Arizona's "papers please" law now might extend to kids

Its bad enought this aparteid-lite law has been enacted in the Great State of Arizona, but now, that law could extend to the children of immigrants.

Buoyed by recent public opinion polls suggesting they're on the right track with illegal immigration, Arizona Republicans will likely introduce legislation this fall that would deny birth certificates to children born in Arizona — and thus American citizens according to the U.S. Constitution — to parents who are not legal U.S. citizens.

But the likely new bill is for the kids. While SB1070 essentially requires of-age migrants to have the proper citizenship paperwork, the potential "anchor baby" bill blocks the next generation from ever being able to obtain it. The idea is to make the citizenship process so difficult that illegal immigrants pull up the anchor and leave.

The 14 Amendment state the following on being born in the United States: "
All persons, born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States."
Apparently, the 14th Amendment doesn't mean shit to him.

Today, Pearce says, the 14th Amendment has been "hijacked" by illegal immigrants. "They use it as a wedge," he says. "This is an orchestrated effort by them to come here and have children to gain access to the great welfare state we've created." Pearce says he is aware of the constitutional issues involved with the bill and vows to introduce it nevertheless. "We will write it right."

I don't know what's more appauling: How Arizona lawmakers are adding more fuel to the contriversey, or that the Republicans are more and more confortable of exposing thier ugly, hateful side in this shameful episode.

Let me, a Nebraska fan; give you an introduction to THE University of Texas and Texas fan, from Texas’ viewpoint.

Dear PAC-10 (UT will figure out what to call this later) Fans,

First, it is THE not the University of Texas.

Second, let’s get this straight immediately, you (the PAC-10), joined us not the other way around.

Third, all of your records, your traditions, your rivalries, while quaint, are now irrelevant. We (UT) are here now to bring some legitimacy to OUR conference and to the other, lesser, institutions we have allowed to remain. There really is no need to keep your old records as the new ones from OUR conference will easily be superior and more legitimate. Your old rivalries are now dead. USC-UCLA, Oregon-Oregon St., and especially Arizona-Arizona St. are needless now that we are here. We will keep UT-OU as that is the only rivalry that matters to us. Stanford-Cal can remain because we don’t care about that. There was only 1 game in that series that anybody remembers anyway and that’s because some poor trumpet player got run over. If I am incorrect on what the instrument he was playing was, it doesn’t matter, I write history now, so it is a trumpet player. Got it?

Fourth, the Southwest Conference was the greatest college football conference ever formed. The world is indeed a little bit colder and sadder because it does not exist. What’s that? Nobody outside the state of Texas gave a rat’s ass about it. Perfect, that leads me to number 5.

Fifth, everything in the universe DOES revolve around the state of Texas. You absolutely must understand this. The sooner (f OU) you understand this the easier your transition to OUR new conference will be. You are now better people because you are associated with us. All of your past sins and transgressions (see not caring that Rice was a member of the SWC) are now forgiven. You will come to view Texas as the greatest thing God himself ever created. “Don’t mess with Texas”, “American by birth, Texan by the grace of God”, “Native Texan”, “I wasn’t born here but I got here as fast as I could”, “Everything’s bigger in Texas” are all phrases you need to become familiar with.

Sixth, do not expect us or our citizens of the state of Texas to care about what happens on the west coast. We will not cover your athletics in our newspapers. You are in OUR conference now but we do not care what happens in California or the west coast. You are all just a bunch of tree-hugging hippies anyway. Our political views are more legitimate than yours. Our way of life is superior to yours.

Last, understand this well, we do not need you. Never be mistaken that we need you. You needed us, that is why we came here, to save you. Texas needs nobody. The only reason Texas is still a state in the United States is because we choose to grace the U.S. with our presence. Understand, this?

I think this relationship is perfect for both of us, as long as you are willing to do things our way and completely concede all control to us. After all, we’re Texas. We’re better than you. It’s not your fault you aren’t Texan. But it does make you inferior to us. We look forward to a long, or short, depending on what we decide, relationship in which you will come to envy us, worship us, and hitch yourself to the Texas wagon as all of the Big 12 did, except those *%^#!*^**# Nebraska Cornhuskers. By the way, they ruined the Big 12.

French researchers posit that Vader exhibits six out of the nine criteria for borderline personality disorder. Unstable moods, interpersonal relationships, and behaviors are all characteristics of this condition, according to the National Institutes of Mental Health. It affects 2 percent of adults, mostly young women.

The young Anakin Skywalker was separated from his mother at an early age, and his father was absent, factors that could have contributed to borderline personality disorder. His "infantile illusions of omnipotence" and "dysfunctional experiences of self and others" are also indicative of this condition from an early age.

Now psychiatrists are diagnosing famous movie characters? At least it explains why Anakin was such a whiny punk in the prequel trilogy.

I never referred to Leviticus. I used to run the Homosexual Agenda ping list and did tons of research and linked to articles and tried my best to educate anyone interested. I’m done with that now as anyone who still thinks homosexuals are born that way is either not educable or is part of the problem.

1. There are uncountable numbers of former homoseuxals.

2. The vast majority of homosexuals were molested/seduced as children or adolosecents by older homosexuals. IOW, recruited - made homosexual.

3. Most homosexuals had very poor or non-existant relationships with their fathers and often poor relationships with their mothers.

So what if it’s always been in human society? So has murder, kidnappying, lying, theft and rape. Your point?

They will never go away? They aren’t civil. The homosexual agenda is a tyrannical Nazi-like effort to destroy freedom of speech, religion and association. It will only be civil when they shut up about their sexual perversion and leave everyone else alone.

First of all let me just say that I respect you and I am glad that you are the person in charge of our athletic department at these trying times and not some other people who have been in charge in the recent past. I have complete faith you will make the correct decision on whether or not to go to the Big 10. I however want to urge you to not be swayed by the mounting voices of opposition from Kansas and Iowa.

I am old enough to remember times in Lawrence, Manhattan and Ames when there were 30,000 people in the crowd and 28,000 were from Nebraska. Without Nebraska these schools would have been out of the Big 8 long ago. We kept their Athletic department alive when they were giving out free tickets in the super market with every purchase of bread. How did they repay us?

Iowa State won't sell tickets to the game to Nebraska fans. A Nebraska fan has to buy season tickets. Kansas made Nebraska fans buy tickets to 3 games last year to get the ticket. It was only after their season fell a part and their program became mired in a coaching fiasco that single tickets became available for $90 a cost much higher than any other ticket. Kansas State likewise charges Nebraskan's a $30 or $40 mark-up on tickets. Bill Snyder, your friend, has told Kansas State not to sell tickets to Nebraskans. These are the same ingrates who are now begging you not to join the Big 10 because of what would happen to them.

Also Dr. Tom please keep in mind that every-time you have tried to do what was best for the schools in the Big 12 north they have voted against you and sabotaged their own interest. Now that the chickens have come home to roost they turn to you and beg for their survival.

I have the ultimate faith that you will make the right decision on this issue but I beg you to make it with Nebraska in mind and not Kansas, Kansas State and Iowa State. If you do they will be grateful to Nebraska for maybe a day before stabbing Nebraska in the back again and continuing to treat Nebraska's fan like dirt.

LINCOLN — An executive at a Big 12 school relayed to The World-Herald on Tuesday that he expects Nebraska to become a member of the Big Ten as early as Friday.

NU Chancellor Harvey Perlman has declined all interviews about conference realignment and expansion. He is expected to address the topic with the Board of Regents at its Friday meeting in Lincoln.

Direct confirmation from Nebraska of a conference change for the Huskers wasn't immediately available. Sources at two other Big 12 schools told The World-Herald that their athletic directors have instructed them to be ready by week's end for a briefing on probable Big 12 changes.

Nebraska A.D. Tom Osborne offered implicit confirmation Tuesday night that the timetable on national conference realignment has been accelerated.

On his monthly appearance on the Husker Sports Network, Osborne said:

“I think before too long — I don't know exactly what that time frame is — we'll be able to put this to bed," then he jokingly added, “because I'm getting tired of it"

Lakers Take a 2-1 Lead

A few thoughts. It goes with out saying that Billy Kennedy is a hack and is as dishonest as Tim Donaghy ever was. In fact Donaghy himself gave the reason Kennedy hates Boston which may or may not be true. I know I have my beliefs why Kennedy, Crawford and Eddie F. Rush have a huge unprofessional anti-Boston bias and it has to do with Larry Bird and leave it at that. And don't forget to give Danny Crawford his due either. Never thought I would say this but the Tax cheat Bennett Salvatore was the only one calling a half honest game.

The Only two Lakers that did anything tonight were Fischer and Kardashian. Yes Kobe got his points but he was awful tonight and even was keeping Boston in the game when Boston had nothing else going for them. That Boston had a chance at this game late was do to Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant saying fuck you to his team-mates and taking bad shot after bad shot.

Garnett was great, Big Baby had a nice game Pierce did some goodthings in the second half but everytime Boston got momentum Kennedy or Crawford made sure to kill it with a foul call against Pierce.

Ray Allen was as bad tonight as he was good in the first half Sunday.

Boston played like shit much of the night so it's hard to lean too hard the Stern's Army but it's not like LA played worth a damn either. Bottom line is it's only 2-1. Game 4 is huge.
