Send In The Clowns...Don't Bother They're Here

He's Rep Phil Jensen of South Dakota and he wants to make it Legal in South Dakota to murder Abortion Doctors. No Really...

A law under consideration in South Dakota would expand the definition of “justifiable homicide” to include killings that are intended to prevent harm to a fetus—a move that could make it legal to kill doctors who perform abortions. The Republican-backed legislation, House Bill 1171 [2], has passed out of committee on a nine-to-three party-line vote [3], and is expected to face a floor vote in the state’s GOP-dominated House of Representatives soon.

The bill [2], sponsored by state Rep. Phil Jensen, a committed foe of abortion rights [4], alters the state’s legal definition of justifiable homicide by adding language stating that a homicide is permissible if committed by a person “while resisting an attempt to harm” that person’s unborn child or the unborn child of that person’s spouse, partner, parent, or child. If the bill passes, it could in theory allow a woman’s father, mother, son, daughter, or husband to kill anyone who tried to provide that woman an abortion—even if she wanted one. [...]

Oh when Mr. Jensen isn't trying to pass bills making murder legal he is a cook-ware salesman.

Meanwhile In Missouri State Senator Jane Cunningham wants to roll back the child safety laws.

Again...no really. She thinks companies should be able to hire a 12 year old to do a job for 40 cents and hour so they don't have to pay a living wage for and adult to do the job. Welcome to Missouri the new home for sweatshops.

If state Sen. Jane Cunningham has her way, the under-14 crowd will no longer have to worry about those stuffy labor laws saying they can’t hold a job. Teenagers of all ages will be freed from restrictions limiting how many hours they can flip burgers. And if they want to staff the drive-through window all night long, Cunningham is for that too. To heck with those early morning classes.

The Missouri legislature can always be counted on to come up with bizarre legislation, but Senate Bill 222 is the strangest we’ve see in awhile.

Cunningham, a Republican from St. Louis County, would also repeal the requirement that 14- and-15-year-olds apply for a special permit in order to work. And the state Division of Labor Standards would no longer inspect workplaces tht employ children or require them to keep special records for their youthful employees.

This bill sounds too Dickensian to go anywhere, but you never know. One ominous sign: Cunningham’s bill is assigned to the Senate’s general laws committee, which is chaired by…Senator Jane Cunningham.

Because this is Missouri after-all Natrually the Teabaggers are perfectly fine with turning the state into a Sweatshop haven...

yes ma’m Ms. Shelly…. govt. bureaucrats should be telling parents what their children can and cannot do with respect to working. Why, they KNOW so much better, and besides, it provides you libs with jobs to “check-up” on employers, doesn’t it?

I know of no parents with 12 year olds who would allow their children to work, but I am sure in your lib world there must be millions of them, so by all means, let’s use our power…

Is there anything you libs would not like to regulate?????

Well kcgrh2 is there anything so vile you teabaggers won't excuse it ? Of course not.

Welcome to 19th Century teabagger America ladies and gentlemen.

Add to this the absolutely-I'm-not-bigoted rep in Kansas who says that she can spot the people who are in the U.S. illegally because of their "olive complexion."

Is it just me, or has the Tea Party delivered us, wrapped up in a bow, a slew of ludicrous state-by-state legislation the likes of which I can't remember seeing before, ever?
