What Drives Me Fucking Nuts About Democrats

Democrats have battered wife syndrome. They have lost for so long been beaten down so bad they don't know how to fight back. Democrats are the wife in those commercials where the husband says "you call this dinner" and then slaps his wife around while the the kids watch in horror. You see it all over the net. "Don't go there." "Don't say that" "we're better than this" "do you want to be like them?" Yes I do want to be like them in one sense... THEY WIN ELECTIONS! When scandals break against Democrats Republicans are like fucking sharks when they pounce on their prey. truthfulness in the scandal be dammed. By the time it turns out the scandal is false Republicans have kept the story in the news for so long the truth ceases to matter. Guilt by association has set in and the Republicans have done their job. Democrats always tread lightly afraid to get dirty. It's time to get a little mud on our hands. To spin it with a football analogy. When Republicans get ahead by 21 they pour it on. When Democrats get up by 21 they think they are obliged to fumble 3 times to make sure the game gets closer.

That was great Ralph. Way to miss the point.

Let's give it a few days to percolate. Caribou Barbie exploded on the scene, but now the campaign is saying she's going to be "out of stock" for two full weeks as they desperately try to tutor her in her many, many weak spots. Let's just see how that plays in Peoria. I'm betting, not so well. She gets a free pass until her eldest deploys. After that, any stalling tactics will be called like they're seen - evasion.

It's going to backfire. If not before Election Day, then when it comes. The only question is when.

Setting aside matters of right and wrong, Obama has already changed the way that politics works. His whole platform is that he doesn't smear. This is something that really resonates with people. If he were to abandon this philosophy, he would probably end up losing the election.

This approach, when combined with Obama's success in framing the election in his terms and the rapidity of his responses, has meant that when his opponents attack him, they end up making themselves look bad. Remember what happened to Hillary.

Remember, too, that we are winning.

Unlike some of the Newshounds, I am raising a cheer or two for Sarah Palin - if she signifies a lasting change in the way Republicans view women, I'm all for it.

I don't mind a few attacks either. It's the relentlessness of the Republican attack dogs that bugs me. Attacking is the path of least resistance. Much easier than letting us know what they plan to do that's different (besides drilling and more drilling.)

I hope she's a nine days wonder and some more worthy woman will take her place in the spotlight.

Why is that Democrats are more afraid to go after Ms Palin than they were to go after the first lady of the party? Am I the only one who sees not the sense in this?

I am not talking the party itself I am talking rank and file.
