"News Hounds: We watch FOX so you don't have to".
Wow! How convenient.
How many of your readers do you suppose actually view the segments you cite Ellen?
Do they check your work for accuracy and make sure that you are keeping your analysis within context?
I find it unlikely.
Now, will you have your readers live up to the standard that you chastise Bozell for failing to do or do they get a pass?
Would failing to do so not be blatant hypocrisy? A classic case of the pot calling the kettle black, as it were.
How many things have you commented on that you know nothing of and did not see? The list is far beyond the scope of this post. Let it suffice to say that it's more than just some movie.
I'd say that you just got caught in your own booby trap. You are doing precisely what you are accusing Bozell of doing.
Perhaps a better News Hound motto would be "We watch Fox and tell you what to think".
Bottom line is Lions for Lambs has got no legs. And having seen more than one Robert Redford movie in my day I imagine it's because his directing style is probably as low key and boring as some of his performances over the years have been.If it wasn't for his pretty face he never even would have had a movie career.
Pure fence-sitting liberal agony is all that's on offer here, in a muddled and pompous film about America's war on terror, which seeks to counter neo-con belligerence with a mixture of injured sensitivity and a shrill, pre-emptive patriotism of its own. In fact, it gives liberalism such a bad name that on leaving the cinema, I felt like going out and getting a nude study of Norman Podhoretz tattooed on my inner thigh!
The Media Research Center is the real media watchdog group and exposes the pure liberal bias from the lamestream media and the hollywood and entertainment industry.
People go films to be entertained not to see films where those writing it seem more interested in appeasement and protecting terrorists rights than Americans. If "Rendition" wanted to be balanced they should have also mentioned that waterboarding is done at fraternities and sororities and is called 'entertainment' there.
waterboarding is poprular during initation and pledge week activites at many colleges. Hell waterboarding at the 'tidalwave' ride at six Flags where a person can get soaked twice in a matter of few minutes.
Lions is the third liberal antiwar film to bomb at the box office. First was "Valley of Elah" next "Rendition" and now this film. Lions also flopped at worldwide box office.
A movie about talking bees beat out a liberal antiwar film last weekend. Last week the number one DVD wasn't Moore's "Sicko" but Ratatouille.
If a majority of Americans have the views you so they do why are leftists in hollywood pumping out antiwar film after another?
Why are leftists in hollywood pumping out their antiwar films at a record pace? just curious
Michelle Malkin had a great point about why liberal antiwar films are flopping at box office recently. It could be that hollywood and entertainment industry has a well-documented liberal bias and agenda to their programming.
LAST weekend's news coverage of our veterans was welcome, but deceptive. The "mainstream media" honored aging heroes and noted the debt we owe to today's wounded warriors - but deftly avoided in-depth coverage from Iraq. Why? Because things are going annoyingly well.
All those reporters, editors and producers who predicted - longed for - an American defeat have moved on to more pressing strategic issues, such as O.J.'s latest shenanigans.
Oh, if you turned to the inner pages of the "leading" newspapers, you found grudging mention of the fact that roadside-bomb attacks are down by half and indirect-fire attacks by three-quarters while the number of suicide bombings has plummeted.
Far fewer Iraqi civilians are dying at the hands of extremists. U.S. and Coalition casualty rates have fallen dramatically. The situation has changed so unmistakably and so swiftly that we should be reading proud headlines daily.
Where are they? Is it really so painful for all those war-porno journos to accept that our military - and the Iraqis - may have turned the situation around? Shouldn't we read and see and hear a bit of praise for today's soldiers and the progress they're making?
The media's new trick is to concentrate coverage on our wounded, mouthing platitudes while using military amputees as props to suggest that, no matter what happens in Iraq, everything's still a disaster.
no. but, I don't get all po'd about it to to the point of near obsession.
you'll find me neither criticizing nor defending it. hypocrite.
If the Bush administration "made" you depressed, you need to see a mental health professional to clear up your twisted, negative, conspiratorial thinking. Nobody can make you depressed but your own habitual distorted thoughts. Keep thinking that way and your serotonin levels will drop again.
Yes. Overall Americans are a happy people. At least I'm fairly happy most days. And everyone I know is quite happy -- at least the majority of the time. Being happy is a decision a person makes, a choice, a decision to entertain a string of life affirming, positive thoughts. It's an atitude of gratitude just to be alive. Spending time with angry or negative people with their contagious, toxic cynicism is one sure way to screw up your brain chemistry and get depressed. Avoid them.
Our country was founded on the ideals of The Enlightenment, which was a very confident and optimistic period of history. Americans still carry that in thier cultural DNA. To be confident, optimistic and persuing dreams and happiness is about as American as a person can get. Even smart politians know that; and voters respond.
