I think so. At least the weather is going to cooperate. Not sure what we did on her good side but we have had a really nice summer. It was 77 yesterday, 75 today and it's suppose to 78 tomorrow. Now I am almost know how Jonathan feels in the Summer. :)

I hope it's not too humid. That's what always has really done me in, in the Midwest, more than the heat per se. Jonathan probably has some nice marine breezes in San Diego that take care of that.

As you saw, we're off to Saltspring Island in the morning for kiddo's recording session. We heard this song for the first time at their end-of-year recital and I was really, really impressed: very sophisticated in lyrics and melody both, esp. from a kid her age. But you always take these things with a parental grain of salt. To have her instructor say he thinks there's professional-level stuff there (he is actually taking on all the costs of the recording and production, which I'm sure is not something he routinely or trivially does) ...now, that's a whole other level of amazing. They're recording in a studio owned by Randy Bachman (of Bachman-Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who fame, who lives on the island).

Plus it will get us out there to the artisans' market, which I've always wanted to visit but we've never managed to pry ourselves awake early enough on a summer's weekend.

Means an early night for me. [Tries to yawn...]

No not really. Well yeah I just checked the humidity is 89% but it's 57 degrees out right now which is unreal. This is the Midwest. Most July days the high is 98 the low is 80 and the humidity is 89%

I wish your daughter the best of luck :) I bet she is excited.

Thanks, Count. She is, and we're excited for her.

I remember when I was working as an English tutor in college, coming back to campus a week ahead of classes for in-service training. You'd walk outside into that late-August weather with the temps and the humidity both in the 90-something range, and you'd wilt within seconds.

I can't handle any heat like that, damp or dry, any more, despite growing up in the desert Southwest with its 100+ summers. Years in the Pacific NW have grown moss on my north side, so to speak...
