batvette is a wiki contributer and all around PITA of various forums on teh internets. He served in the US Navy as an Aviation Fire Control Technician and Plane Captain on F-4J and F-4S Phantoms from 1979-1983 in Fighter Squadron 21, at NAS Miramar and onboard the USS Coral Sea. He was honorably discharged after 4 years.

He is currently the world record holder of participant in the most debates on the legality and rationale behind the Iraq war (proponent of). This record reflects no losses, however it also reflects no wins. (LOL)

Some have described him as a political enigma for this unerring stance on an unpopular war while at the same time roundly ridiculing fundies, despising corporate greed and environmental sins, holding pro choice and anti capital punishment views and feeling gays should have the right to marry and have nasty divorces just the same as everyone else.

The handle comes from the name of one of the fantastic and pointless vehicles he has customized, a 1986 Corvette which had a sound system which he competed with over two seasons in IASCA, qualifying for the world finals in Dallas in 1998. Another more notorious vehicle was clubdead, a 1965 Cadillac hearse with a disco in the rear. No this is not a joke, that would be unencyclopedic.

Hey This Is The Cock Fucker Who Wants Open Dialogue

planetofbob.wordpress.com
I wonder if she will send a shiver down his leg.... oh wait, that's what Obama does to "reporters" on the left.

Yes this is the same piece of fuckshit who is always babbling about breaking down barriers. I'll explain what "bi-partisanship" is to this Turdcum later and while I want no part of it and neither should you.

Random Questions: What the f@#k!? Edition

From Taylor Swift's surprising victory at Sunday night's Grammy Awards, to the jaw-dropping results of identified Republicans across the nation, here are my questions to the stories that had me saying either 'Oh my God!' or 'What the f@^k!?'

- This question is repetitive, but it does bear repeating: How can the base of lock-step, Fox News Republicans be this damn stupid?? A poll released by Daily Kos/Research 2000 reveals some startling numbers about the base that I thought couldn't be any more oblivious to their own head scratching stupidity. Here are some of the results:

• 39% of Republicans want President Obama to be impeached.

He's been in office for a year, for christsakes! Let him plunge America into an unnecessary war based on lies, subvert the Constitution to suit his needs, and ignore a national disaster for two weeks before we talk about impeachment.

• 63% think Obama is a socialist.

This isn't anything new. These morons believe anyone with a functioning brain who questions 1/4 of their "conventional wisdom" must be a card-carrying commie, or a fellow traveler.

• 31% want contraception to be outlawed.

Just what we need: no protection, so idiots are allowed to breed and make more idiots! Jesus, doesn't anyone in that base understand the concept of "pulling out?"

• 73% think gay people should not be allowed to teach in public schools.

Exactly what do these idiots believe will happen if Mr. Garrisan teaches the little ones? On second thought....

- Why did Kanye have to open his trap five months ago? Last September, rap superstar and egomaniac Kanye West went up onstate at the MTV VMA's and announce his disappointment that Beyocne didn't win a moonman for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)," by ruining Taylor Swift's moment. Thanks to his unbelievable stupidity and arrogance, Taylor Swift won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. Dude, all of this could have been avoided: your no-show at the Grammys, your stupid ass stunt, Barack Obama calling you a jackass off-camera, and Swift losing to Lady Gaga for the title. This is your monster, Mr. West. Now we all have to put up with it. Thanks, dickhead.

- Late Edit by Jonathan: Exactly what the hell is the Apple iPad? What is it supposed to do? And why the hell do we need it? I love just about everything Apple CEO Steve Jobs has created, but his latest game-changing invention has me stumped. Is it a next-gen notebook PC? Is supposed to be an electronic notepad? It looks mega-cool, but I don't see the need to go out and buy this.

Like Whore

Wee,

Thank you for the thoughtful ideas. Again, I know there are some that probably do have what Wokin' calls the "Screw You, I got mine" mentality, but I think those represent a small percentage of those out there. I think there is also a percentage of "Screw them, they owe me.." on the other side as well. I just think both groups are small minorities.

I also think if we are going to be realistic, there are some hard choices to be made in the way we think about insurance. Honestly, I think we need to look at universal insurance as more of a catastrophic option, not an all-inclusive.

Look at your auto insurance. I have no idea how much yours is, but it's not cheap. Imagine if car insurance covered scheduled maintenance, oil changes, as well as tires, brakes, etc... How much are we talking now?

Now assuming you have insurance, how much did your last Dr. appointment cost? Most people with insurance can't tell you. They can tell you what their co-pay was, but not much more.

Most people can tell you what their last oil change cost.

Lets stay with the car/health analogy, and yes, I know we are talking apples and oranges here, but there are correlations that can be drawn.

Suppose you have car insurance with, oh, lets say State Farm. You pay your premiums, you don't have any issues for years. Then one day you have an accident, and they drop you. Should they be able to do that to you? No.

Now suppose you don't have car insurance, and one day you get in a pretty big accident. Should you now be able to walk into State Farm's office and buy insurance that will cover that accident?

And yes, I know that the republicans don't have a lot of ground to stand on here - it's not like they did anything about it the four years they had congress and the White House. But that's no excuse for a bad bill now.

When your house is destroyed by a natural disaster, you rebuild the foundation, then the home, and then you paint and carpet, relandscape, and then buy new furniture. You don't do it all at once, you build that foundation and then keep going.

The democrats haven't even broke ground yet, and they're already having the furniture delivered.

Can we bring both sides together? I really don't know, but we have two options before us. Like Sergei and Wee, we can discuss and try to find solutions, even if they are small, and then we can build on those.

Or, we can just ignore each other and call each other names.

BTW poll results 100% of the people said they don't care what Bob has to say.

More Bob...

So something truthful like...

"But in reality, they seem to be a collection of Libertarians, Evangelicals, Racists and societal outcasts. The only intelligent people in the Tea Party organizations are the higher up organizers that are exploiting them for profit and personal financial interests."

Is a personal attack but calling somebody a "whore" is not.

I Guess If You Killed The Ayatollah And Defeated Communism You would Be Honorably Discharged

CafeenMan, I'm an honorably discharged Navy veteran who was 41 years old when the war started. I volunteered my services in 1979 when war with Iran seemed emminint, and spent four years doing whatever the government saw fit to do with me. I consider my dues paid, I'm sorry I didn't die or get a limb or two blown off to please you. If you can possibly come up with a less valid talking point, let me know.

Rumsfeld was shaking his hand because he was the middle east
envoy, it was his job. You have any comment about Saddam spending weekends at Jacques Chirac's French villa in the '70's? Want to see a picture of the both of them at a nuclear plant? It's simply not relevant. He was our enemy's enemy, then he attacked two allies we were bound to protect.

Hey Jonathan Batvette is a neighbor of yours

Want a good laugh?

I agree.

In 1979 I enlisted in the Navy and served on a carrier performing the most dangerous peacetime occupation in the military, working topside on the flight deck. I had been brought up believing in America, hated the Ayatollah in Iran, and would have given my life for my country had war broken out with the Soviet Union, whom I had been conditioned to believe was evil.

Imagine my surprise a few years ago finding the whole thing was complete BS, that there is a secret police force in America with no due process, no accountability, of cold sadistic dimwit ****heads who think it's their patriotic duty to attack the home team behind friendly lines- in secrecy, like a slimy insect under a dark rock, they hide, only getting away with this garbage because the public doesn't know about it. The first part of the military enlistment contract says you will defend he US constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Since these activities are about the most unconstitutional thing I can imagine, this makes those engaged in it enemies of freedom, enemies of America, and it may ultimately be up to every person who enlisted in the military, to declare these people enemy combatants and destroy them.

I know I didn't spend 4 years risking my life to ward off Soviet opression and secure a free nation just t have these punks bring that crap here and grasp it as their own, and stab me in the back as a target for the favor. And SO sneaky about it. None of you have nut #1, you can't say squat to our face, all you stalkers, all you snitches, just figure hell is likely to be a lot like prison.

BeelzaBUBBA is gonna have you bent over for eternity, you litttle *****, for what you did here.

Yes More About Bob

The poll is about to close tomorrow and it looks like bad news for nobody gives a shit about what he has to say.

One of our trolls who likes to call people names and steal identifies also likes to post anti-Nebraska comments thinking it bothers me. Amazingly somebody on Newshounds posted anti-Nebraska comment thinking it would bother me. Who was that somebody? Gosh darn it was Bob. way to give yourself away sunshine.

BTW Since Bob lives in Iowa and he's hooked up with Batvette that should work out well. Not saying I want an invitation to the wedding because I wouldn't go but they should send be a thank you card for hooking them up.

Late Edit: Oh Good Lord did I make this one shit himself but good!

From Bob's blog planetbobblahblahblah

Little did I know that with this one little post I would have such a fun time. You know, over at the Newshounds site, a lot of folks there are fond of the phrase “Batshit Crazy”, usually in response to one of their “favorite” conservatives. I thought I knew what Batshit Crazy was. I had no clue until today. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you “The Count”.

So who is “The Count”. The Count is the gentlemen in this post that made the “I will erase your comments on site” comment. You know, the tolerant one. Well, it seems that in response to my asking The Count why he would delete opposing points on site, the good count has decided to put up a poll at his Blog asking whether or not I should be allowed to comment at his website.

Let me give you a little more on the Count. First, I became aware of the count after HE first commented here at my site ( http://planetofbob.wordpress.com/2009/09/16/rest-in-peace-chuck/ ) For some reason The Count thought I was someone else, and even after I told him I wasn’t who he thought I was – Imagine that there are actually more than one “Bob’s” in the world – He couldn’t shake the fact that I was lying to him(The Count has trust issues).

In addition to his initial comments, “The Count” posted three of my PlanetofBob posts on his own website.

And just when I think I finally convinced him that I am not “Ranger Bob”, he now seems to think I am “Suicide Bob” (I have no idea). He also appears to have a problem with someone called “Brunswick Bob”, although he is yet to accuse me of being this guy. But I’m sure he will.

I’m beginning to think that “The Count” was anally violated by Counselor Bob when he was at Camp.

So folks, I’m thinking that I need to amend a comment I made earlier. I stated that I didn’t think this recent phenomenon of shutting out opposing views was a left or a right issue, and I still don’t think it is. It does however appear to be a “Somewhat Sane” vs. “Batshit Crazy” issue, and I think we all know which side of that fence the Count fell into.

Stay tuned…. This could get interesting.

Bob left a little bit out of this story.

Why did Bob get upset when I said certain people wouldn't have their comments left on the board If he never posted on my blog? Seems to me he would have said "well he's not talking about me I never post there anyway."

But the truth is Bob has posted on my blog and the things he has posted he is not telling you. Like calling other people who post run our blog 'whores" Or stealing their identities. I am pretty sure if I were to post as DaveinNJ or
call DaveinNJ a cocksucker on his blog my posts wouldn't be allowed on his blog either even though the truth would be on my side.

Bob Made A Friend

* Although oddly enough when I made a deal with Bob on a PM he objected to something I said to batvette so it's possible they are one and the same...

Bob, does he make up things you never said and follow you around making you explain them too?

(to wit, claiming I said "I singlehandedly won the cold war", among other things)

On the thread, I would say the number of times I've been moderated for what appeared to be purely partisan reasons in the comments of news articles has been fairly few. It's happened, but I haven't been in there for a couple of years, maybe it's changed.
However on the "off topic" board there was the instance of the thread I started presenting the evidence Joe Wilson was a liar and I (IMO) successfully defended my position as it went to 300 posts. This heinous offense got me banned for "disruptive posting" so I can't say there may not be some truth to what you say.
As has been pointed out it does happen in forums on both sides of the political fence. Consider yourself a superior person if you're spending more time in the arena with challengers than in the one with syncophants.

This Is What Drives Me Crazy

We know all about Bob here. We know his civility act is complete bullshit. We have seen him steal Identities and call ET an whore. Yet he gets on Newshounds calling for civility and for somebody to please be his friend and I guarantee you somebody will fall for it. He will succeed in dividing the board.
