Ms. Wasilla Rips Off Veterans Poem

Years ago, Charles M. Provence, a veteran of the U.S. Army and founder of the Patton Jr. Historical Society, wrote a poem entitled, "It Is the Soldier".

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

In honor of Memorial Day, Sarah Palin pays homage...rips off said poem.

VETERANS,not reporters, give freedom of the press.VETS,not politicians, give freedom to vote.VETS,not campus radicals, give freedom to assemble

Does her vapidness know no bounds?

She hates the media yet she thrives on them. She hates politicians yet she is the ultimate politician. As for campus radicals for her that's anybody who didn't need 6 schools to get a degree.

Well, if there is a lower limit to Vapid, I have no doubt that she's somewhere a little below that...

Why so much hate for Palin? I would think you would have more relevant people to hate than her....

Yeah well she gives you a boner so she must be ok.

Oh, I don't hate her, Anonymous. I feel sorry for her...in, I'll admit, a very remote way. She's like the political equivalent of Lindsay Lohan. Imploding as a human being before our eyes at the same time as she's capitalizing on the system, feeding off her self-created celebrity status, and raking in the dough from rubes like you who think she has anything to contribute other than platitudes and pander-to-the-audience crap. She's someone who will say anything or do anything for a buck, and the sad thing is that so many people actually buy what she's selling.

She's the Wal*Mart of political thought. Cheap, easy, and completely without moral foundation so long as it fills her coffers.

What I might consider hating her for, though? Her rank, egregious, self-serving use of her kids, from the pregnant teen right down to the Down's Syndrome infant, as political props. There's no excuse for treating your family as your chorus line, or worse, your accessories. A baby is not a handbag. And a Mom who will treat a child in that way? Is not someone to admire.
