It may not have been an accident. The Islamoids are a thinking, adapting enemy becoming more proficient in shooting down low-flying helicopters, setting off truck bombs, or moving death squads into neighborhoods and killing large numbers of civilians quicker and more efficiently than they used to.
But as wars go, our casualties in Iraq continue to be light. Less killed than the sum of kids killed swimming or bicycling in America. If you want a death count to be outraged about, try 93,000 Americans killed by medical errors, "misadventures", lack of hospital sanitary procedures.
