I do look at associations (both professional and personal). I understand that there are times in our lives we may have fleeting associations with people we would not ordinarily choose. One of my problems with Obama is that he has had long-term associations with people I consider to be very radical. Reverend Wright and Bill Ayers are two examples. Back in the early 1970s my mother was employed at the Intelligence Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. William Ayers was still on the run and his present wife, Bernadine Dohrn (sp?) was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List. Those were scary times in much the same way that we worry about terrorist bombings now. And, William Ayers is still not sorry for anything he did back then. Reverend Wright hates the United States. There is no way I could have been closely associated for nearly 20 years with someone like that unless I shared some of the same beliefs. I agree with you that most if not all politicians have had questionable associations in their careers. I just feel that Obama has had more than most. And, longer lasting. As for Social Issues: I am very pro-life. To me it is a moral issue. I believe that we are responsible as human beings to take care of the most vulnerable - which obviously includes the unborn.
