Anybody Else Following Babygate?
Only 2 Hours of Convention Tomorrow
McCain: She Has Experience She Was A Member Of The PTA
Responding to a question after his hurricane-related remarks, McCain made a ringing defense of Palin, who Democrats argue has less experience than their presidential candidate, Barack Obama.
"I thin Sen. Obama, if they want to do down that route, in all candor, she has far, far more experience than Sen. Obama does," McCain said.
He cited Palin's stint as governor of a "state that produces 20 percent of America's energy" as well as her previous membership in the PTA and her time spent on the city council and in the mayor's office in Wasilla,a town of fewer than 7,000 people outside Anchorage.
By contrast, he said Obama "was a community organizer when she was in elected office. He was in the state Senate and voted 130 times present. He never took on his party on anything. She took on a party and the old bulls and the old boy network and she succeeded."
Flashback Troll Quote Of The Week.

How To Use A National Disaster To Help Your Campaign
McCain May Give Convention Speech From Disaster Zone
Politico | MIKE ALLEN & JONATHAN MARTIN | August 30, 2008 10:33 PMPresident Bush is unlikely to make it to the Republican National Convention and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) may deliver his acceptance speech by satellite because of the historically huge hurricane threatening New Orleans, top officials said.
But officials insisted that, the convention, scheduled to open here on Monday, will go on -- albeit in a more limited and sedate form, if Hurricane Gustav stays on its projected path. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin ordered a mandatory evacuation beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday after federal officials said Gustav could grow to a catastrophic Category 5, hitting Monday afternoon between East Texas and western Mississippi.
Just a heads up
Et, Pb.D and yours truly will be covering that rosy smell of political bullshit that is the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Tune in with us and watch the constant piles of shit hitting the proverbial fan starting tomorrow when America's worst sitting president and his soul-dead vice-president take the floor and make the case on why the GOP, after eight years of corrupt and incompetent governing and countless attempts to shred the very document on which they swore an oath to uphold and defend, deserve another four years of fucking America up the ass!
Tune in, folks!
My take on McCain's VP pick
Having said that, John McCain went for a game-changer to both fire-up the less-than excited conservative base of the Republican Party, and to steal thunder from Barack Obama's historic acceptance speech on the final night of the DNC Convention in Denver. He was able to complete both with the surprise pick of Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska.
I have one question for John McCain - just how desperate are you? I understand that you're going after the remaining, disgruntled female Hillary Clinton supporters, but adding to your ticket, a social conservative who is so staunchly pro-choice that even in cases of rape and incest, a woman still should not have the right to terminate a pregnancy, and stands against nearly everything that the senator from New York has dedicated her political career to, believing that women will too pissed off to notice a charlatan who just-so-happens to resemble Tina Fey, is just plain insulting to those who vehemently supported HRC and to women in general. If you honestly believe that female HRC supporters will support you just becasue you placed a wannabe HRC on your ticket becasue Barack didn't choose the real thing as his running mate, you will be in for a rude awakening come November.
Jer Weighs in on Palin
I'm sure that Gov. Palin will do good things for the country, as she's young and will have the necessary energy to help put the country on the right track by giving added wisdom and incite to John McCain's administration to make for a real team defending America and our traditional standing in the world.
"Incite" is my emphasis because...well, it's a pretty telling typo, if you ask me.
Of course, there will be the critics, but we know that the opposition doesn't live in reality, and it is exposed for what it is, and the opposition is marginalized in the face of truth, as the truth will always stand bold and unflinching!
Er...hello? Who exactly doesn't live in reality? Last I heard, Jeremiah lives in a world where his faith's holy book is the "real" Constitution. That's not my America.
And on to his deeper analysis...
Which one of these two camps is more qualified to lead?
This should be good...
Well, for arguments [sic.] sake, let's put it this way ... Which of these two camps is going to use government intervention on the two basic issues facing our country, and how effective their past history in dealing with state/government policies that they've dealt with economically and socially.
Already a redefinition? OK, we'll bite. I think he's trying to say that the economy and social issues are the most important matters facing the nation, and he's going to look at the candidates' records...
Here comes the wildest run-on sentence I've seen in a long while. Try to follow the plot. It won't be easy. He's trying to talk about Obama's voting record.
Well, if you know what the most liberal, which would is more well known as the extreme left-wing of the Democratic party means, you understand that government intervention to control peoples lives economically has the greatest impact on a wide scale basis, and more often than not, it is a negative impact by tax and spend, and the reason this has a negative impact, is because those who are working to pay and make a living for their families are the ones with a steady above average pay because many people depend on them and their services to sustain them, sort of a hand-in-hand thing, you might say, but these very people, that working hard to supply for their families are who the extreme left-wing look to when they want to help those whom they think are "worthy" of their help monetarily, and they have a list in which are government held programs designed and used to raise or lower the deductible on your income, but in this case, with the liberal Democrat economic policies it is usually raised to finance the programs they create for the purpose of redistributing the income you pay in to the government system.
Did that make sense to you?
No, me either. He seems to be saying that Democrats "tax and spend" in order to funnel the tax dollars of the successful (read, right-wing rich) to the unsuccessful (read, left-wing lazy slackers looking for a handout, and did I mention how immoral they all are?). That little thing that we all used to look upon as the we're-all-in-this-together -- gee, I heard that somewhere recently...oh, yeah, in a stadium of almost 85,000 citizens! -- social contract that says we should be our brothers' keepers. Jer must have missed that particular chapter and verse.
...it is all feeding unnecessary programs that aren't helping anybody except those who squander it for political power and greed and those who do not wish to make a living for themselves, in other words, it feeds corruption and discord among the masses...
Oh, really? That would explain all those hard-working Americans losing their homes and livelihoods, then. They just don't want to succeed. No compassion points for you, Jer.
Here, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are alike in their want for more taxation which does not represent the views of the majority
Math, Jeremiah. Math. Obama's proposals would represent tax relief for 95% of American taxpayers. In whose mathematics does 95% not constitute an overwhelming majority? Yes, if you're up there above that mythical middle-class-threshold of $5 million, you might have to pay a little bit more. But you won't miss it.
I won't even mention the unaccounted-for, mortgaged-to-China, un-budgeted dollars that are being flung around like confetti every day in Iraq. Because they freaking dwarf the tax hikes you're so petrified of.
He continues.
Speaking of discord, it is in the social/moral policies that our nation consists and rests upon
Really? I thought we were supposed to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity. But let us proceed.
As far as the the moral area is concerned, there are two issues that are affecting our country in a profound way - Life and sexuality, which correspond into the two injustices that the extreme left-wing is trying to impose through the highest court that are inflicting great damage to our 'traditional' culture as a whole. What are they? Abortion and homosexuality.
Ah, now there's Jeremiah's red meat. Women having control over their own bodies, and the terrifying spectre of The Gay. Because you know that Obama/Biden are going to MAKE everybody abort their babies and FORCE you to turn your existing kids - maybe even yourselves!! - GAY. The horror, the horror.
If the Founders were to come back right now, the would be wondering at the sight of such moral chaos and turmoil, "Where on earth is our Constitution???", "Why aren't the people adhering to it??"
Oddly, I agree with Jer on this. But I think the Founders would be looking toward the neocons and BushCo as they bemoaned this plight...
They would find classrooms filled with students learning how to perform sexual acts by their teachers, instead of God's Word.
OK, now it's just getting too silly to go on with, once Jer invokes your child's second-grade teacher turning story-time into orgy-time. I'll let you all read on and absorb for yourselves how deftly Jer sidesteps the question of Palin's complete lack of qualification to step into the second highest office in the land, and the glorious sideshow of how he makes it all about which candidate and/or prospective nominee has more Washington "tricks up their sleeve" - he really does a sterling job at damning Clinton with faint praise, on that score. And he even invokes the excuse-for-everything POW meme.
And I'll just close with a captioning contest borrowed with a H/T to Jesus' General. The original caption was "A Heartbeat Away."
I think we can do better...

No Matter How Many Times It Has Been Proven Wrong...Keep Repeating It.
Well Clinton knew of the terrorist camps in Afganistan. He lobed a couple of missles at them. But he was a little tied up with that Monica scandal. Then there was the bombing of our two embassies in Africa. But we had peace because Bill did nothing. He met with Monica more than Tennent, the CIA Director. So yes tecnically, we had peace during Clinton’s tenure. It was thoughtful of him to embolden the enemy and leave the problem for the next President to solve.
Palin's A female Better Not Say Anything Bad About Her!!!

McCain's Paid Shills Are Working The Blogs
Tim43 Says:
Palin is an excellent choice for McCain.
She has more experience in Executive leadership than the democrats number one guy, Obama. She was already a mayor when Obama kicked off his political career at William Ayers house.
She represents real change, unlike Obama’s choice in Biden who has been in politics since 1972 … when Nixon was president.
She’s a governor who has run a state … unlike Obama or Biden. And 80+ percent of the population of her state have a favorable opinion of her.
She has a proven record of stamping out the good ol boy network and government corruption. Like the kind that persists in Chicago … Obama’s stomping grounds.
Hey, I can’t even remember what Obama said in his speach last night. Looks like McCain/Palin has stolen the show :-)
Sounds like some soreness in TP land.
What is going on? I thought you folks would be happy that a woman is finally breaking through the glass roof that Hillary cracked.
Obama could have closed the deal by choosing Hillary but instead he snubbed her.
Palin even has more experience than Obama.
Do you folks have some sort of hidden hatred of women? Do you only feel comfortable letting them crack the glass roof?
Go Sarah Palin.

Oh yes. She was Mayor of Buttcrack Alaska. What executive leadership. Really McCain needs better paid shills.
Well, that is very narrow minded of you. Last I checked, Alaska was a state in the United States of America just like Illinois, Texas and Nevada. What do you have against Alaska? It is a great state with great people.
I am just happy that a great woman is running as VP and I think that McCain made a great choice.
This is historic.
I cannot understand the hatred on this board. I thought that you folks would be happy.

McCain's VP is.....
CNBC's John Harwood reports that John McCain has selected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate.
"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a self-styled "hockey mom" who has only been governor for a little over a year, is GOP Presidential candidate John McCain's choice for Vice President, CNBC has learned," he reports.
"According to a Republican strategist, Palin is the nominee, though McCain's campaign has not comfirmed this."
Gotta tip my hat to McCain on this one......he's going after the remaining disaffected women supporters of Hillary Clinton who still haven't warmed up to Obama.
Here's the file on McCain's running mate.
Republicans Considering Re-scheduling Bullshit Jamberoo
GOP Considers Delaying Convention
Tropical Storm Gustav Is Forecast to Hit U.S. Next Week as Hurricane
By Dan Eggen and Michael D. Shear
Washington Post Staff Writers
Friday, August 29, 2008; A21
Republican officials said yesterday that they are considering delaying the start of the GOP convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul because of Tropical Storm Gustav, which is on track to hit the Gulf Coast, and possibly New Orleans, as a full-force hurricane early next week.
The threat is serious enough that White House officials are also debating whether President Bush should cancel his scheduled convention appearance on Monday, the first day of the convention, according to administration officials and others familiar with the discussion.
For Bush and Republican presidential candidate John McCain, Gustav threatens to provide an untimely reminder of Hurricane Katrina. A new major storm along the Gulf Coast would renew memories of one of the low points of the Bush administration, while pulling public attention away from McCain's formal coronation as the GOP presidential nominee.
Senior Republicans said images of political celebration in the Twin Cities while thousands of Americans flee a hurricane could be dubious. "Senator McCain has always been sensitive to national crisis," said McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds, noting that the senator postponed announcing his presidential candidacy in 2000 because of the war in the Balkans. "We are monitoring the situation very closely."
Matt Burns, a spokesman for the convention, said that as of last night, it is scheduled to open on time. "We are planning for our convention to open on Monday," he said. "Like all Americans, we are monitoring the situation closely in the Gulf."
Staging a convention during a major natural disaster would be a public relations challenge for either political party. But GOP officials say the burden could be especially heavy for their party, whose reputation was tarred by the Bush administration's bungling of Katrina and its aftermath in 2005.
A hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico could also cast unwelcome attention on the offshore oil rigs that McCain has championed as a solution to rising gasoline prices -- they are now being evacuated in the face of the coming storm.
One senior GOP official said he does not anticipate a convention delay at this point, but he said the event would have to be reorganized if a large storm hit a major city on the coast.
For fun let's say they have to re -schedule.How do they go about doing that? The conventions cost $$$$ If the Republicans have to re-plan and re-stage and book all those rooms over again...Oh well!
Grading The Convention:
Monday C
Tuesday A-
Wednesday A+
Thursday A ( really if it wasn't for Obama and Gore today might have been a D.) Gore and Obama both were Dynamite.
If you vote C or lower please post here why. I have a guess why but I would really like to know.

A.P. Must Stand for Absolutely Pathetic Now.
Analysis: Obama spares details, keeps up attacks
By CHARLES BABINGTON
Associated Press Writer
DENVER (AP) -- Barack Obama, whose campaign theme is "change we can believe in," promised Thursday to "spell out exactly what that change would mean."
But instead of dwelling on specifics, he laced the crowning speech of his long campaign with the type of rhetorical flourishes that Republicans mock and the attacks on John McCain that Democrats cheer. The country saw a candidate confident in his existing campaign formula: tie McCain tightly to President Bush, and remind voters why they are unhappy with the incumbent.
Of course, no candidate can outline every initiative in a 44-minute speech - especially one that also must inspire voters, acknowledge key friends, and toss in some autobiography for the newly-interested. And Obama did touch on nitty-gritty subjects, such as the capital gains tax and biofuel investments.
Blah blah blah. By the way babbling fuck edited that part about how long the speech was...or somebody did for him.
Here is How it was originally worded. Link from Fox News "natch"

I guess Keith Olbermann tore this clown a new one.
This is what Barack Obama faces to become president pf the United States.
Reaction To The Speech
McCain's response:
Link
"Tonight, Americans witnessed a misleading speech that was so fundamentally at odds with the meager record of Barack Obama. When the temple comes down, the fireworks end, and the words are over, the facts remain: Senator Obama still has no record of bipartisanship, still opposes offshore drilling, still voted to raise taxes on those making just $42,000 per year, and still voted against funds for American troops in harm's way. The fact remains: Barack Obama is still not ready to be President."
You can almost smell the load in the old man's depends.
Late Edit from Jonathan: ......and this was after McCain 'promised' to lay off the Democratic Nominee for tonight.
McCain's word doesn't mean shit.
Democratic National Convention Day 4.
The last day of the convention the first day of college football season.
ET or Jonathan: Either of you watching the RNC? if so would you like to be our corespondent?
Jonathan: Edit: So I'm watching Hardball with Chris Matthews and in the background, the 9/11 truthers are irritating me. It almost makes me want to yet at Matthews to tell em to shut the fuck up. Look, I can't stand Bush Jr. as much as the next person, but gimme a break! You expect me to believe this incompetent fuck-up has the capability to plan and pull off the greatest attack in American history since Pearl Harbor?! This is the same man who gave us the Iraqi quagmire, and the FEMA fucktastorphe in the Big Easy, for God's sake! Come to your senses, people....
Count: 4:39 Edit: Looks like we have the sound kinks worked out and the convention has started. Albeit 20 minutes late.
Count: 4:52 Edit: Democrats are giving advice on how to win presidential elections?
Jonathan: 3:03 Edit (pacific time): Semi Breaking News from the otherside of the aisle - Pawlenty = McCain's VP? Sources claim that the Minnesota Governor has "cleared his schedule for the weekend." Well, this will definitely put MN in play if the rumors are true, but on the other side, the die-hard conservative base should be pissed that he chose a pro-choice candidate to be his running mate.
Count 5:15 (CT) Edit: All you need to know about Pawlenty:
I would Stand With Bush if his approval rating was 2 %
Pawlenty: "I'd Stand With President Bush if His
Approval Rating Was 2Percent."
The Star Tribune noted in October 2005,
"Pawlenty waved off any concerns about Bush,
Hatch or other DFLers on Wednesday. 'I'd stand with
President Bush if his approval rating was 2 percent,'
Pawlenty said. 'I
won't abandon my leader just because times are tough.'"

Jonathan Edit: 5:35 (PT) Stevie Wonder's performing. And doing a damn good job too.
Jonathan: 6:03 (PT) Al Gore just finished speaking (great speech by the former Vice-President) and current Vice-Presidential Nominee Joe Biden, reports claim, has arrived at Mile high Stadium.
And now for some juvenile non-DNC convention coverage humor: This definitely doesn't show young Miley Cyrus in a good light:
Counts Edit: 8:52 (CT) I agree with everything Jonathan has said. I thought I had left and edit a half hour ago...guess not. I am sorry.
Jonathan Edit: 6:58 (PT) To quote the Joker in The Dark Knight: "And here we....go."
Count Edit: 9:43 (CT) What will the CMSM find to hate about this speech? It simply magnificent.
Jonathan Edit: 8:11 (PT)..........................wow............................
That........was.........a..........knockout. The only thing I wish he had said was Newt Gingrich's infamous line, "Had enough?"
Iraq Is Peaceful And Stable
Q: Some members of the [Iraqi] government have made it clear in the last month or two that they might want to withdraw before complete stability, before totally secure borders, before some of the completeness of victory as you described. Is there any change, do you think there is some wiggle room there because what you described with Petraeus was an end point that was rather complete — a peaceful, stable country.
MCCAIN: Its a peaceful and stable country now.
So why are we still over there?
The 2008 RNC Convention Podium
I'm not sure. I think it needs a little bit more flag.
Edit: The theme for the convention is country first.
McCain Advisor: There are no uninsured Americans
Texas once again led the nation with the highest percentage of residents without health insurance, a U.S. Census Bureau report showed Tuesday, although the same study also reports a slight dip last year in the percentage without coverage across the nation.
...
But the numbers are misleading, said John Goodman, president of the National Center for Policy Analysis, a right-leaning Dallas-based think tank. Mr. Goodman, who helped craft Sen. John McCain's health care policy, said anyone with access to an emergency room effectively has insurance, albeit the government acts as the payer of last resort. (Hospital emergency rooms by law cannot turn away a patient in need of immediate care.)
"So I have a solution. And it will cost not one thin dime," Mr. Goodman said. "The next president of the United States should sign an executive order requiring the Census Bureau to cease and desist from describing any American - even illegal aliens - as uninsured. Instead, the bureau should categorize people according to the likely source of payment should they need care.
Earth to John McCain and John Goodman: Here are just a few realistic figures about Americans and health care:
Who are the uninsured?
* Nearly 47 million Americans, or 16 percent of the population, were without health insurance in 2005, the latest government data available.1
* The number of uninsured rose 2.2 million between 2005 and 2006 and has increased by almost 9 million people since 2000.1
* The large majority of the uninsured (80 percent) are native or naturalized citizens.2
* The increase in the number of uninsured in 2006 was focused among working age adults. The percentage of working adults (18 to 64) who had no health coverage climbed from 19.7 percent in 2005 to 20.2 percent in 2006.1 Nearly 1.3 million full-time workers lost their health insurance in 2006.
* Nearly 90 million people - about one-third of the population below the age of 65 spent a portion of either 2006 or 2007 without health coverage.3
* Over 8 in 10 uninsured people come from working families - almost 70 percent from families with one or more full-time workers and 11 percent from families with part-time workers.2
* The percentage of people (workers and dependents) with employment-based health insurance has dropped from 70 percent in 1987 to 59 percent in 2006. This is the lowest level of employment-based insurance coverage in more than a decade.4, 5
* In 2005, nearly 15 percent of employees had no employer-sponsored health coverage available to them, either through their own job or through a family member.6
* In 2006, 37.7 million workers were uninsured because not all businesses offer health benefits, not all workers qualify for coverage and many employees cannot afford their share of the health insurance premium even when coverage is at their fingertips.1
* The number of uninsured children in 2006 was 8.7 million - or 11.7 percent of all children in the U.S.1 The number of children who are uninsured increased by nearly 610,000 in 2006, the second year that the number of uninsured children increased.
* Young adults (18-to-24 years old) remained the least likely of any age group to have health insurance in 2005 - 29.3 percent of this group did not have health insurance.1
* The percentage and the number of uninsured Hispanics increased to 34.1 percent and 15.3 million in 2006.1
* Nearly 40 percent of the uninsured population reside in households that earn $50,000 or more.1 A growing number of middle-income families cannot afford health insurance payments even when coverage is offered by their employers.
Yes, McCain and Goodman - there are uninsured Americans.
Don't Feel bad Maxine They Do The Same Thing To Hillary As Well.
Look at this "flattering" picture of Maxine Waters The AP is running. I would say it's racism that they would choose to run the worst picture that they could find but they do it to Hillary all the time.

Post Convention (Day 3)Thoughts
Why are you surprised? And why are you even watching? Watch the speeches then turn it off. Do you really need David Gergan to give you your opinion? "But they thought Biden's speech was bad!" of course they did they are campaigning for McCain. They are after all his base.
I am getting convention fatigue. I had to get out tonight and tomorrow College Football season starts. There's no way I am missing the Obama speech but I may watch less of the convention tomorrow than any other day. Even if I only watched 25 minutes of convention tomorrow that's 25 minutes more than I'll watch of the bullshit jamberoo next week.
Late Edit from Jonathan: Me and ET will be handling the RNC Convention coverage. Someone's gotta do it.
Act Shocked McCain is Going To Announce His VP
McCain Has Made His Pick and Is Set to Tell on Friday
WASHINGTON — Senator John McCain has decided on his running mate, two Republican strategists in contact with Mr. McCain’s campaign said Wednesday. He is expected to reveal his choice at a rally at a basketball arena in Dayton, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday.
Mr. McCain’s decision is known only to his small inner circle of advisers, no more than three or four people, who have refused all public discussion on the matter. Republicans close to the campaign said that the top contenders remained the same three men who have been the source of speculation for weeks: former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and, possibly, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, independent of Connecticut.
It was unclear how seriously Mr. McCain was considering his good friend, Mr. Lieberman, who favors abortion rights and whose selection could set off a revolt among delegates at the Republican National Convention next week in Minneapolis-St. Paul as well as a furious backlash among Christian conservatives, a crucial voting bloc of the Republican Party. But as recently as Tuesday, Mr. McCain was said to still be entertaining the idea of Mr. Lieberman, who was Al Gore’s running mate on the Democratic presidential ticket in 2000.
Democratic National Convention Day 3.
I bet you thought I forgot :) is there anything better than watching 75 year old white people dancing to Motown? Especially when they are 600 pounds.
4:22 Edit: When did Bakersfield become a great city? I mean they gave us some great music but if 25,000 gas stations makes your city great then I guess Bakersfield is the best.

5:34 Edit: Ben Nelson just say cast our votes before it is gameday Saturday.
5:48: Edit: Barack Obama is the nominee. Hillary comes through again and does the right thing.
7:42 Edit: I admit it. I had to take a break. I have watched almost all of this convention except one hour last night that I watched Big Red Wrap Up. I went out for a walk with the Contessa. I hope I didn't miss anything too Important :)

Guess Who Is Back With Another Editor...News Story?
Analysis: A perfect night for Clinton, Obama?
By RON FOURNIER, Associated Press Writer
DENVER - For one evening, their political world was perfect. Or so it seemed.
Standing before thousands of delegates, almost half of them her backers, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton declared it time "to unite as a single party with a single purpose" and urged her followers to help elect once-bitter rival Barack Obama. "We are on the same team," she said, after allowing the applause to build to a crescendo and linger, longer than usual — much like the Democratic primary race itself.
"Barack Obama is my candidate," she said. "And he must be our president."
But did she mean it? And would it matter?
True, her challenges Tuesday night were impossibly high, perhaps mutually exclusive.
She had to both promote her political future and unify her party. Clinton had to somehow convince people that she honestly thought Obama was ready for the presidency. But something stood in her way: Her words.
It gets worse from there.Late Edit: More from Fournier.
From March 2008
But there's a line smart politicians don't cross — somewhere between "I'm qualified to be president" and "I'm born to be president." Wherever it lies, Barack Obama better watch his step.
He's bordering on arrogance.
The dictionary defines the word as an "offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride." Obama may not be offensive or overbearing, but he can be a bit too cocky for his own good.

Have I mentioned that fundamentalists really piss me off?
Outside of that, I also argue that our secularists are not just wrong to attempt this separation of faith and politics, but are also foolish. The plain fact of the matter is that our way of life is built upon a Judeo-Christian base. The fundamental concept that we, as individuals, are valuable and have endowed rights is a Judeo-Christian concept - cut our politics off from its wellsprings and it will dry up and die. At bottom, if you wish to live your life as an agnostic secularist, you desperately need the cooperation of believers who sustain the concepts which allow you to live as you do.
Mark, please quit with this smoke-and-mirrors that America will fall without your fundamentalist view of Judeo-Christian 'values.' We've been around for 232 years without a state religion and we've done fine, thank you very much. Let us remember that our ancestors originally came to this country to escape religious persecution from the Church.
Hi. You Miss Me?
Let's Hear It For Hillary
She was outstanding tonight. Great job Hillary.
Late Edit: Hillary has earned all of my respect back. You go, girl. Great speech and way to stick it to McSame.
And to PUMA - it's high time you decided where your loyalties lie. Clinton made her's. What about yours?
Democratic National Convention Day 2.
it's day 2.
Last night CNN wondered if the "Dems" were too soft. Of course if they had been in attack mode CNN would have wondered why are the "Dems" so angry?
When did the AP become another outlit to distribute Conservative editorials instead of just delivering the news without bias? I know. I know. About the same time the TV news networks did.
I'll be popping in and out when something strikes my fancy.
4:24 Edit: Watching these kids do a fine job singing the national anthem it reminded of the time the Democrats brought out little orphan Annie. What year was that?
4:54 Edit: Don't feel bad Governor Patterson. You have far more sight than anybody will be speaking next week.
4:57 Edit: If McCain is the answer the question must be Ridiculous. good line.
5:26 Edit: I was wondering during the role call of Democrats who have past away whether or not all of those folks were people who identified themselves as Democrats or whether they really Democrats. then they showed Russert and I had my answer.
When Lieberman and Miller die will they show their pictures?
5:47 Edit: if Leslie Blitzer ever shut up and listen to what's actually being said he would hear Democrats going after McCain pretty good. Here comes Dennis!
5:51 Edit: I love it! Somebody pissed in Kucinich's corn flakes. I am pretty sure it was G.W. Bush. Wake up America! Great Job Dennis.
6:12 Edit. God save the state of West Virginia? As if she didn't have enough to do. :)
Another editorial piece masquerading as news.
6:42 Edit: Are there Democrats in the house tonight? I would hope so.
I may have to take an hour break from the convention :) The first Big Red Wrap Up of the year is on.
8:29 Edit: Good line. He's not a Maverick He's a side kick.
8:44 Edit: So this is the guy we have to blame for cell phones? Let's kick his ass.
9:36 Edit; Governor Schweitzer kicks some ass.
9:48 Edit: No Way No How No McCain.
9:51 Edit : Sister Hood of The Traveling Pant Suits. :) I bet the crazy one loved that line.
10:00 Edit: Hillary is simply magnificent tonight.
10:07 Edit : I am sure the CMSM will tear her apart I thought she was brilliant.

Typical Glenn Beck Fan
64. Joewarmer Says:
I it funny no ones see’s the Humor in Glenn Beck. He is a very funny man. He is just making fun of all the Stupid things that Networks or Dems do to make everyone thing they are Green or what ever that is?
Al Gore is the most NONgreen person out their he says you should do this and that but does not do one single thing he says will help the enviroment. What a Foney!
One of the last stupid things i saw was Monday night using Candles to light the studio, Like that will make a difference. all the while the Trucks and equipement used in the production is running. What about the Announcers did they ride bikes to the Studio, All bet they Flew in private Jets to the game.
Do you really think tonight Dem event in Denver will have all of them riding bikes their?? Right like i said they are all such a bunch of Foneys or Hypocrites but it seems not one on this forum has said anything to that one.
It is Do as i Say and not as i Do. Get real Democrat or Republicans they do not have any one thing different between them. As if Liberals are better than conservatives Get real.
If anything i think Liberals are the one that seems to jump on anything they say and go hog wild. Even while they do on follow one thing they says.
Just like the Peta people “FONEY”. Don’t eat meat but i like KFC thought. Get Real
70. Joewarmer Says:
You need to go back and reread my Response as i think you did not grasp my message. Or is this typical with Liberals? Only read the first line and make up the Rest??
Like i said before it seems liberals will jump on the first thing and Run WIlD over it. All the while not knowing what it is they are running wild over!
75. Joewarmer Says:
Yea, I want to Watch some Russian News! Or are you saying Keith Olbermann is a communist?? I kind of Figuried he was one. But now i know for sure he was one.
And you think Glenn Beck is a Prick? Well i guess i will listen to a Funny Prick rather than a dull Communist any day.
Most of these comments on here read like a Rant from some Nut Farm. Glenn Beck is a Stupid Little Prick. Something my three years Daughter would say. Or are Liberals are not very creative in their thoughts?
I think i am going to go turn of the TV and watch the Stupid Little Prick as he is more funny than reading these Stupid Little Comments from Nut jobs.
84. Joewarmer Says:Just like a Liberal to take everything Literal, Not knowing one is being facetious. Most Liberals will make reference to someone that is Vile and Mean. But never think anything is wrong with it.
You can never joke about anything and make light of it as i don’t think you a Humorus bone in your body. Lighten up as the world will most likly end tommorow to Global Warming.
Edit:He's still going...
Joewarmer Says:
Maybe we could all have a Group hug and we could all feel better about the world.
Group hugs don’t cause global warming! Or maybe with all the breathing it will spike the CO2 emmissions.
Feel good politics do nothing for anyone. never have and never will.
I have not read one Constructive argument on this Forum.
Just Mean Vile comments on people. When has making money a bad thing? Do you not have jobs Or do you have Goverment Subsidy checks delived to your home?
As for Glenn Beck he is a funny Guy, But it seems most of you can not understand the hummor Or see thur to the point he is trying to make. But keep up the Group hugs as i think Al Gore way want you to take out a Carbon Emissions permit for your damage to enviroment.
Another Edit: He can't be for real:
You liberal are so predictable as you seem to say the same thing over and over again.
So i wish their was somebody on this forum that had some common sense!
You know that is what Glenn Beck says all the time. Maybe he is right. But then again the Right is Right.
I need a translator at this point.
I forget everything is outsourced nowadays. Wages are so much lower in Berzerkistan.”
So who do you think started this trend?
Wild guess. Clinton!
Thanks To Bill and China-Mart “that is Walmart for you Liberals” . Everything now is make in China.
Their is not any Slave Labor their. Right!!
Democratic National Convention Day 1.
Well it's about to start. I watch the convention on CSPAN which I prefer over the cable news networks. I mean if I gave a shit what Black Jack Billy Bennett and Ed Gillespie thought I would watch the Republican National Convention.
This week I'll miss not being able to post on off topic.
I'll check in periodically and leave comments.
PLEASE feel free to come by and tell me what you think of what you're seeing.
5:36: Edit. so far BLAH. But that is to be expected. McHale should have worked the word women in a little bit more.
Oh and Mayor Hickenlooper I am sure you're a great guy but public speaking is not your thing.
7:52 Edit: Great speech from Jesse Jackson Sr. The first great speech of the night. Things were really kinda...Blah until then. I thought the town hall thing was kinda..cheesy to be honest with you.
8:01 Edit: I am sure this song is saying going to have a funky good time. But it sounds like gonna have a fucking good time. Either way it's all good.
8:20 Edit: Sexist Comment alert* Caroline Kennedy looks damn good for 50.
8:34 Edit: Ted Kennedy still kicking ass.
8:42 Edit. Outstanding moment! Can't wait to see the Conservatives spin that. Well yes I can. No wonder Conservatives hate Ted Kennedy. They despise greatness. That fired me up.
9:05 Edit: God bless Jim Leach for speaking at the convention and supporting Obama but I now know who voiced Kermit the Frog.
9:26 Edit: Good but unexciting speeches from Leach and McCaskill.
9:40 Edit: Republicans are really really good at dehumanizing their opponents wives but I really really like Michelle Obama.
Let me just say I turned on CNN after the convention was over and was reminded why I watch C-SPAN. David Gergen says " I thought Michelle Obama saved the day of the Democrats blah blah blah". With all due respect David...fuck you and the MSM.
Honestly I didn't think this was a great opening night of the convention until Ted Kennedy made his speech. After that it was very good evening. Leach and McCaskill were fine and Michelle Obama was great. I give night one a solid B.

Flashback Troll Quote Of The Week.
Citizens put security 1st, and families don't want terrorists to blowup things on our homeland. Rudy will stay on the offensive, continuing the Bush doctrine of hitting them before they plan to hit us b/c it is a different kind of war, i.e. terror war.

One Last Thing About The Game Tonight.
Well it’s over. I stood, I cheered, I cussed, I exhaled and when it was over I took a bath. I had to. not just because of 2 ½ hours of watching a great basketball game and sweating until the very end. I had to because my love for my country caused me to go places and say things that I have never said before, and damn sure never hope to say again. With 3 minutes left to go in an unexpectedly tough Gold medal game The United States clung to a 5 pt lead and
After saying that what else was left for me to do but take a bath? In one night not only was I openly rooting for a player that I might just despise more than any other player in the NBA being coached by a man that I might just think even less of in Mike Krzyzewski. Earlier I said I hated
I had joked during the game that…”normally I would say that
This team scrapped for 40 minutes, in fact in many of those 40 minutes they out-scrapped the
For The United States’ part somehow this much tougher than expected fight to win a gold medal was a far more impressive achievement then it would have been if they had won 157-47. Time and time again it looked tonight like The United States would be just another Mike Tyson look a like. You know plow through everybody who goes down at the first punch but then fall and fall hard at the first opponent who actually throws a punch back? But they never went down. Time and time again the
In a game that was as tightly contested as this game was the
In the end it would be

Speaking of having to record the games and watch them later. Congrats to NBC for that Douchebaggery they polled Friday morning. The game was suppose to start at
In The last game The United States got ahead of
Let me just point out that Neal Cavuto is highly under-rated. You ask people to name the biggest dickheads on the right and I bet his name takes awhile to be mentioned if at all. Give Neal is proper due. He’s a first class douchebag of the highest order and certainly ranks as ones of the right’s biggest dickheads.
In my opinion this is the best time of the day and it’s a great time to play a basketball game.
United States Vs Spain for the gold medal.
Announcers: Doug Collins and Mike Breen.
The two teams played earlier in the Olympics I pool play and The United States won by 37.

Last Night I Wasn't Entirely Sold...
Now I am!
Watching The Speech On C-SPAN.
The Mayor Of Springfield Diamond Jim Quimby.
Mention the passing of Stephanie Tubbs Jones.
19months ago it was cold in Springfield.
The American people are better than their government. Amen.
We Can't afford 4 more years of failed Republicans Double AMEN!
Searching for a leader.
Obama would be a great TV minister If he ever had a loss of dignity and morality.
Biden a man of character.
Born the son of a Share cropper...
Introducing Obama's Vice President...
Now Obama is shaming us into voting for Biden.
I Love you Barack but you are pouring it on a little bit thick.
Shit why is this guy running for Vice President? He's the greatest man ever.
Called McCain Catastrophic. Good.
Biden is at ease in Cedar Rapids bars.
Obama keeps tying McCain with Bush which is really good. The over dramatic descriptions of Joe Biden however...
Let me introduce to you the next President of the United States Joe Biden... Oops.
Have Lincoln quote ready. Good.
Oh Lord the son of a share-cropper story again.
Is there a reason they keep mentioning the fact that he is catholic?
Only 4 years of Bush and McCain? how I wish.
AMMMMMMMMMMMMENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!
We As A nation Can-not afford 4 more years of this! Beautiful!!!!!
I'm Liking This Biden speech.
That's not a worry John McCain has to worry about he just has to worry about which of 7 kitchen tables to sit at. That did it. You so have my vote.
How many times can you use the phrase every fiber of my being?
EVER,EVER,EVER!!!!
Another beautiful shot at George W. Bush.
Biden and McCain are friends.
Quoting McCain's own words to show how he and Bush are the same. fantastic.
This is an awesome speech.
You can't change America when the first 4 years of your Presidency will look exactly like George W. Bush's last 8 years.
Barack America?
4 more months!
Wrap it up Joe.
Steel in his spine? that must hurt.
Millions of Americans!
One Candidate has passed that test.
Now he's using words that I have never heard of.
The Son of a share-cropper again.
Biden's wife is drop dead gorgeous. That was odd. Que Richard and Pat Nixon joke.
Close with Lincoln.
It's our time it's Americas time.
God will protect our troops when we bring them home.
Michelle Obama is tall.
Great speech.
