Cedarford I don't even read it.

Ok first of all I am sick tonight so I didn't really monitor the board like normal. Second of all I watched the Nebraska game and that didn't make me feel any better but here so fresh ceadarford...

We already did invent a reliable, cheap, CO-2 free source of energy that is renewable in the sense that it you can make more fuel than you burn. Newer versions also burn the unwanted waste.

Nuclear Power.

Hopefully with fusion and fusion-fission plants being practical in the future. France has over 50% of it's electric energy already from nukes. USA, Japan 20%.

All the "exciting, alternate energy sources" technologically illiterate people get all rhapsodic about are the same ones that we looked at back in the 70s (except hybrids) and rejected as impractical, too limited, too uneconomic once the engineers, scientists, and bean counters sit down and take a serious look at them.

The Brazil ethanol model only works with cheap government land from cutting down rain forest given over to cane monoculture. Ethnanol and wind farms only work in the USA with massive subsidies and customers forced to buy the still-expensive stuff. And ethanol that "ate up" all US corn crop would only

Solar is a joke. (0.02 Quads)

Biomass from all the paper and forestry industry's waste and trash to energy plants only adds 7 Quads of the 108 quadrillion BTUs of energy consumed in the USA.

Conservation is fine as long as you stop mass immigration and Open Borders. Otherwise, all conservation gains are wiped out. We use 30% less fuel than in 1973, yet burn 20% more thanks to immigrants and immigrants very large families. We are slated to grow from 300 million to 363 million by 2030 and 420 million in 2050, according to US Census projections.
