bridge"?

Setting aside the "Obama media" throw-away snipe, first we have here the classic screed against east-coast-academic-elite-schools...something you somehow never hear trotted out when it's a GOP son of privilege whose diploma or credentials are in the spotlight. Buchanan is suggesting that only first-language speakers of English can achieve academic excellence on their own merits. Did it not occur to him that you really don't and can't achieve top honors in your class at Princeton, or the privilege of editing a publication like the Yale Law Review, as mere window-dressing? Has the notion that this talented jurist might have worked really, really hard at her subject matter flown through the empty space between his ears so fast that it never had a chance to make an impression?

I mean, if all Ivy League schools were all merely about making themselves look good to influential families and powerful coalitions in society, wouldn't they have cheerfully promoted George Jr. along with unearned high marks - hey, he could be valedictorian: the clan Bush would like that and maybe donate more $$! - rather than the grudging "Gentleman's C" (telling term, that) he received? Sadly, no. They have reputations to maintain, and that means a certain standard in grading. You don't get to the top of the class by B.S., Pat, no matter what color your skin or version your genitalia.

and continuing...

...Sotomayor got into Princeton, got her No. 1 ranking, was whisked into Yale Law School and made editor of the Yale Law Review -- all because she was a Hispanic woman. And those two Ivy League institutions cheated more deserving students of what they had worked a lifetime to achieve, for reasons of race, gender or ethnicity.

This is bigotry pure and simple. To salve their consciences for past societal sins, the Ivy League is deep into discrimination again, this time with white males as victims rather than as beneficiaries.

[snip] ... were it not for Ivy League dishonesty, Sotomayor would not have gotten into Princeton, would never have been ranked first in her class, would not have gotten into Yale Law, nor been named editor of Yale Law Review, and thus would not be a U.S. appellate court judge today or a nominee to the Supreme Court.

Again, in his insistence that Sotomayor leapfrogged many more deserving candidates - all of whom, apparently, were white and male: imagine that! - to earn not just an entre to her educational opportunities but her subsequent academic kudos, Buchanan displays a mindset which not only begins from the implicit viewpoint that minority or under-represented demographic groups are somehow inherently less suited to rigorous academic environments, but further suggests that any success those groups achieve in those environments cannot possibly be on their merits: instead, solely because of the demographics that he believes gave them improper admission to the playing field. So he belittles every group but white males not once, but twice. Their gender or ethnicity makes them unworthy by default, and those factors can then be blamed for their achievements and any subsequent recognition of same. Women and anyone not Caucasian (much less BOTH) can't win for losing, literally, in Buchanan-world.

But what about Sotomayor when a Republican President - Bush 41 - put her forward to serve on the federal bench? No less than the Washington Times reports that she "sailed through" hearings and won both committee approval and Senate confirmation unanimously. Nice trick for a completely unqualified candidate...or were all those (primarily) white, male Senators wrong, Pat?

The same article, discussing Clinton's nomination of Sotomayor to the U.S. Court of Appeals, acknowledges a rockier road during that process (hmm, maybe something to do with having a Republican Congress but a Democratic President, do you think?) but notes that she was confirmed at a comfortable 67-29 margin by the Senate..."and the 29 "no" votes came despite not a single senator speaking out publicly against her in either the committee or on the floor...The sole reason given for opposing Judge Sotomayor's elevation came from a Senate Republican aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity, who told the New York Times that year that they were worried about confirming her for an appeals court slot because it 'puts her in the batter's box to be nominated to the Supreme Court.' "

That's interesting. You could even interpret that sentiment to suggest that at the time she was up for the appellate court, the party predisposed to oppose her already thought she was qualified, and therefore likely, to be put forward for a future Supreme Court vacancy.

I thought it might be useful to look back at what Buchanan had to say about Bush 43 nominee-turned-withdrawee, Harriet Miers. And while he made many valid statements about her lack of qualifications, he also said (in another article on Human Events):

But her qualifications for the Supreme Court are non-existent. She is not a brilliant jurist, indeed, has never been a judge. She is not a scholar of the law. Researchers are hard-pressed to dig up an opinion. She has not had a brilliant career in politics, the academy, the corporate world or public forum. Were she not a friend of Bush, and female, she would never have even been considered.

[snip] ... A paper trail is the mark of a lawyer, a scholar or a judge who has shared the action and passion of his or her time, taken a stand on the great questions, accepted public abuse for articulating convictions.

So, in Sotomayor's case, her long history of rulings from the bench is to be dismissed, because she somehow "really didn't earn the privilege of delivering them." Yet, in Miers' case, her lack of any kind of judicial experience or record is grounds for booting her consideration to the curb?

Own up, Buchanan. At the end of the day, you are a bigot, pure and simple. Anybody who doesn't look like you, dress like you, hold your opinions as his own (I won't even suggest "her" opinions: that is clearly pointless) plainly doesn't deserve whatever prominence, regard or success that individual has achieved. Because apparently that has happened at your expense. Poor, downtrodden, overlooked, discriminated-against You.

Enough whining about the passing of the world you knew. It is past...and a good thing, too. It was a world based on opposition to whole groups of people based on trivia. It was a world of discrimination based on the universe's random nature. You would return us to a world where (white) Father Knows Best, (white) Mommy stays home to dust and cook, good little (white) children pray on their knees every night to the same (white-) bearded sky apparition, and everybody else knows their place and shuts up.

I'm very glad your world is gone. Now it's time for you to go with it. Your diatribes belong more at the corner cafe or the park bench, for the private entertainment of the other relics who share your views, than they do on the airwaves. Please take them there. Soon.

He's A Smart "Libeal"

What's a Libeal?

libeals like to play the caring, comforting card, but thrive of things like this so they can do what they often critizize. Blame the others.

A Troll And Ellen

BTW: could you please be so kind as to provide links to similar apologies for what the Republicans and/or Foxies said about Chelsea Clinton ...

Letterman did not apoligize. Since the election he has made over 100 jokes about Palin. What is he and you scared of?

Letterman didn't marry the mother of his son until he was what 5 years old?

He's an asshole. And the libs are scared of a forceful Republican woman.

Ha ha!
Sandy, I am not scared of Palin. I so hope she's on the GOP ticket in 2012. I can't wait to hear more about her views on foreign policy and to see how she and her family (including the sister-in-law/burglar and the secessionist-supporting husband) prove to us again what living examples they are of conservative family values.

If you're so offended by Letterman, I'm sure you'll want to spend your time going after Limbaugh rather than hanging around here, with people you disagree with.

Sorry, Hon, but your side doesn't get to spend 23/6 smearing Democrats with the vilest of attacks and then whine "Meanie!" when the shoe is just slightly on the other foot.

Go call a whambulance or something but find another forum for your hypocritical, manufactured outrage.

Congratulations To The Pittsburgh Penguins

2008-2009 Stanley Cup Champions. I would be lying if I said I really cared but it's a great honor.

Friday Open Thread.

It would seem as if Murphy's law has set in this week. I was suppose to go downtown tonight and watch the cigar roller from La Gloria Cubana but it's raining like Mofo out right now. Thankfully it's suppose to stop by 5 O'clock or so. Not only is there a cigar roller from La Gloria but supposedly the Tobacco shop has special deals going on for La Gloria and those are the Count's favorite cigar.

As penitence for dragging the Contessa to the cigar roller I have to caddy this weekend for her IF we get a dry day. If not I have to caddy next week. My Brother's fiance is a golfer and he chose to take up the sport to share her interest. My Wife is a golfer and I thought about taking up the sport but decided against it for 2 reasons. I do not have the temperament for it. I hit two bad shots I get pissed I hit 50 bad shots. And I just thought there was no more need for me to show interest in all of her passions as there was for her to show interest in all of mine. As somebody who needs a lot of space I recognize others also need that space. So I just said Golf is your thing go ahead and knock a ball around for an afternoon and pretend you're hitting me with the club. If you want to play put put call me. Plus, and I suspect this isn't true of my Brother I don't mind not being as good at something as my wife. Shit she's been taken out to play golf since she was 5. She played competitively in high school. I have played the par 3 18 hole course at the put put place. But we always have bowling...that's right she kicks my ass at that as well.

Anyway open thread Friday.

BTW ET I have some questions for you. Is Sarah right? Does Dave Letterman owe you an apology?

The s*$t you have to believe to be a Christian

To be honest, the reason why I usually called myself a Christian when I was young was because I thought if I said that some of the things we have to believe (Noah's Ark and how he got two of ever species to get on a boat and reproduce, God making the world in seven days, etc.) sounded silly, I thought was a big no-no. Then came fundamentalists like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson who preached the Word of God one minute, then preached that Jesus hates gays and liberals and that Jesus wants us to give money to said preachers the next, and by that time, I didn't care what the reaction was, I was completely disillusioned from the frauds who stood in my TV, claiming to messengers from God. Now as I read Leo Pusateri's and Congressman Randy Forbes' rant on how we are a Christian nation - add to it, the mindless chatter from BFV bloggers like Mark, the Reverend Jeremiah and his alter boys frm marine and js02 - i'm glad I left a religion that I really didn't feel as if I have any connection with anyway.

Leo, a few points points:

1. We are not -- I REPEAT, NOT -- a Judeo-Christian nation. If we were, the Founding Fathers would have written in the Constitution that Christianity be a state religion. We are however, a nation that beleives that we have the freedom to practice whatever religion we choose, and not to practice at all. We accept all faiths, but don't endorse any.

2 (and this is very important). - Just because the vast majority of Americans consider themselves Christian, it doesn't mean we are, in fact, a Judeo-Christian nation! It just means many Americans align themselves with Christianity. That's it.

For the record: i'm agnostic who believes in God and the teachings of Christ, but believes that organized religion is just another way to control the masses.

Anyway, Leo is free to come onto this site and disagree with me if he so wishes to.

Game 4 NBA Finals Open Thread

Remember when Janet Napolitano's office said that the biggest threat to America was right wing extremest? Jeez that didn't turn out to be right didn't?

What I found telling was the reaction from the nutcase right. If you have multiple children and something in your house gets broken line up your children and just say somebody broke this and I can almost guarantee you the that the child(ren) who yell it wasn't me I didn't do it! Especially if they do so immediately after you get done speaking is the child who did it.

The fact they got so outraged and defensive proves not only was Janet right but the right-wing gasbagosphere not only knows it's the truth but they are apart of it.

Anyway from that onto Game 4. Or anything you wish to discuss.

More Craziness From Ralph

somebody is killing cats in Miami which is of course not a laughing matter but because Coral Gables ( home to the University Of Miami) has a Democratic headquarters Ralph has put 2 and 2 together and again come up with 6. Hillary is killing the cats. Why is Hillary killing cats in Miami? Ralph doesn't quite say. Is he real, mentally unstable, or fake and really mentally unstable?

NBA Finals Game 3 And Other Random Crapola

Well will Orlando make this a series?

They need to win all 3 games in Orlando to have a prayer in this series.

It's another picture perfect post card night in Omaha and I am losing the fight with temptation.

High Noon on the Tube and I always thought this movie ended wrong. He should have thrown the star down, put Princess Grace on the wagon told the driver to take her and then walk off. Now I am not so sure he shouldn't have left. Not to be a coward but because nobody in that town was worth fighting for.

Damail Loves Her Some Sarah

"Americans totally rejected her values..."

She wasn't running for president. John McCain was.

Since you are unable to respond without insulting anybody who DARES to disagree with you, I will spell it out: Sarah Palin brought some much-needed energy into the McCain campaign.

You are thoroughly wrong when you say he was in the running until he picked Palin. The polls show they were leading slightly right after the convention. When the economy tanked shortly afterwards, that's what doomed their chances.

Sarah Palin's political future is bright. Fact.

So I guess by Damail's logic if not for the energy of Sarah Moosejaw McCain would have lost by 20% instead of the 10% he did lose by. And by the way didn't damail just totally contradict herself with these two statements? She wasn;t running but neither was he until she showed up.

The View From My Ass

Warning: This a shitty effort. It was meant to be twice as long and I ran out of gas. Sorry.

Do you ever feel like God is taunting you? I remember walking down the river walk in San Antonio before the Alamo Bowl with the Contessa when we were dating. It was the first real vacation we had taken together and as we were walking going the other direction was a brunette about 5' 10" wearing a Michigan State shirt and hat and I remember thinking good one God. Well she was thank goodness a Michigan State fan at least and not a Nebraska fan. Thank goodness for small favors. Anyway after smoking 3 cigars last week I decided that this week NO CIGARS! So what does Oprah do? Starts the week off with a masterpiece 68 degree day. A breeze, clouds but no rain. It was the kind of day that people today call Cold but the kind of day the Count calls perfect. The day had go out on the deck and smoke written all over it. Making matters worse is the fact that I actually have some good cigars put away in the humidor. I got some La Gloria Cubana and Hoyo De Monterrey cigars in the humidor and those things are the nectar of the Gods. I even have one La Gloria Cubana Serie R. sitting in there. A bute of a cigar. And they are all just crying out smoke me! smoke me! smoke me! look at me! look at me! don't I look good? smoke me! It's 68 degrees out your kinda weather...and you know you want to smoke me! Man I tired everything to get my mind off of not smoking tonight. I even watched half of One Life To Live with the Contessa before she kicked me out for complaining about how stupid the show was and how much it sucked. Then I had a choice between CNN, Fox News and WWE Monday night Raw... HHH IS BACK!

If you buy a book from the Store, or anything from anywhere for that matter, pay attention to the price sticker. I bought Bill Russell's new book Red And Me My Coach And My Life Long Friend from Borders.

Anyway the book, which is not large by any mean to begin with, was priced $24.95. OK I wanted to read it I have looked forward to it for a while now. Well Borders put a sticker on it that said $26.95. So I paid $2 more for a book that at 175 pages in hardly small print was overpriced to begin with. Anyway I caught the mistake after I threw the receipt away. Anyway last week to get even I decided I would make my football magazine run at Barnes And Noble and became a member of their whatever club. But then the lady there kinda pissed me off as well. As I was paying for my magazines she says..."would you like to join our club the membership discounts work on magazines as well". As if because I was only buying Magazines this time around I never ever bought books. Oh Well. As for the book itself after bashing critics last weeks this week I will agree with one. The review in Sports Illustrated mentioned that Russell A. was too hung up on race and B. used the word tribe entirely too often. That was spot on. Here is the book in short. I was a black man who grew up in the South and Oakland projects who never got along with my white coaches. Red was a Jew from Brooklyn who became my friend because he allowed me to do what ever I wanted. Him from his tribe and me from mine. The book is not bad by any means and as a fan of the Celtics who considers both men heroes it was a necessary read but you may want to wait until it's in paperback and it's not a replacement John Feinstein's wonderful Let Me Tell You A Story. (A Lifetime In The Game)

Classic Sinatra II came out this week and with it some justice for the consumer. Classic Sinatra was a 20 track "Greatest Hits" packaged from Sinatra's Capital era that was released in 2000. In other words it was what most people consider the best of the best of Sinatra. It has sold 2 million copies so far. So now 9 years later The Sinatra family put out Classic Sinatra II with 21 tracks (20 previously released) 1 that hasn't been) But the Sinatra's do store exclusives where if you buy the CD at a certain store you get a different exclusive edition" Nancy "Boots" Sinatra says that these are the stores Idea but I believe that they do them because several people get multiple editions of a CD to get all of the different versions. Even though the exclusive bonuses are usually minimal. Hell I have even done this once or twice myself if the exclusive was good enough and the price was cheap. Well Classic Sinatra came out and only Target had a store exclusive. 5 extra tracks. it wasn't announced until the day the disk came out and many people had it pre-ordered. So for many of us if you wanted the "extra" tracks disk you would have to buy the same disk twice. Well the disks at Target that were suppose to have the extra Tracks and claimed that they had the special tracks...didn't have the special tracks. Several people on Sinatra boards are complaining. Boots says the problem is being fixed and all of Target's CD's are being sent back. Ebay now has people ripping people off with "rare" editions of Classic Sinatra II that contain the error.

This is why I about fell off my chair laughing when I saw Boots Sinatra said she hated Bootlegs because they kept food off of her table and why I don't lose a moments sleep when I come in possession of one. I do not question the decision to put out a CD with songs that many Sinatra fans already have. because many also do not. The first sold 2 million copies and who knows how many of those people discovered Sinatra through that disk? A volume 2 only made sense. But their little plan to get people to buy multiple copies backfired and thank God for that. By the way. Classic Sinatra II with out many of the "signature sings and hits" that were on Classic Sinatra I is the better CD for that very reason. There are some "hits" on Classic Sinatra II like too Marvelous For Words, Love And Marriage, High Hopes, I've Got A Crush On You. But what's makes Classic II the better listen is the non hits. I get along with out you very well, Here's that rainy day, our love is here to stay etc. It's just a better listen to these ears. I found the bonus tracks that were suppose to be included and made a disk with the bonus tracks. I even added another song " So easy to remember but so hard to forget" It's an ultra rare Count exclusive edition.

Anyway There maybe a part 2 coming but I am tired.

as always
