I wasn't alive in 1980 to witness The Empire Stikes Back in theatres, but I do own the DVD and understand that the fifth chapter in the Star Wars saga is not only the best of the six films, its also one of the best sequels ever made. Not since The Godfather Part II has a sequel triumphed over its predecessor, but stand alone as a work of art, so happy 30th birthday to one of the coolest and greatest sequels ever.

Song of the Night - Indie fare
This first band has been around for a few years now, but they recently hit it big with the smash, "Help I'm Alive" on San Diego's alternative rock radio station, 91X.
The next artist was featured in the soundtrack to the award-winning film Little Miss Sunshine. The artist's name is SufjanStevens, and the song is called "No Man's Land".
On Arlen Specter
Like Joe Liberman, Arlen Specter is an opportunistic rat. We all know why Specter switched sides: he would've been in the same position he is tonight, on the outside looking in. The bet was that if he changed pary affiliation, in exchange for being a good Democrat, he would recieve support by the Obama White House and perhaps retain his seat. Was there any truth when he gave his reasons for leaving the GOP, that the party left him? Some, but the polls told him he would have been screwed if he stayed any longer with the Republicans.
Specter may have been a rat, but he's the reason why the Stimulus Package passed. He's a big factor into why we have an overhall in the nation's health care system. He even opposed Bush's warenless wiretapping when he was cacusing with the Republicans. He was more of a Democrat than Lieberman ever was or will be.
And He Was A Better Governor Than Sarah Palin

It's Tough To Find A Good Picture Of Arlen Specter.
The Tale of Arlen Specter should be read and remembered by the lily liveried chicken shits on the left and in the middle like Earl B. Nelson and Sore Joe Lieberman playing to the republican party while claiming to represent the democratic party will only leave you friendless, out of politics and wondering why. You see Mr Nelson, Mr. Lieberman and all of you other fence sitters out there when you play the game that you are playing trying to have everybody like you you'll find like Mr. Specter that in the end almost nobody will. Republicans don't trust you and we don't want you. Go to any conservative blog, if you can stand the stench, and see what Joe's new friends are saying about Mr. Lieberman. You think they like him? Not hardly. They still remember when they called him Joe Loserman. Look at Earl B. Nelson. One of the most conservative senators in the senate in any party. Do the Republicans he has tried so hard to impress at the expense of the Democratic party like him? The short answer is oh hell no. Much like the defeat that befell Specter whom by the way is A MUCH BETTER MAN THAN EITHER NELSON OR LIEBERMAN their days of playing both ends for their own gain will eventually be their ruin.
There is another valuable lesson to be learned from Arlen Specter. All of you Democrats out there...why don't you try being Democrats for a change. Because if all you are is a Republican in donkey's clothing why should we bother? At least the Elephants stab us from the front.

True Blood - Season 3
If You Could Live Anywhere...

No question for me If I could live anywhere I would live in Upstate New York in the Adirondack Mountains. I have never felt closer to what I think God is then the week I spent up there 5 years ago.

Awesome story for a Monday
They're as mad as hell and they're not going to take it anymore!Huge angry mobs converged outside bank employees' houses on Sunday afternoon to demand banks stop lobbying against Wall Street reform.
"Bank of America: bad for America!" shouted community leaders outside the house of Bank of America general counsel Gregory Baer.
The Chicago-based grassroots organization National People's Action, in coordination with the SEIU, bused more than 700 workers from 20 states to Baer's neighborhood, one of the wealthiest corners of Washington. The action kicks off several days of protests targeting K Street for lobbyists' role in financial reform.
Baer himself apparently tried to blend in with the crowd until a neighbor outed him. The mob booed loudly as he walked into his house. "I don't have time for you," he said, according to Trenda Kennedy of Springfield, Ill. who used a bullhorn to tell the crowd about her trouble getting a mortgage modification from Baer's bank.
Seriously, read the whole article. We need more stories of organized protestors telling the greedy fatcats that we've had enough of their bullshit.

Try Not To Be Alarmed Miss USA Is An Arab...

Lovely Miss Michigan 2010 Rima Fakih was just crowned Miss USA.
Rima is a Lebanese American who lives in Dearborn, Michigan and was crowned Miss Michigan on September 19, 2009.
This is a welcome event at a time when it seems that Arab-Americans have been stereotyped in the American media in a very negative light, almost automatically associated with any terrorist bomb plot, and even the last time the media focused on an Arab American woman from Michigan it was the CBS News 60 Minutes story of CIA Agent Nada Proudy.
24-year-old Rima Fakih was born in 1986 in New York, then raised in Dearborn with her parents and her younger brother Rami, according to her bio on the Miss Michigan website.
Bottom Line Celtics Get The Win.

Going in to game 1 at Orlando I would have said no way Boston could win this game and leave me kinda pissed off but give them credit they found a way to win and leave me shaking my head. Boston not only lead but they toyed and played with Orlando for 3 quarters before promptly pissing down their legs in the 4th. However Orlando waited just a tick too long to start playing and Boston got out of Amway arena with a frustrating but huge 92-88 Victory to take game 1 and take home court advantage. Now Orlando has to win game 2 or they are really up against it.
Game 2 Thursday night 7:30.
