And A Happy Easter

I am a believer. Many of you are not I  know and that is perfectly fine. It is an individual choice. I am not a believer to judge, preach, save or to pass judgement on anyone with the exception of one person, myself. Especially the save part. A belief in  something better as a reward for surviving our earthly travel is what has saved me from me on so many occasions. And for that reason I choose to believe in my Lord and savior.

From 32 To 16.

NCAA Tournament  Weekend  Edition. All thoughts on Saturday and Sunday's games go here...

Ok over on Gonzaga messageboards they are actually calling for the firing of Mark Few. Yeah I think every team should fire their coach after every loss.

March Madness Thread

The 2013  NCAA Men's basketball tournament got started Tuesday with a great game between  Liberty and North Carolina A&T with the later winning by a mere point.

The Underrated Gaels of  St. Mary's beat the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee  State.

Wednesday James Madison  beat Long Island-Brooklyn  and La Salle ran past Boise State.

Thursday things get started in he tournament in earnest. All thoughts and reactions to Thursday's and Friday's games go here.

For the record like  the President I have Louisville and Indiana however unlike the President I like Louisville.

Thoughts From Day 1.

Davidson should have pulled the first big upset of the tournament but crapped their drawers to let Marquette steal a victory.

It rarely works out this way but Wichita State's relatively easy win over Pittsburgh would seem to bode well for Creighton tomorrow against Cincinnati. Pitt and Cinci split two games each winning at the others place while Creighton beat WSU 2 out of 3. Always glad to see Steve P. fail.

Gonzaga didn't exactly quiet their detractors with a close victory over Number 16 Southern. Nebraska beat Southern in the first game of the season  66-55. Louisville on the other  hand  crushed  North Carolina A&T by more than 30.

VCU 88 Akron 42 Final. Oh and Syracuse picked Montana 81-34. Great TV games.

Does Missouri not play defense or do they just not play defense the NCAA Tournament? Last year they couldn't stop Norfolk State this year they didn't stop Colorado State. CSU was the MWC one lone bright spot  (more on that later) CSU Coach Larry Eustachy apparently behaved around Missouri co-eds this time.

I'm a Nebraska fan. Is it true or a myth that if you win a game in the tournament you get to play another?

Harvard beat New Mexico in the Every tournaments has got to have one upset of a 13, 14 or 15 beat a 2,3 or 4. This was a 14 over  a 3.

13-3 Overall but Harvard beating New Mexico hurt my bracket. Good day for the Pac 12, BAD Bad day for the mountain west. Well except for Colorado State.

Thoughts on Day 2.

Duke didn't look good against Albany but unlike last year they survive and advance.

Another 12 is going to bring down another 5. Wisconsin can't hit Rush in the ass.

Good God Cincinnati's uniforms are ugly. Good God Fuck Creighton.

La Salle beats  Kansas State...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Creighton Vs Duke Sunday. Or as I like to call it F that Sh*t I'm staying asleep.

Duke Vs Creighton. I haven't seen that much evil in one building since...since...well the CPAC last week.

And a 15 beats a 2. Florida Gulf Coast 78 Georgetown 68.

Jonathan's San Diego State beat Oklahoma and get's Florida Gulf Coast next. Word of warning. FGC is the best 15 seed team I have seen.  They beat Miami earlier. This will be a good game.

Iowa State gave the Big 12 it's only dignity with a 76-58 win over Notre Dame. Even Kansas 64-57 win  over Western Kentucky wasn't anything  to be proud of.

I admit it I thought Minnesota did not belong in the tournament after I saw them lose to Nebraska and then lost to Illinois in the first round of the B1G tournament. But they proved me wrong by blowing out UCLA completing a nice first round for the B1G.

It was a disastrous 1st round for the Big 12 and Big East.

It's that time again where everyone fills out their brackets for the 75th annual NCAA Tournament, from the casual watcher, to the die-hard fan, and everyone in between. Hell, even Presidents get in on the action, such as the case as Obama unveils his picks on who's going to meet in Georgia for the Final Four.

There Will Be A James Bond Omnibus Volume 5.

It will be released  in November. (why so long?) Anywho I like The cover art on this volume.

Conservatives: Always Good At Telling You What You Should Do:

There is a feature on this blog called the most popular posts (Basically the posts that had the most spam and bot activity) You can check it out for yourself over on the left side of the blog. What I like best about the feature is sometimes it jogs my shoddy memory as a now long forgotten post sometimes finds its way on to the list and I click on it and  I see comments that have been left since Jonathan, Eileen or myself have written the post. The post in question here was called More On Kyle Ann Shiver and was in response to an article Ms Shiver  had written called "How Vermont Secession Could Bring Peace to the Middle East"

Now I must admit I had forgotten about this post... probably the second after I wrote in July of 2008...and reading it now there is no doubt that I could have been more eloquent and tactful. However what I love most re-reading the post now is this response from one

Zbigniew Mazurak
(clicking his name leads to still going Teabagger blog.)

"Please do not swear, not to mention that you responded to a lady, and according to Western tradition, ladies should be treated more respectfully than gentlemen. You may disagree with her, but you should not offend her. That's not a Lancelot-like deed. This paragraph would also apply to Jonathan and Sergei."

Why do Conservatives do this?  Why do they, the people who love freedom oh so much always hate yours? Why do they feel it is their God given right to tell you what to  post, what to say, what to think?  Aren't these the same people who hate political correctness and  having their  free speech violated?

I don't know what became of Kyle Ann nor do I care. Honestly I had forgotten about writing about her 5 years ago. But I can tell you her blog seems to be gone. What became of her I have no idea. I sure hope I didn't offend her though because that would be terrible.

Ted Nugent Loves Slaying Pigs with His Machine Gun.

I don't even know how to comment on this.

“I took my machine gun in the helicopter — in the Texas hill country – me and my buddy ‘Pigman’ … his name is ‘Pigman’ – I’m the swine czar. I killed 455 hogs with my machine gun. I did it for Bill Maher and all those other animal rights freaks out there.”

To be fair, Nugent does take all the dead pigs over to the homeless, but I damn sure hope that all the shells and other crap is filtered and fished out of those carcasses before they make their way to a Saint Vincent DePaul's homeless shelter-type institution!  I would really want to know why a man like Ted slaughters over 400 hogs from a helicopter using a machine gun, but that would be like peering into the mind of a deranged sociopath.

Happy 146th Birthday Nebraska

Happy 146th Birthday Nebraska. Lord knows we don't agree on everything. Sometimes I hate you. But I always love you. I was born here. Tried living somewhere else and came running back. I may yet again leave you. But I'll come back. For better or for worse I am Nebraska and I am proud to be so.
