Shawne Merriman, what the fuck?!

SAN DIEGO (AP)—San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman(notes) was arrested Sunday and accused of choking and restraining his girlfriend, reality TV star Tila Tequila, as she tried to leave his Southern California home.

Tequila, 27, signed a citizen’s arrest warrant, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment, San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Steadman said.

Deputies responded about 3:45 a.m. to Merriman’s house in Poway, north of San Diego, after a woman called to say she was choked by the player and physically restrained when she had tried to leave, according to a Sheriff’s Department statement.

Merriman, 25, was taken into custody. Authorities declined to say whether he had posted bail or been released, pending an afternoon news conference.

Tequila was taken to a hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.

Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, is best known for “A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila,” which ran for two seasons on MTV. The bisexual dating show featured men and women vying for Tequila’s affections. She has also modeled for Playboy and other men’s magazines.

Scott E. Leemon, an attorney for Tequila, said in a statement that neither she nor her representatives would comment publicly on the incident.

Merriman’s agent, Tom Condon, said he hadn’t heard about the arrest when contacted by The Associated Press.

Chargers general manager A.J. Smith didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.

Winnipeg is Canada's murder capital.

Manitoba is the deadliest province in Canada, according to a Statistics Canada report released Thursday.

There were 62 homicides in Manitoba last year — the highest number since data were first collected in 1961, and up from 39 killings in 2006.

On a per-capita basis, Manitoba recorded the highest homicide rate of all the provinces, at 5.22 per 100,000, almost double the rates of second-place Saskatchewan and third-place Alberta.

Among major cities, Winnipeg led with 3.55 homicides per 100,000 people.

Edmonton was second at 3.28 and Calgary was third at 3.14.

Five of Winnipeg's homicides were committed with firearms, and five were gang-related, according to Statistics Canada.

Nationally, police reported 594 homicides in Canada in 2007, 12 fewer than in 2006, and a rate of 1.8 per 100,000.

Winnipeg Proper has 633,000 people and 739,00 in the metro. Omaha Nebraska has 438,000 and a metro of 837,000 people. Omaha's murder rate was 7.9 in 2006 9.7 in 2007. That last figure was inflated a bit by two mass shootings to start and end the year 7.9 is about normal. Now despite the fact that they like to pretend otherwise Omaha's crime rate while high for the Midwest is moderate for a city it's size.

Now I have been to Calgary. I didn't much like it. Not because of that awful crime rate but because I swore they closed the city at 7. But I couldn't believe how unbelievably clean the city was. I have also been to London, Ontario and found it also to be an unbelievably clean city. The year I was in London was 2005 they had their highest murder total ever. 14. Again Bwahahahahahahaha!

The fairly small town of Regina Saskatchewan boasts (if that is the right word) one of the larger and by all reports poorer ghettos in Canada in it's northern sector I have even found an article calling it the " Detroit" of Canada... again "bwahahahahahahahahaha" Find 100 people 50 Here 50 in Canada ask them where they would feel safer Regina or Detroit.

If Regina's "ghetto" isn't the worst in Canada near as I can tell Vancouver's is. Vancouver's ghetto is also apparently about 4 blocks long in the eastern end of downtown. Find articles from Canadians describing it and you would think it was as bad as anything Detroit or Chicago has to offer. I Hate Goulash

Goulash is in fact a Hungarian soup or stew This is similar to what my Mother and Wife (apparently) believes is Goulash. Goulash is in fact this soaked in a broth.


She swears she doesn't read this blog but since telling it to her face has done me no good Maybe by posting this the message will get out.

Many a man has complained that a wife's cooking is not up to the standards of his Mothers and many a wife has countered with cook it yourself. Let me just get this out right now. The Contessa's cooking most nights is a million times better than my mothers. My mom can bake like nobody's business but she can not by (her own admission) cook for shit. However for whatever reason my wife takes cooking advice from my Mother about what I like and how to cook it. I have told her that this woman whom I dearly love has no idea what she is talking about on the subject of cooking.

Now The Contessa has taking some meals that I have formerly disliked such as roast and Potatoes and made me a believer now that I know that Roast was meant to be juicy and the potatoes were not meant to be lethal weapons but I never have and never will like Goulash.

I know my mom swears I love her goulash but really it's...well godawful. In the first place what my mom calls Goulash and what is in fact goulash are two different things. In the second place if my Mom KNEW how to make goulash I still would dislike it. The Idea of a mixture of pasta, Meat and Soup may do it for some but for me it's just...nasty. It smells bad and tastes worse. I think sometimes people forget that despite the Name the closest I have ever been to Budapest is Brantford Ontario. I have told the Contessa this and still she insists I like Goulash cause My Mother said so. Wouldn't I know this for myself?

Now I have no doubt the Contessa couldn't get creative and come up with something that involves the ingredients of Goulash and make a very tasty meal but do not ask my Mother for advice for God sakes. Thursday is my Mother's 65th Birthday Friday I am taking both the Contessa and My Mother out to eat. I am going to tell them You stop telling her what I like to eat and you stop listening to this woman. Of course all that will do is buy me two weeks with out Goulash.
