Well, that didn't take very long.

Sarah Palin is back in the news cycle this Friday and she comes baring a warning about Pres. Obama's healthcare bill: it could kill her Down Syndrome baby.

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's "death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their "level of productivity in society," whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

I would have a good, long laugh about this if it wasn't for the fact that large no. of Americans believe the nonsense that comes out of the fmr. Alaskan Governor's mouth, along with the other bullshit the GOP has been parroting about the president's healthcare bill.

Lordy, that woman is so completely vapid, she makes the idea of diet vanilla pudding sound attractive.

The extent to which people can be bamboozled into opposing something that would actually benefit them - and on the most bogus and flimsy of pretexts, like this "death panel" nonsense - never ceases to astonish me.

Fortunately, there are people out there who are calling it like it is. What this is all really about is a segment of the population that objects to someone Being President While Brown. That it's a thankfully dwindling segment doesn't make them any less scary.

Another point I encountered in my blogospheric rounds and found interesting: I thought we on the Left were supposed to be the "bleeding hearts" who supported the welfare of our least fortunate, propped up the downtrodden, raised the in-the-Right's-eyes "unworthy" to mere personhood.

Yet here we have Caribou Barbie claiming that Obama and his health care cabal will render a verdict "based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society...'"

Sorry, Sarah. Can't have it both ways. Either we're suckers for a sob story and will fall for anyone's tale of hardship, or we're hard-cases who will murder your kids because we don't think they measure up.

The truth is more nuanced than, I am sure, you are equipped to comprehend.

Yes, that is a subjective judgment on your level of productivity in society.

No, it doesn't mean I want to kill Trig.

Pretty much. It's this stupid Caucasian superiority these idiots cling to so desperately.
