Another College Football Season Comes To An End

One loss Undefeated Texas Longhorns plays the undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS national title game presented by somebody or other tonight.

Stuck in between the big time BCS Bowl games Central Michigan played Troy in the GMAC Bowl in lovely downtown Mobile Wednesday. Now i'll save my bitch that this game is played in between the BCS games instead of say December 21st for another day what I want to comment about is the fact that so far 3 of the 4 "big time" BCS games have been shitfest. Only the Rose Bowl was consistently entertaining. Florida skullfucked Cincinnati and TCU-Boise and Iowa-Georgia Tech were insomnia cures. But the little bowl game in Mobile featuring two teams from the MAC and Sun Belt turned out to be an absolute doozy. It's a shame ESPN forgot the first rule of broadcasting always assume your viewership cares about your broadcast. Instead of calling the Central Michigan-Troy game and giving it the proper attention a 44-41 game in double overtime deserves they kept talking about the BCS national title game. It wasn't until the end of the game when a good game became great that they decided to spend some time talking about the two teams putting on such a spectacular show.

The GMAC bowl reminds me of the time you go to see 4 big budget blockbusters in a row that leave you cold then you go see that small budget movie that gets little hype and it's so much better. Tonight we get the biggest blockbuster of them all and boy as it been hyped. However once again We will leave the theater disappointed and wanting to revisit that cute little film we saw the night before. It won't be close tonight kids. Alabama doesn't win by 50 because they show compassion. but they still win 38-10.
